This was the host hotel for a convention I was attempting. We stayed here 5 nights and had no issues. I know there were other members in our group that had AC issues in their room, but luckily we did not. There is a free airport shuttle, though we did not use it as we had a rental car. Plenty of free open parking if you have a car. The hotel was clean & provided all we needed for our stay. We enjoyed food from the bar a few different times. I stayed at the property once before in April of last year. I had a satisfactory experience during that visit, so I opted to stay at this property once again. This time around I could the experience to be less than before. I checked in using the Marriot Bonvoy app. Same as before, the app only showed me the assigned room number and has no mobile key. I checked in at the front desk and felt as though I was bothering the staff member who assisted me. I was told the mobile key was activated and would work by the time I got to the room. Three tries/trips later it still does not work...the only Marriott property where I have ever had this issue. While checking in, I was told 'of course, you know the pool is closed.' Just how exactly would I have known this? I see a pool closure message is posted on your website today but who keeps checking the website page once the reservation is made? I was glad to see that at least the fitness center was open although accessing it through the poll area was a bit of a hazard with the work taking place. I was also told the Concierge Lounge was closed (one of the reasons I chose this property). Apparently, it is closed most of the weekend, from noon Friday through Sunday evening. I struggle to understand the logic. Clearly, you only cater to the Monday thru Friday crowd and everyone else is on their own. I am curious about something. If I go on your website to book a reservation for Saturday night, I am presented with an option to pay more for Concierge Lounge Access. How do you justify charging folks 40+ dollars more for a service not being offered? The room was very spacious and modern, but two things made it a lackluster experience. The first was the smell that hits you as soon as you walk through the door. I am not sure what It was, but it certainly wasn't pleasant. The second thing is how poorly the room was cleaned. It was borderline between being acceptable and going to complain. I opted to just deal with it, but I certainly do not feel I should have been using a washcloth to wipe who knows what off the floor. As always the customer service is spectacular with great service at the bar from Brian. This is the only hotel I stay at when I visit Pittsburgh and surrounding cities because it's that spectacular. Even when they have several large events the staff always makes you feel like family making sure that your stay is fabulous. The only minor issue which is not necessarily the hotel's fault was that parents would let their kids run in the halls well after 10:00 pm which is not respectful. The sad thing is that they were kids that looked like they were almost in high school. Obviously the hotel staff could only do so much and they had security come up which eventually silenced the hallways. When the staff listens to their guests and takes their concerns seriously it makes me feel important to them and for that reason along with the others I mentioned is why I will be visiting again. Only here for a short stay prior to a flight the next day. However, hotel was comfortable and convenient to the airport. Traveling for business necessitates hotel stays of 10 hours or less at times and this was one of them. Needed a place to sleep before an early morning flight. The hotel is located about a 10 min drive to the airport (super close) with free parking (though parking lot can be really dark at night). The hotel lobby was decent sized, a few check in counters and then a good size bar / restaurant. Check-in went fairly smoothly, not too many people. Just missed the club lounge closing so no idea how nice it was. Rooms were standard Marriott fare, spaciois enough, with some updates. Bed was fine (I can sleep in most any kind of hotel bed). Wi-fi worked well. Bathroom was ok size, typical for a mid-level property. You'll find what you'll need here, but nothing much more. read more

Very impressive, especially compared to the other area Marriott properties, like Courtyard, Fairfield, and Sheraton. Also, impressive compared to other Marriott brand hotels that I've stayed in over the past couple of years. From the moment I checked in, service was great! All of the staff seems to really care and goes out of their way to assist and make contact with guests to ensure all is well. The property itself is very clean, well-maintained and looks great! It's clearly recently renovated, which definitely helps! There's a nice, good sized pool that's indoors and a gym just beyond the pool with lots of equipment and room for several guests to work out simultaneously. The on-site restaurant is actually a legitimate restaurant, not just a place that heats up pre-made food. They have a full bar with bartenders and servers in the restaurant as well as a pretty decent sized menu, loaded with some interesting items. Housekeeping did a great job taking care of my room while I was here, it was refreshed daily (like it's supposed to be!) and made to look like a new room each time. The towels are very soft and absorbent! The charging ports in the room are located in many places, from beside the bed to the desk and near the TV. Elevators work perfectly and are prompt when you call them and quick to take you to the floor you requested and parking is ample and not a far walk from the front door. Overall, I am VERY happy with this stay and will stay here again... Especially since I've been visiting every other week for several weeks now for work. read more

