Too expensive for what you get. Not sure why it would justify such extreme price mark up, $400 per hr ??

For months, I struggled with severe anxiety, depression, and debilitating PTSD symptoms. Medication was only helping a little bit, and I didn't want to rely solely on it. I was looking for something that could provide more immediate and lasting relief, which led me to the Brain Wellness Center in San Ramon for TMS treatment. Before beginning treatment, I was in profound distress. I experienced intense visceral emotional reactions and PTSD symptoms that felt overwhelming. My trigger responses were debilitating and sometimes turned violent--I was throwing things, breaking things, and unable to control my rage. The emotional flooding was extreme, often leaving me gasping for air and doubled over in pain. I had strong urges to self-harm and uncontrollable impulses toward physical aggression, which I sometimes acted on. I couldn't engage in any therapeutic work--I couldn't even look at books about my type of trauma without becoming dysregulated. My mind was trapped in constant rumination and obsessive thoughts. The anxiety was so severe that I felt like I was losing myself. After completing 50 sessions of TMS, the transformation has been remarkable. I developed motivation for basic self-care like going to sleep early and taking vitamins--things that felt impossible before. When triggered now, I still feel anger surge through me, but I no longer have the urge to be physically aggressive. I can now engage in therapeutic work, reading books about my trauma and participating in therapy discussions. I still feel discomfort, but it's manageable--not the dysregulating panic I experienced before. I've learned to disengage and down-regulate when triggered. I'm calmer and better able to care for myself instead of drowning in obsessive thoughts. The compulsion toward physical aggression has dramatically decreased. My anxiety is much less intense--I can redirect my attention to self-care, and the upset no longer overwhelms me. Most importantly, I'm no longer on my knees or doubled over in emotional pain. I am able to walk toward healing. The doctors at Brain Wellness Center are truly exceptional. Both Dr. Hashemian and Dr. Palmer are deeply compassionate, excellent listeners, and incredibly knowledgeable--they've been doing this work for decades and are true experts. I felt confident I was in capable hands. What I appreciated most was their honest approach with no sales pressure. They truly want you to make the best choice for you, whether that means working with them or another TMS specialist. They were thorough in their assessments and committed to tracking progress systematically. Week by week, I could literally see the steady decline in my anxiety, depression, and PTSD symptoms through their comprehensive measurements. The most dramatic improvement was in my anxiety symptoms. I would say that I started feeling really noticeable relief from my symptoms after about 6 sessions. Next to the treatment's effectiveness, I was most impressed with the staff. Mayra, Angelica, Autumn, and Olivia work seamlessly as the techs and coordination team. They are incredibly kind, consistently professional while genuinely warm and caring, and highly skilled. You can tell they're happy in their work environment. They were efficient with scheduling, accommodating with changes, and excellent at follow-through and communication. Appointments always started on time, and the facility was meticulously clean. I felt genuinely taken care of throughout all 50 sessions. TMS at Brain Wellness Center gave me my life back. I went from being unable to function, violent in my reactions, and contemplating self-harm to being able to engage in healing work, regulate my emotions, and move forward with my life. The relief I sought--something more immediate and lasting than medication alone--is exactly what I found. If you're struggling with depression, anxiety, or PTSD, I cannot recommend Brain Wellness Center highly enough. Thank you to Dr. Hashemian, Dr. Palmer, Mayra, Angelica, Autumn, and Olivia for helping me find my way back to myself. The healing journey continues.

He then went on to explain that I should be doing better in school as I grow up and not worse because that's how we should work cognitively, which is not true by the way. He then gave me the ADD checklist/self-assessment at the END of the session right before I left, and was never to be looked at (It should be given at the start so it can be reflected on during the evaluation). That experience totally undermined my conditions and left me broken. He would chuckle at my concerns and that did not make me comfortable as he undermined my struggles in school to just "stress" and probably thought that I was making a big deal out of newfound stress from high school. He should be aware that ADD/ADHD goes highly underdiagnosed in girls and looks VERY different. I was still struggling heavily in my first year of college so I decided to go to someone different to give it another shot. Now I'm finally diagnosed and on Vyvanse doing better than ever. So I do not recommend.

