Ive made such good memories at this school i love my teachers they like to make jokes and interact with their students i especially love my art teacher she is very nice and likes to have fun with the children. Most of the kids there are nice and willing to be friends with you and even the ones that arent willing to be friends with you arent mean to you. What im saying is that the majority of the things about this school are good things and if I ever have children they will absolutley without a doubt be going to Norwayne! :)

The principal is very disrespectful to parents that do not kiss up to him. The principal has DUI's on his record, most recent is a year and a half ago. Some of the office staff are very rude and confrontational. Only a handful of teachers will communicate with parents. The school board doesn't do anything to help if you have an issue with the staff or school. They just contact the school to let them know you called them. I'm very glad we able to remove our child from here and will never have to deal with any of these people ever again!!! I recommend sending your child out of district before sending your child here.

What's the point of a schedule? I sure don't know. Also, the women's restroom on the first floor of the Wayne Learning Center has too many mirrors. It's a perfectly adequate place to pee, but when you're trying to wash your hands and mind your own business, you're in weird-angle funhouse hell. I feel like they could have shaved some off the mirror budget and worked on some good calendars for campus police? Just a thought.

There are some functions in the office area that could use some help. For the first week I was in the wrong class and had i not dug into why I wasn't on the roster I would've never known. There should be some attendance alert email sayn something like "you were marked absent in X class". Also the 1yr residency should not be required for retired military. But I guess I have to write my congressman about that one. I do like that the school is relatively small and easy to get around. It does blow that they don't have a sports program, it would nice to see a baseball, soccer, basketball, or football game. Only thing that disappointed me is that they don't offer much of a selection of seated classes during the summer. Being that I'm using my GI bill to pay for school it is required that I have a traditional seated class. So I was forced to take the summer off. Darn ;) A lot of online courses available. Start registration early especially for those out of state! It takes a while to get all that paperwork together. Be kind to the registration ladies. They are constantly dealing with complaining, angry, huffypuffy customers. The times that I have witnessed this it has not been the office staffs fault. Customers wait till the last minute to get things done and get angry when it's not readily available. Although I think there are ways that the ladies could ease the delivery of bad news or find a way to help the customer find an alternative solution to the problem.

Soooo, Children's World, Greenville blvd…read more As we were leaving for daycare this morning, my 2 year old told me that his teacher, Ms. Keosha, pinched him on his bottom and told him to go to sleep. I went to the daycare, calmly spoke with the assistant director and she asked my son questions. He told her the same thing he told me. They said they would talk to the teacher and call me. In the interim, I contacted DSS to file a complaint and was advised to contact the police to have an official report as this would be considered an assault/abuse. I did that. The police went to the daycare as they stated they would. The director, Michelle, called me and practically scolded me for calling the police. She said that the footage shows the teacher putting her hand towards his bottom and pulling it away quickly. The teacher said she didnt pinch him but she pushed his butt down because it was "in the air" and was wiggling. Pushing his butt down would help him be still to go to sleep . For a good 15 minutes out of the 20 something minutes that I spoke to Michelle, I kept asking that we focus on the investigation rather than the fact that I filed a police report. She basically said that I was the one that called them so I made it part of the conversation. She then proceeded to tell me that since I involved the authorities instead of waiting for her to investigate and call me, effective immediately, he is no longer enrolled in their daycare. We paid them for the month. She would let me know whether or not they will be able to provide a refund. I'm absolutely shocked with this entire situation but I really feel that I did the right thing as a parent. Even if she only pushed his butt down "quickly", laying on his cot awake and wiggling didn't warranted physical redirection of pushing his bottom down to make him lay flat. The fact that she said she observed her hand go toward him and pulling away quickly, to me, suggests it was pushed forcefully if that is what happened. But my child knows the differnce between and pinch and a push. The way the director has handled this is appalling.

We even came back to visit several times after they started kindergarten. And when they did start regular school, they were ahead of the game because they'd both already learned to read and do calculations and tell time. All things that the teachers at Children's Campus worked with them on. I highly recommend it!

Our experience at Children's Campus was deeply disappointing. Although our child had previously…read morethrived in other daycare settings, he struggled significantly here. One of our main concerns was the classroom environment--particularly the teacher, who frequently raised her voice at the children and spoke negatively about children in front of them and how much she is stressed out at her job. She would then complain about our child in front of him and the rest of the class when we arrived at pickup, which we found to be both inappropriate and insensitive. Ultimately, we made the decision to move our son to Children's World at their main campus, where he quickly began to thrive again and had no problems. In contrast to the feedback we received at Children's Campus--where a staff member told us our child would never succeed in Pitt County Public Schools--he has done incredibly well in the public school system. That comment was not only inaccurate, but harmful. If you have a child who is active, curious, or needs more movement throughout the day, this may not be the best environment for them. Our family found the experience to be quite stressful and even traumatic. Additionally, the school's handling of our withdrawal process raised concerns. The heart of the withdraw policy is for them to not lose a payment. While other childcare centers we've been part of were flexible about notice periods because they would not lose any money due to their long waitlist--Children's Campus was rigid and seemed more focused on financial gain. They had a waitlist and many individuals to fill our spot- thus no lost money. But they still chose to be inflexible. I would steer clear from the place. The first part made me think it was just a bad teacher, but soon I realized they are just concerned with financial gain in general.

This review is just based on doing the parent/student tour -…read more Wow! First of all, gorgeous campus! The brand new 220,000 thousand square foot student services building is amazing! The school store is located in there, along with Panda Express, Au Bon Pain, more dining and the 4th campus Starbucks! The overall campus is so pretty and we were lucky enough to have a fantastic tour guide, Brooke P. who is also from WF. The school has so many state of the art features, new buildings, gorgeous facilities and the grounds are so beautifully landscaped. Our tour guide definitely has Pirate pride and really loves the school, she answered all of my questions and I can see why so many kids pick ECU. Our daughter is definitely applying, remains to be seen if she'll be accepted and or attend ECU, but if she chose this school, based on what we saw today, I think she'd be quite happy here!

Based on my self-guided walking tour of campus on this day before the official start of Spring and…read moreamidst the COVID-19 shutting down of the university, I will say campus is beautifully landscaped, architecture is impressive and today it was incredibly peaceful. Walking the campus is totally accessible. There are many outdoor features to enjoy from fountains to memorials and a stray cow and Pirates.