Had a great experience with this hotel. Check in was a breeze, hotel staff was very friendly. Rooms were very clean, beds very comfortable. There were plenty of luggage carriers by the door and the access to a restaurant inside the hotel is a huge bonus. I had forgotten to require a pack n play for my infant before getting to the hotel, I called for one last minute right as we were getting ready for bed and a very nice lady brought it ip to me very quickly. I travel to Pittsburgh at least 3 or 4 times a year due to my work. The Airport Marriott is my go-to spot. I've tried a few other hotels but always come back here. The hotel has been undergoing a renovation for a year or so. The service at the bar restaurant has been consistently good. The same bar server has been there for a long time and he's awesome. The menu is limited, but what they have is all very good. I recommend the Chicken Wings if you like them. The hotel rooms that have been renovated are super nice. The concierge room on 15th floor is very cool for the regular Marriott members. It's a nice hotel that seems to be getting better. read more

One night stay during an early morning flight to London UK. The night desk person was very polite, professional and friendly. The lobby was empty for a Xmas night. A few people sat at the bar. One person was in the pool. The room was clean with a cool temperature . Nothing really great nothing really bad. We did go to the pool that evening for about an hour, the temperature was perfect for me night and warm heated !! Early 4 am pick up so we went to sleep early. The van came on time at 4 am and arrived at the cab service area for fast drop off and pick up. I had booked this prior to my arrival back from my trip, the sole reason for this was that I knew I would be too tired to drive all the way home and I wanted to be lazy and extend my vacation just a little. I had wanted something close to the airport which meant less driving for me and more time relaxing after a long day in the air. I had called prior to my arrival because I wasn't sure when my flight was landing just to make sure that my room would still be available when I did arrive. They assured me that it would be there for me and they didn't lie. Check in was easy and I was on my way to my room. I appreciate that I was put all the way at the end of a hall, that is until I realized how far away from the elevator I was, but that really turned out to be a good thing. One thing that I was worried about was being so close to the highway and all the noise. Even though my room was right there, I heard nothing the whole time I was there. The room was set up nicely, well almost. Where the couch was almost blocked being able to close and open the curtains. You really had to maneuver yourself around to get them to do anything. The bathroom was clean and functional. Bed was big and comfortable. I liked the TV set up. You could enter your information for Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming apps and watch whatever you wanted from your account if you could not find anything on that you liked. I did just that, because they didn't have the best selection of shows on the air at that moment. Check out was a bit complicated. Like most places they slide your bill under the door. I looked it over and noticed that it said you can check out via your television. I tried for a solid ten minutes to do this until I just gave up. I figured I had to pass the front desk anyway. When I approached the front desk I was told that feature wasn't available anymore. I couldn't understand why you would give that option if it wasn't available. If it confused me, I'm sure other guests were confused as well. **Things to note here. Bar/restaurant on premise if you wanted food, they do deliver to the room, but limited hours. Pool/fitness area. I was here for a work conference. There were over 300 people here. I went to get a coffee at 1:30 PM and I was told that the coffee shop is closed at 1 PM. It seems like a missed business opportunity to have that many people here and not offer coffee in the afternoon. I will NOT recommend that my agency comes here in future years. read more

As far as airport hotels go, the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott is pretty good. It's big (I think 15 floors) and it's relatively close to the Pittsburgh International Airport (5 miles). There is a bar and a pool and a restaurant and a fitness center. Room service is pretty quick, especially for a hotel of this size and the food is pretty good. They have a free shuttle to and from the airport. The staff is very friendly and they do go out their way to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. read more

The hotel has a good location not too far from the airport and with many restaurants and retail shopping a very short drive. You're not walking to those, but the hotel does have a shuttle service that can be convinced to take you to other than the airport. I did have an upgraded room on a high floor but the room left me thinking that it might not have gotten a complete renovation. It's the little things that let them down. Nothing big. The shower did not have a handrail. There was a small gap in the wall where the faucet cover didn't completely fit. One of the electrical sockets wasn't set completely right. I wasn't able to get the heater to blow any warm air at all. The few people that I interacted with was the usual high quality Marriott employee. Front desk check-in was great and the room was very tidy and clean. Comfortable bed and plenty of pillows. Plenty of power outlets and the wifi worked well. After my last stay, I'm dropping them a star. I still enjoy staying here while in town for business, which is often throughout the year. My disappointment this trip was in the room they placed me in initially. On the 3rd floor, there is an opening from the floor down to the lobby/restaurant. There are rooms on either side of where this opening is. As a result, all the noise from the lobby and bar/restaurant (which can be really loud in the evenings) travels up into your room. I specifically requested a high floor for my reservation for this reason, as I've been placed in these rooms before and dealt with noise when trying to go to sleep. For a one night stay, it isn't really an issue, but for 3-4 nights, it won't work for me. I tried to call down to the desk to get my room switched when I realized where they had placed me, but no one answered. So after a nearly 10 hour day of flying/traveling, I lugged my stuff back down to the lobby to request a different room. The man at the desk, while he seem annoyed, did accommodate my request for a room change, but I had to sacrifice a king bed for two doubles to get away from the noisy 3rd floor. I just can't quite understand why they would even utilize these rooms unless absolutely necessary? Also, its disappointing to me that the "requests" you can enter when making your reservation don't seem to be translated over when you actually check-in. I know it is just a "request", but I always ask for extra pillows and have never once had them in my room upon check-in. Why have the option for requests if they won't ever be acknowledged? I'm still going to utilize the hotel when in town for business, but this last stay left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. read more

