I stayed at the property once before in April of last year. I had a satisfactory experience during that visit, so I opted to stay at this property once again. This time around I could the experience to be less than before. I checked in using the Marriot Bonvoy app. Same as before, the app only showed me the assigned room number and has no mobile key. I checked in at the front desk and felt as though I was bothering the staff member who assisted me. I was told the mobile key was activated and would work by the time I got to the room. Three tries/trips later it still does not work...the only Marriott property where I have ever had this issue. While checking in, I was told 'of course, you know the pool is closed.' Just how exactly would I have known this? I see a pool closure message is posted on your website today but who keeps checking the website page once the reservation is made? I was glad to see that at least the fitness center was open although accessing it through the poll area was a bit of a hazard with the work taking place. I was also told the Concierge Lounge was closed (one of the reasons I chose this property). Apparently, it is closed most of the weekend, from noon Friday through Sunday evening. I struggle to understand the logic. Clearly, you only cater to the Monday thru Friday crowd and everyone else is on their own. I am curious about something. If I go on your website to book a reservation for Saturday night, I am presented with an option to pay more for Concierge Lounge Access. How do you justify charging folks 40+ dollars more for a service not being offered? The room was very spacious and modern, but two things made it a lackluster experience. The first was the smell that hits you as soon as you walk through the door. I am not sure what It was, but it certainly wasn't pleasant. The second thing is how poorly the room was cleaned. It was borderline between being acceptable and going to complain. I opted to just deal with it, but I certainly do not feel I should have been using a washcloth to wipe who knows what off the floor. This was not a great stay. Knowing what I know now I certainly would have opted to stay at one of the other Marriott properties in the area.

As always the customer service is spectacular with great service at the bar from Brian. This is the only hotel I stay at when I visit Pittsburgh and surrounding cities because it's that spectacular. Even when they have several large events the staff always makes you feel like family making sure that your stay is fabulous. The only minor issue which is not necessarily the hotel's fault was that parents would let their kids run in the halls well after 10:00 pm which is not respectful. The sad thing is that they were kids that looked like they were almost in high school. Obviously the hotel staff could only do so much and they had security come up which eventually silenced the hallways. When the staff listens to their guests and takes their concerns seriously it makes me feel important to them and for that reason along with the others I mentioned is why I will be visiting again. Thank you for great service!!

Very impressive, especially compared to the other area Marriott properties, like Courtyard, Fairfield, and Sheraton. Also, impressive compared to other Marriott brand hotels that I've stayed in over the past couple of years. From the moment I checked in, service was great! All of the staff seems to really care and goes out of their way to assist and make contact with guests to ensure all is well. The property itself is very clean, well-maintained and looks great! It's clearly recently renovated, which definitely helps! There's a nice, good sized pool that's indoors and a gym just beyond the pool with lots of equipment and room for several guests to work out simultaneously. The on-site restaurant is actually a legitimate restaurant, not just a place that heats up pre-made food. They have a full bar with bartenders and servers in the restaurant as well as a pretty decent sized menu, loaded with some interesting items. Housekeeping did a great job taking care of my room while I was here, it was refreshed daily (like it's supposed to be!) and made to look like a new room each time. The towels are very soft and absorbent! The charging ports in the room are located in many places, from beside the bed to the desk and near the TV. Elevators work perfectly and are prompt when you call them and quick to take you to the floor you requested and parking is ample and not a far walk from the front door. Overall, I am VERY happy with this stay and will stay here again... Especially since I've been visiting every other week for several weeks now for work.

I travel to Pittsburgh at least 3 or 4 times a year due to my work. The Airport Marriott is my go-to spot. I've tried a few other hotels but always come back here. The hotel has been undergoing a renovation for a year or so. The service at the bar restaurant has been consistently good. The same bar server has been there for a long time and he's awesome. The menu is limited, but what they have is all very good. I recommend the Chicken Wings if you like them. The hotel rooms that have been renovated are super nice. The concierge room on 15th floor is very cool for the regular Marriott members. It's a nice hotel that seems to be getting better.

Fantastic airport Marriott! The hotel was very clean, and Covid protocol are in place. The front desk staff was unprofessional, and rude when we checked in. The Marriott Elite Lounge was one of the worst I've ever seen. The location is perfect for traveling through, and near all things, ( Target, groceries, etc!) if you need a nice hotel it's great. The housekeeping is much better than the front desk staff!

This is a solid choice if you're traveling in or out of PIT and need a place to stay... This property has been recently remodeled and Marriott never seems to disappoint. Not to mention, they have an excellent restaurant that serve up some classic Pittsburgh dishes.

