Both entrees were a great serving. My entree of pork buns could almost be a light lunch. Very tasty and colourful. No skimping on the garlic prawn entree either. For main the rattle steak is an interesting option served with beans, thick cut chips and chipotle hollandaise sauce. The fried coating is thin enough that it's not oily and has a nice hint of chilli. Sadly my steak was over cooked but it didn't ruin the dish. The fudge brownie and smores desserts were to die for. The brownie top was hard to cut through but it was ENORMOUS! Meals at other tables looked delightful too. Definitely worth a try and has a lovely view with huge glass windows.

We decided to have the garlic bread for main and received 4 slices of sour dough with a small cup of garlic butter to spread ourselves. It was an interesting way to serve and there was more than enough butter which was quite nice. For main I went for the steak and BBQ ribs combo plate with Jack Daniels jus sauce. The waiter said the chef normally prepares medium steak but I could have it my way, I said that I like medium well but was happy to try medium if that's what is recommended. When the steak came out it was quite nice but had definitely been cooked to medium well (no complaints). The jus was amazing and the Jack Daniels wasn't as overpowering as I remember from the previous visit. The ribs serving was also quite big. I didn't mind the ribs but did find the BBQ sauce they were covered in quite sweet and it made me feel a little sick, so I ended up scrapping some of it away. I still finished them in the end. We decided not to have desert as the menu lacked a chocolate option... I know right! Most of it was cooked fruit... Something I despise. My previous visit I remember desert being amazing. Definitely worth a visit.

The venue itself is a great location, even if a touch out of the way of the main eateries. Of course I love the food offered, I love the view, I love sitting in the warm sun outside when possible but I've really enjoyed the constant welcome from the manager/owner of the place. The staff too ;) Says a lot to me when they take time out to meet n greet you personally. The selections of food have always been fresh and tasty...and filling. This joint is also open late so good to come before of after a movie to eat, chill and talk. It may not be a 5 star restaurant but I feel like I get a 5 star experience.

Balcony area is a major win for the upper location though. Order at the entrance to either take away or dine in at one of the cute tables or booths and listen to some great music whilst you wait. My partners bacon and cheese burger pushed his effort vs enjoyment ratio to the max but he pulled through. Finishing with dripping hands but he said it was worth it. My southern chicken burger was easier to manage with a great coating, double cheese and a zingy chipotle sauce. Chips were also delicious! Add $2 for a dipping sauce but I don't think they need it. I had the milo thick shake at The Rocks location years ago and happy to report it's just as good. Beers on tap or by the bottle. Sadly missed out on the $2 wine or schooner with any main meal which could be better displayed. We saw it advertised afterward when leaving the centre. But there's always next time. There WILL be a next time. Yum!

The restaurant is situated amongst a string of eateries near the museum so it caters to out-of-towners. The service on the night I came is was friendly however un-attentive considering there were 6 tables at 7pm. Not that the servers were standing around doing nothing, they were just slow and took their time. The menu was so expensive considering how simple the selection - and I did come in for ramen however the only soup selection was the obligatory miso. The menu was gyoza, tempura, edamame basics with very good presentation. I ordered agadashi tofu to test skills which came out as one piece, luke warm, overly bonito'd but edible. Wine selection was a plus and I did get a generous taster since what I wanted wasn't available. Overall this place has SOOOO much potential but I would not bring my friends, colleagues or family here for the quality:price ratio. I enjoyed the space but the meal and service can improve.

We were told they take orders over the phone for pick up if you're in a hurry, only to attempt it once and be told to just to come in, that it was a waste of time. The staff are rarely helpful, often interruping and reluctant to make any changes to burgers or answer any questions. The non-alcoholic drink selection used to be amazing but has degenerated into the usual selection of pepsi and coke products. And the really irritating part is this place has NEVER gotten my orders right. We're not talking special orders, like adding or removing toppings. We're talking actually getting the burgers we ordered. The most recent order was for one chicken and one mushroom burger. We got two chicken burgers after waiting almost twenty minutes. The burgers themselves are fine, the quality varies. I've been greated with less than fresh salad at times. Grill'd is not cheap and I'm reluctant to try out the Newcastle branches again after such continued poor service. Unfortunately, another case of Newcastle decay.

You can immediately tell how much care goes into the preparation. The flavors were so authentic and original -- just like being transported straight to Thailand. The variety of dishes we tried all had their own unique character, and nothing felt rushed or "cookie cutter" despite how quickly it was served.