The Pittsburgh Airport Marriott is located at the bottom of Aten Road at Cliff Mine Road at the Montour Run exit off of I-376. I've been to this airport hotel numerous times. I've written a review before but it seems that old Yelp listing points to this new one so I suppose I need to write another review. Supposedly they have a new listing because they've renovated and the place is up to date. Honestly between the other times and this visit I'm still quite happy about this place and if I had to look back at it before, the hotel itself didn't seem that out of date. The room we had this go around was visually updated however. There were newer fixtures and lighting perhaps but not all the furniture seemed brand new. Still, it looked relatively well kept and the room was clean, bright and what I've come to expect staying at this place several times before. What I like about this hotel the most is the location, being that it's not far from Robinson shopping and it's very close to the highway. This go around it was a Hotwire bid and I received what I thought was a pretty good price for a weekend day stay (Friday night). There's always been plenty of parking and being so close to the Summit and Town Center there's many places to go to eat that are just an exit away. read more

Came to Pittsburgh for a friends wedding and stayed here out of convenience. I booked well in advance and got an awesome rate. I read some of the other reviews and saw that there are a lot of complaints but I figured I'd give it a chance anyway. I will say that I had some difficulty prior to arriving since Priceline messed up room type/ occupants. When we arrived, they straightened everything out for us. The customer service here is excellent and very accommodating. I had a few different requests and they responded very quickly and brought me everything I needed within minutes. I also ended up needing hairspray and allergy medicine and the shop downstairs had both; the prices were reasonable as well. They also have a shuttle back and forth to the airport. The shuttle also takes people to other places within 5 miles upon request if they aren't on airport runs (airport runs have priority). read more

I was booking for a corporate client that has Marriott status and they were unable to help in anyway. RUDE people on the phone. Marriot, I'm disappointed. It's the little things. Normally, I let the little things slide. Being a special educator in NYC requires it. But over the years it's been engrained within me. It takes quite a bit for me to say much, complain or be rattled. Checking in was easy enough. I handed over my card and was done. An error on my part occurred. I had booked for 2 nights when I needed 3 nights. I asked if I could be accommodated for a third. I was literally told that even though they had 113 rooms left for Sunday night, I would need to go back to my 3rd party booker(Priceline) and book with them. Weird, but I can take the extra steps. The room was clean and inviting. Some mold on the grout on the tiled bathroom wall. 2 bath towels- just enough for me and my son. The room temperature was easily adjustable and comfortable. I realized in the morning there was only one bar of soap for both our bathing and face routine needs. And then realized there was only one face towel and a fingertip towel. I thought it was a fluke, they forgot. As it turns out it was the standard as I saw the single pair again the next day. I had continental breakfast included in my 3 Rd party booking. I asked where I could get my meal. I was directed to the back, behind a bar. It was a fancy enough spread with a check waiting to take your omelet order. I just wanted 2 eggs, a little butter. I then added a piece of pineapple and a slice of tangerine. A waitress asked for my voucher. I must have passed 5 employees on the way in and not one asked for a voucher. I went the the front desk for the voucher and they said that's not the deal I booked. Since I didn't have my phone or wallet, I charged it to the room. And thought I'd clear it later. That meal- 2 eggs, little butter, pineapple chunk and tangerine slice- 15$ Back to my room door and the key it wonky. I went back downstairs to the front desk. 'Can I help you?' Beautiful blonde woman. 'Yes' Again: 'can I help you?' 'My key was giving me trouble. I'm not sure which one it was.' 'I need to see your id' 'Ok' I got my id. She did magnetic card magic. 'Thank you' Beautiful blonde - crickets- This conversation felt empty. Where's the Marriot hospitality? I then asked about my booking and if it included continental breakfast. It did! But I went to the restaurant. I wouldn't have if I had known it wasn't part of my deal. There is a definite lack of communication here with the staff. I did take the extra hour to try to book the room an additional night- it would have been 149$. I looked again and found another hotel across the street from our current one for 54$- comfort inn. I booked that instead and took a picture of 'free continental breakfast included' page. Upon return from an evening outing with my 13 year old, I asked if I could check out now, so that we could just roll into the car in the morning. When I got to the desk the beautiful blonde was there again. 'Can I help you?' 'Yes. Can I clear the bill now so that I can leave early?' 'Why? What's wrong?' She responded rather quickly. 'Nothing. I just thought I could.' 'No. A bill will roll under your door at 3 am. Then we can take care of you in the morning.' 'Ok. Thank you' - crickets - - That bill never rolled in. I used to go for the cheapest deal. I didn't this time. I went for the Marriot experience. It sucks. I wouldn't want to return to this or any other Marriot. I stayed at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott 20 years earlier and was pleased to see, when I entered the lobby, that it had been newly renovated. It was modern, had a lovely bar and many seating areas. It also had a lovely outdoor patio. My wish was that the rooms had been more updated. They were fine. Completely sufficient, but not updated like the lobby. The nightstand had large chips missing out of it and the bathroom was in need of a newer, better working toilet. I will say that I appreciated that the television in the room was A smart tv and had the Netflix and Hulu apps installed which was a lovely treat. The hotel was a good bargain for the price which was just over $100 for a Saturday night but would do better with room updates. read more