I had booked this prior to my arrival back from my trip, the sole reason for this was that I knew I would be too tired to drive all the way home and I wanted to be lazy and extend my vacation just a little. I had wanted something close to the airport which meant less driving for me and more time relaxing after a long day in the air. I had called prior to my arrival because I wasn't sure when my flight was landing just to make sure that my room would still be available when I did arrive. They assured me that it would be there for me and they didn't lie. Check in was easy and I was on my way to my room. I appreciate that I was put all the way at the end of a hall, that is until I realized how far away from the elevator I was, but that really turned out to be a good thing. One thing that I was worried about was being so close to the highway and all the noise. Even though my room was right there, I heard nothing the whole time I was there. The room was set up nicely, well almost. Where the couch was almost blocked being able to close and open the curtains. You really had to maneuver yourself around to get them to do anything. The bathroom was clean and functional. Bed was big and comfortable. I liked the TV set up. You could enter your information for Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming apps and watch whatever you wanted from your account if you could not find anything on that you liked. I did just that, because they didn't have the best selection of shows on the air at that moment. Check out was a bit complicated. Like most places they slide your bill under the door. I looked it over and noticed that it said you can check out via your television. I tried for a solid ten minutes to do this until I just gave up. I figured I had to pass the front desk anyway. When I approached the front desk I was told that feature wasn't available anymore. I couldn't understand why you would give that option if it wasn't available. If it confused me, I'm sure other guests were confused as well. **Things to note here. Bar/restaurant on premise if you wanted food, they do deliver to the room, but limited hours. Pool/fitness area. Ballroom/banquet hall available. Boarding pass kiosk to print that out if you need. Shuttle service.

Wow, very impressed by this hotel! Very high end Marriott, in my opinion. Restaurant was amazing! There is a huge area to choose to sit in and the ambiance is great. Many tables with outlets o plug your laptop or phone into. Many men and women here on business. Food options were abundant! Service was great! Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Close to the airport and plenty of restaurants around. More options than I had time. Likely be back in a few weeks.

The service was amazing, but it is a long process. Roughly 2 hours for drinks apps and mains. The food was very good. The steaks taste was good, but for a $75 Delmonico, the expectations were just a little higher. The mashed potatoes and 1000 layer potato were the star of the show. Very buttery very good. The seafood pasta was good and the seafood was fresh and tender. The oysters were good. East and west. The homemade hot sauce was amazing. All in all it was a pretty good experience. The drinks. Smokes old fashioned was very good. The manhattan was also very good. The strawberry spritzer did not get consumed. We didn't like it.

In the end, the sum total…read moreexperience was a solid 4 - good food, great aesthetic/vibe, great server, but the lack of accommodation/hospitality, some of the food, the price point on some of the food were drawbacks. One negative happened *before* we arrived. This special evening was to celebrate the 80th birthday of one of my sisters-in-law. We called to arrange a special dessert plate, etc, in advance, but the young woman who answered instantly told me no and said we could order a dessert and they would put a candle on it. I asked if we could choose a few desserts in advance and have them arranged on a platter with "Happy Birthday" written on it in some way, but again this woman said, "No, we really don't do that." Womp womp. Could've been an easy win. She actually encouraged me to bring an outside dessert and they would put a candle on that. She could've suggested a bottle of champagne or glasses of champagne being delivered to the table in advance, but no. Disappointing to say the least, especially at a restaurant of this caliber. Moving on... When you roll up to this location up a winding road, you get how special/unique Hyeholde is. The Tudor-influence is charming, as is the thoughtful gardening & its romantic evening uplighting. A valet pops out immediately to whisk away your car. (One sis-in-law arrived before they opened & was alarmed at no handicapped parking, but this is clearly why: the valet.) Another negative happened before we entered the restaurant -- the valet informed us that our pretty, small birthday balloon would not be allowed inside. The restaurant door opened as we started toward it - the owner & exec chef (we would learn later) welcoming us. Nice touch. One snag: both my sis-in-laws have some challenges walking/climbing stairs; no one asked the SIL who made her own birthday reservation (at her insistence!) about this. So, the 2 were a bit surprised when told that we would be headed upstairs to dine. While our host seemed somewhat willing to change up our location, there was a handrail up the stairs, so both SIL's opted for the climb. ‍ Our server, Ryan, was great - enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and cheerful throughout. The food: They had just changed to their spring menu, but three of us opted for the creamy mushroom soup, a winter menu holdover. While it was mushroomy and flavorful, I really do prefer my mushroom soup to have a splash of sherry. The artisanal greens with honey pear dressing was fresh and light. We all agreed that the dressing was excellent & the greens crisp & flavorful. (Slight drawback: It's fairly small & very simple; $14 is a bit much for this). The bread plate that came with our appetizers was good. One of my SIL's is a master baker, and she positively sang the praises of the brioche rolls. There's one for each in the party. Drawback: We wanted more and were happy to pay, but Ryan told us that wasn't possible. They only make enough for each person to have one each night. The homemade apple butter was excellent. Star appetizer: Smoked olives (!!!) - it sounds crazy, but all 4 of us could not get enough of these. The Applewood smoked treasures were to die for, especially the massive Cerignola olives. WOAH. The truffle mushroom pasta with chestnut cream was also positively standout. Huge, meaty mushrooms were slathered in a rich, flavorful cream with what seemed like campanelle-type pasta - YUM! Ryan recommended the tuna crudo app/small plate - but we just didn't have room. Next time... Main courses: birthday girl & I ordered the seafood tagliatelle which was excellent. The seafood - a blend of shrimp & scallops - was nestled in a saffron beurre blanc with a hugely flavorful blend of fennel, sun-dried tomatoes, & yummy black garlic. Hubs & other SIL got the Delmonico. Neither would recommend it. It was cooked perfectly but was a bit salty, not terribly juicy, and at ***$75**** - I can confidently say (after tasting a piece) that it was not worth it. The bordelaise sauce was nice, but the multi-layered mille-feuille potato creation - while definitely impressive - was too salty, according to the SIL who ordered it. Wine - we brought our own (bday girl had been saving 2 v special bottles) & paid their $40 corkage fee. Dessert time! Birthday SIL got the Ryan-recommended NY Cheesecake (his fave). First - this isn't NY cheesecake! BUT - it is quite good -- creamy, flavorful with a nice, thin, crunchy Graham cracker crust, and a spoonful of succulent preserved cherries. Ryan even magically stuck a little candle to the plate for our celebration. The standout fave, though, was the special carrot cake -- a creative version with a yummy, coconutty/pineapply ice cream colored with carrot juice and garnished with a crunchy, thin sliver of dried parsnip and carrot. Really good! My other SIL got the passionfruit pavlova and thought it was good (I don't do meringue - so I didn't try it).

