We originally were planning on eating at the indoor restaurant - Fischer Ammersee - but were intrigued by this place instead! Everyone was sitting outside in the sun having a good time, no one was speaking English, and it did not seem touristy AT ALL. After trying to decipher the German menu, we ordered obatzda with a pretzel and a kielbasa on a roll with two beers and found a great high top table overlooking the lake. Everyone around us were drinking coffees, eating cakes, or sharing appetizers and enjoying beers. We enjoyed it so much we ordered an apple cake and another round of drinks. I could've stayed all afternoon if we had time! The world needs more places like this!

Be prepared for a somewhat steep climb up to the Biergarten and Monastery. You will definitely need a beer when you reach the top. The property is gorgeous and we enjoyed the view. Definitely try any of the restaurants/food vendors. They all looked delicious and we decided on sausage and sauerkraut - very good. Also, the beer is fantastic! One star off for the less than friendly server at the restaurant.