My stay November 17, 2019 thru November 22, 2019 Hello, I will not be staying again in this hotel. The reservation was completely incorrect in the system (had me for one night instead of five nights), hotel room dirty, outdated, bathroom toiletries smelled horrendous and there were no unscented options to even the remote control not working properly. Every time I tried to reach out to correct any issues I get the run around or get ignored. To the point that I just gave up. To top things off, the staff was extremely rude and not helpful at all. I can say Valerie did all she could to correct the disaster of reservation in the system with a "sold out" hotel however the manager didn't help in any way. I paid more on site for the room than when I booked online. I received no incentive, no upgraded room, no coupons, no nothing, not even an apology. All I received was thank you for waiting and free breakfast which was already included in my room rate/reservation. And now thinking, I never received my checkout bill. It was never put under my door as they stated it will happen at 3am before check out day. Let's not even talk about employee OT handling calls and shuttle service. In three occasions I was left to wait 45 mins instead of the 5 mins she stated which eventually led to me paying for a Lyft to hotel after I made several calls for status. The company I went to visit was not happy with how much things have changed over there. It is not the first complaint they have received from those who have stayed recently. I have stayed at a Marriot hotel before and this one was very disappointing especially with all the potential it has. I hope you can find ways to improve from hotel room, to reservations, shuttle service and more importantly staff courtesy. Do not forget customer service is #1 in any successful business. The shuttle drivers gave us suggestions on places to eat and were very friendly and prompt. They'll drive you around within 5 miles radius. Hotel staff was very helpful and kind. There's a little store in the lobby just in case you've forgotten to bring necessities. They have Starbucks coffee and great drinks at the bar, also try the apple pie..Delish! I am not only going to write about the hotel experience, but the experience we had as guests at a wedding reception they hosted. The check in experience was pretty typical. Being that we were staying the night and part of a wedding block, we received a breakfast voucher (will get to the breakfast). The room we reserved was a king size suite. The bed was clean. The pillows were long and not square, but feather down (personally not a big fan of feather anything). The bathroom and sink area were clean. However, the tub was a little backed up, as it did not drain as fast as the shower water was coming out. The lobby was big. They had a big area for people to lounge, next to the bar and tvs . The bar had the Edison lights, which are very eye catching and give that sense of calm. The wedding we attended reserved the big ball room and a smaller room across the hallway. The smaller room was the cocktail hour. They had two open bars outside the room in the hallway, with tables for people to sit. The room had antipasto tables and standing tables with a few tables to sit at. The bar tenders were very friendly. The wait staff were also on their game with making sure plates were picked up and also helped those that needed help getting food and drink. The ball room was very big. It accommodated 240 people very comfortably. The dance floor was also large enough so that people had room to boogie. As I said before, the Wait staff were all very professional and accommodating. The food was also very good. My husband and I both ordered the fillet. Mine was cooked at a perfect medium, but my hubs was a little on the rare side however he loves rare so it was ok. Oh! And shout out to the coat room women! She was so so nice! The breakfast was around the bar area in the back. They served Starbucks coffe, and it was a buffet setup. The buffet also provided a omelette station with a omelette chef! The buffet also provided bagels, toast, English muffins, scrambled eggs, fruits, topping for the eggs, sausage, bacon, yogurt, cereals.... I did find that some of the other wedding guests that stayed at the hotel, did not receive their buffet vouchers at the check in desk. The server made sure it was taken care of with no hesitation. I've read of reports of racial discrimination and profiling, I've seen videos of racial discrimination and profiling; however, I've never encountered such a thing personally, until this Marriot hotel on the evening of May 19th. Myself, a family friend and a member of my family, each of us black, professional, educated women in our early 30s were staying