We enjoyed our day with family and friends. But there were too many issues that couldn't be ignored. I feel we were let down by both Ashley and Michelle at the Cornerstone. The "Groom's Drink" was supposed to be Crown Royal and Diet Coke. I had my drink, a peach sangria, available for everyone. However Crown wasn't being served to guests, even though we paid for the "upgrade" to have Crown Royal available for the groom's drink. Guests were turned down at the bar. In fact, my husband observed only one bottle of Crown being available at the bar all night long. I have the actual writing of the list and it says next to it "for everyone". That apparently wasn't the case, and several of our guests were disappointed by this. Instead of a traditional wedding cake being served, I wanted cupcakes. We specifically asked for four different kinds--chocolate Oreo, vanilla, peanut butter, and red velvet. Only chocolate Oreo and vanilla were displayed and offered at the wedding. The cupcakes were not served to the guests or replenished at any point. We were supposed to have a two-tier cake to cut, but that was nowhere to be found, nor was a knife available. We were promised both. The beer choices that we chose were Bud Light, Yuengling, and Red's Apple. What we got were Miller Lite, Yuengling, and Reds. And they ran out of it all. We did a buffet style dinner. Many people told me they had a choice of meat, but the portions were small. In fact, at the head table, we were never served our beef tips. It got to the point where the menu was changed from a vegetable medley to just corn on the cob, or from cut potatoes to mashed potatoes. Multiple guests did not get everything BECAUSE THEY RAN OUT OF FOOD! That to me is impossible to imagine because guests were not taking as many items as they wanted. It was being served to them. We were told that they cooked for 200 people. We ended up having 180. The excuse? Too many guests were loading up on the carbs?? Are you kidding me? How can that be when it was being served to them in the line?! We had to even order out for pizza afterwards in the bar because their bar kitchen closed. We told them far enough in advance to be prepared. We filled that bar that night gave them hundreds of dollars of business after the event too, and yet they couldn't deliver. My mom made an agreement with Michelle, the owner, that she was to take my husband and I to the hotel after the event because my mom did not want me in an Uber or Lyft in my dress. At the end of the night, Ashley, the bar manager, said Michelle left and that she was going to call me and Uber/Lyft. I didn't want that and said no I'll just ride with family, not knowing until the next day the agreement with my mom and Michelle. Well we went back the next day to collect the rest of our things and to address these concerns. When all of these things were addressed the next day with Ashley, it was excuse after excuse and blame was placed on other things. Instead of apologizing, we were met with arguments. It almost came off that it was our fault the food ran out. My mom asked multiple times for the owner Michelle to call her and to this day it has not happened. I'm just incredibly disappointed with the Cornerstone. I can speak for my husband and my family that we were promised SO MUCH and that simply wasn't the case on the day of the wedding. I feel we spent a lot of money on our wedding and DID NOT get our money worth. In fact, we're not entirely sure where our money went. With food running out, alcohol out, what exactly did our money get spent on? How could they be so underprepared for this event? Unfortunately for the Cornerstone at The Pub at the Tonidale, we, along with 180+ people, will not be recommending them.