I feel obligated to share, to hopefully save someone else the experience we had. Dr. Hardy is very on organized. She doesn't respond to her emails promptly and either doesn't keep good notes or doesn't review them. For one simple medication question we had, she finally responded after more than a week. Obviously forgetting she had already responded, she replied again more than a week later and gave contradicting instructions. On one visit she asked if we needed a refill and we said no. She later ordered the refill for 14 pills from our mail order pharmacy. We had no idea until the medication arrived with a bill of $50, the same price as a three month supply. We contacted her and she again did not reply in a timely way, but when she finally did, she had a lot of excuses and nonsensical reasons why the mistake was our fault. We went back-and-forth, but she never apologized or took responsibility for her mistake. Her office staff is snooty and her prices are very high and not covered under our insurance. But we were willing to overlook the office staff and the price to find a great doctor. Unfortunately, Dr. Hardy was far from that.

She expertly put me on a regimen of non-toxic compounds that she adjusts every quarter based upon her indefatigable updating of the advanced science on which she relies. She is both caring and direct. I credit her with much understanding and support and, essentially, keeping me alive while I avoided toxic recommendations from my more traditional team. The complexity of Dr. Mielke's patients means that while she has a killer memory and excellent medical training plus nearly a quarter century of running her clinic, she simply cannot know everything that will ultimately be the key to a particular individual recovery. For those dealing with autism, Lyme and similar tick borne illnesses, for supplemental information that may be really helpful to try, give the recordings from the Autism Health Summit 2025 a hearing (info@autismhealth.com). To her credit, Dr. Mielke did try her best to treat my ongoing mysterious symptoms; I have been unwell since late summer 2017. I do credit her for introducing me to a few things that were of help with chronic Lyme. She introduced me to the Relax Brand sauna, PlusCBD oil, and LDN. She also helped me understand that have a double mutated MAOA gene and cannot tolerate SSRIs.I thank her for these suggestions /prescriptions. However, by the last visit or two, I understood that she really did not know the root cause of my issue. She kept suggesting nutrition testing and practicing DNRS- neither of which helped to a large extent. In December 2020, she put me on a trial of herbs used to treat Lyme. In February or March, she put me on a full on herbal protocol. After 30 days, I did not feel markedly better. She pompously proclaimed, " Well then, it must not be Lyme. This protocol worked so well for so-and-so." I get the impression that she is not well-versed in treating Lyme. If she was, she would have ordered a CD57 test and used Vibrant Wellness labs to check a full spectrum of tick born illnesses. I'm sad that I spent this time and money not to feel any better. If you suspect you may have Lyme, be advised before selecting Dr.Mielke.

Back…read morein 2016, I was in back to back car accidents and in 2018 I began having major cognitive challenges (struggled with basic math, spreadsheets, severe fatigue, etc.). I ended up going to the doctor where they discovered I had an autoimmune and thyroid problem, which my doctor said was the reason for the issues and challenges that I was having. The next year and half was spent trying to keep the "flare ups" at bay and I even went on the anti inflammatory diet (no gluten, no sugar, and no dairy). However, these "flare ups" were gradually getting worse and so was my cognitive function, to the point where it was severely affecting my job. I called my doctor in tears because I didn't understand why I was still having these problems and why they continued to get worse. He wanted to put me on anti depressants and anti anxiety medication, which I've never been diagnosed with having either. Shortly after, I found out that I also had Hashimoto along with my other autoimmune. The doctor had told me that I had Hashimoto my entire life and that my thyroid problem wasn't from the car accident (I initially thought all of these issues stemmed from the car accidents). That's when I began to realize that I could have potentially injured my brain in the two car accidents from 2016. By the grace of God, I discovered Dr. Gould, who confirmed that I don't have depression or anxiety, but something called post concussion syndrome. He began treating me and also putting me in touch with top doctors to get my autoimmune and thyroid back on track. He ensured that I was being treated properly for everything, not just my TBI. He helped guide me as far as what I need to do and who I need to see so that I can get the right treatment to move forward. Not only that, but Dr. Gould is the sweetest and kindest soul. He's very empathetic and understanding. He also explains things very thoroughly so that things make sense. He's extremely responsive and even called me back on a Sunday. I would highly recommend Dr. Gould and would even go as far to say that he is by far the best doctor that I have ever worked with. Because of him, I finally have my life back.