for two nights at this hotel to celebrate my sister's graduation at Carnegie Melon University. May 19th was the actual day of her graduation and after having a family dinner to celebrate we returned back to the hotel. Upon entry we noticed a sign that suggested there was a wine event of some sort. We were immediately approached by an associate of the hotel "Jeanie" the catering manager who asked "may I help you?" I casually responded "no, just curious as to the event that is going on tonight" as I read a sign and she responded by saying "there's a wine gala". The way in which she approached us was not in a way to greet us but had the underlying tone that we were actually NOT welcome there. We proceeded to walk past her and sit in the lively occupied lobby for a moment to watch a basketball game. After a few minutes I suggested we go to see what the gala was all about as we all enjoy wines. There were plenty of people who attending the event coming in and out of the lobby bar area and outside and I could tell by the dress that this gala was grandly titled but the dress suggested more of business casual. It was when we proceeded to the event that I physically and verbally acosted. When I turned a corner to the hall where patrons seemed to be coming and going with wine glasses Jeanie immediately steps in my path and asks "may I have your tickets?" I responded, "we don't have any, I'm just curious to the event". She cuts me off and curtly says, "this is a private event, you're going to need to turn around and leave." I have never been spoken to this way before and told her there was no reason for her to use that tone and language with me. She could have politely explained the event, explained tickets were not available, but she automatically assumed we were trying to "crash the event" which was certainly not my or the women who I was with intentions. She immediately escalated the situation by saying "If you don't turn around I will call security" and proceeded to get in my face. I could feel her body on me as I turned around. This altercation happened in front of patrons and was not only threatening, but was humiliating. I told her that she was welcome to call security and that I would love to speak to them and her manager. I asked what her name was and she points to her name tag and says in the most sarcastic tone "would you like for me to spell it for you?". I went immediately over to the front desk and asked to speak to a manager, moments later Bob stepped out. I honestly I don't feel like the situation was handled well at all. After I explained to Bob what happened he asked me what we would like to make the situation better, I never wanted anything but to enjoy my stay at the hotel so I told him I wanted an apology. Me and my party proceeded back to the lobby to watch the game where Jeanie and the head of security a black man (who was tactfully brought over) approached us. Again, causing an entire confrontation in front of a crowded lobby to suggest that we were an issue. She claimed she was coming to apologize for a situation where she was only trying to be helpful to us. The entire "apology" was a set of excuses for her deliberately racist behavior and insinuated that I was lying about the exchange. I'm extremely disappointed in the management of the hotel, their choice of who they employ and specifically their treatment to client's who are paying to stay at their hotel. When you check in and ask if they offer a complimentary breakfast, the check in clerk affirms and gives you directions to the area tucked around the corner from the bar - which one would not find unless one has asked for its location. In the morning, you and the family grab a table and then help yourself. At that point you're informed that there's a cost (you need a voucher, which you may or may not get depending on how you book). So, a normal person thinks 8-10 a person (steep given the quality); nope $18 per person for rubbery eggs and lukewarm food. When I complained front staff who accused me of not paying attention and one noted that I obviously do not frequent high end hotels. B**ch, I've stayed at the Driskoll and the Four Seasons, this Marriott is barely one step up from posting hourly rates. Hyatt will get the coin from our family from now on. read more

Renovated hotel but walls are paper thin. Could hear conversations in next room. Had "accessible" room; tv did not work, coffeemaker not clean, little things overlooked. Food in dining room -- cold when we received but we ate it. Only 1 luggage rack was available to move stuff to your room and this hotel was packed for a hockey tournament and wedding, had to make numerous trips to car to get our things. On positive note, the staff was very friendly and professional. read more
