For something so standard, it was passable but not likely to order again. Our favorite dishes were 1) the duck and 2) potato and vegetable patties. Duck was crispy, hot, and had pretty good flavor! The vegetable patties were also crispy and balanced, slightly sweet. The beer list was limited but we liked what we ordered. Hate to be a broken record but we've had better while in the city. Wouldn't recommend this place to a friend since it was just average.

Speaking of microbreweries: This is how it should be done!…read more I just passed by many times, promising myself to pay the Hendrych brewery a visit, never finding the right time for it - trying to hunt down the last bits of snow in Špindlerův Mlýn or just implementing other excuses:) Sitting here for the first time, outdoors bathing in the sun on "White Saturday" (Easter weekend) the 26th of March 2016, I have to admit: That was a FCKN' MISTAKE! Should have come here sooner. For beer lovers, this is totally worth it. Beer produced in a sophisticated and lovable way can be a rare thing to encounter in this World of ours - It's a thing you are going to find here! So far I have tried the 11° Bohemian lager (fully bitter), the 13° semi-dark special brew, the 16° ale and the awesome 18° stout - all superb! Consumed with their homemade head cheese varieties ...a dream actually (not a big dream, but say a small beer dream:). I'll post their beer offer on pics. Btw. I loved the beer cheese with fresh pretzels as it paired perfectly with their craft beers. Their beer list rotates seasonally, but they have a decent range of beer types for everyone to enjoy. There's both indoor and outdoor seating and service is great and accessible for English speakers.

There was a restaurant to the right and also brewery to the right. We made the left turn and noticed two huge copper kettle welcoming. The lady told us to sit at the two seater desk right next to a person coughing real bad and that really made us comfortable. Ordered DIPA. Soup and salad. Pilsner arrived first by mistake which I didn't touch. Turned out to be for the guy coughing real bad. Soon, mine arrived. It was one of the best tasting DIPA. I had to compliment the bartender. Apparently, this one is brewed here also. Very nice ambience especially with two copper kettles at the front. Monks stopped brewing beers for awhile. No ales.

The weather was nice and the staff very attentive. I tried each of their three tap beers of the day, a traditional Czech Pilsner, a raspberry sour, and a Coconut IPA. All were super favorable and enjoyable. I had the Cheese & Salami tapas which was way too much food for 1, but very well presented and tasting! I will definitely visit again during another visit to Prague!

At first we were thrilled with our server's recommendations and excellent attention, as well as with the cocktails, food, and gorgeous ambiance. The problem occurred toward the end of the evening. Our server cleared our dishes and asked if we were interested in dessert. We said we would be happy to consider the choices. He left us and got busy with another party, which we understood, so waited for about 20 minutes. One of his colleagues passed by and we mentioned that we were waiting. We saw her tell our server, who still did not make time to check in with us. After waiting even longer, one member of our party--originally from England, which becomes important later--got up, found the server, and asked if we could get the dessert menu. Finally he came to our table. He did not apologize for the wait (all he needed to say was that he had gotten swamped, and we would have been fine with that small explanation). Instead, he said, "The hardest part is waiting," mentioned there is no actual dessert menu, then left and came back with a board showing us some of the desserts, explaining what they were. He was obviously irritated with us and so we opted to end the evening and asked for the check. He brought it quickly and pointedly explained that we could tip him. We were uninterested in rewarding his rudeness and did not tip him. Then he insultingly said to our English friend, who was paying: "I didn't think you had an American accent." This was so unprofessional. We go out of our way to be gracious when we travel, not wanting to be seen as "ugly Americans." We tip almost everyone and generously. Your server's increasing rudeness and growing irritation with us was completely uncalled for, and we are so disappointed to have this memory of an otherwise wonderful few days in your beautiful city.
