Downloaded the app and was able to make an appointment online. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted and checked in. Teheran salon is clean, bright and the temperature, on a VERY hot day was comfortable. There were 3 stylists, one had already started on a client just before the 9am opening time. My appointment was with Naomi and she was ready for me when I arrived. I was escorted to my seat and asked about what I wanted. W discussed the length and was offered a shampoo, included in the price of the cut. I loved that each station had a shampoo bowl! My cut was exactly what I asked for. Naomi dried my hair and after putting a bit of product on to, it looked great. The cost was reasonable and exactly what was listed online. I will be back in about 2 months to maintain the length, and maybe go a tad bit shorter!

Once seated, I took a look at the brochure that disclosed prices. I was in for a perm. It said "$75+". I've been getting perks for the better part of 15 years and this is what I am accustomed to paying. Usually around $80. I've even paid $90 at high end salons in Atlanta. The hairdresser was fantastic. Kind, funny, and chatty. I showed her a photo of the perm style I was looking for and she began. I was there about 2 hours. That's the norm. When I checked out I asked for a recommendation on a good shampoo and left with one I love. (Try Loma, you won't regret it) however, when I was checked out the total was $175!!! One hundred dollars more than what's disclosed in the salon brochure. I have paper thin, chin length hair so I was shocked. I didn't question the total there because the hairdresser was so awesome but after speaking with other stylists and friends and neighbors, they encouraged me to review such a discrepancy in the price. Maybe the shampoo was $100? I still have sticker shock 2 weeks later. I've never paid even close to that price so I was appalled. For this reason I did not recommend the salon to friends or neighbors and can't recommend on yelp. There's a host of salons in this area (excellent ones) that seem to be more upfront and honest in their pricing.

I've had the same person cutting my hair every month for the past 7 years, and finding someone you can trust is hard. I knew I needed to find someone in the area, and I knew I wanted an Aveda Salon. A couple of Google searches and Acquario was one of the places at the top of my list. What tipped them over the top was the online booking capabilities. I booked an appointment online with Sydney and had my cut last night. Both Sydney and the person working the front desk were extremely nice and friendly; offered me tea/coffee/water, took my coat, etc. and made me feel welcome. Sydney introduced herself and after a quick consultation, she got right to work, starting with a relaxing scalp massage. Throughout the cut, Sydney was extremely professional and efficient. She asked for my preference in shampoo and styling gel (I don't like the men's line Aveda has) and used all of my favorites. I'll definitely book again with Sydney based on my experience yesterday.

Also, please don't be a bad client, as I was missing my appointment. However, when I did so, they rescheduled me the next day and gave me no guilt for being inconsiderate. Don't miss the boutique. The collection is artistically displayed and a pleasure to walk through. The dressing rooms are spacious. Anyways, choosing between the shisheido eyelash curler, and my last one was the tweezerman, loved it - but couldn't find it. Jillian suggested one of 2 and the other Tarte! I've avoid this eye lash curler mainly because the handle was purple , not an Ulta thing - just a mark of Tarte. Anyways, Jillian sold me, the grip, the pressure, came with a sample size free Mascara. Sold. Purchased it, got a free mascara to give to the sister to an event tonight, and lashes stayed all night. I chose it because it was the closest distance to where I was staying and driving with one hand can be difficult. Am I glad I did! In fact, I would drive 20x as far for this wonderful little gem of a salon. It is hidden down a wooded drive, but such a pleasant surprise! The salon is immaculate, nicely decorated and incredibly serene and Nancy is one of the most pleasant people I have met in Spring Lake! She clearly loves what she does and equally important: she seems to genuinely like her customers new and old. As I said, don't be deceived by the tucked away location--- it is a one of a kind gem.
