Schenevus, however you pronounce it (we asked a local and I can't remember), is one of those towns. And this gas pump is clearly as back-woods as you can get. You can't pay at the pump, you don't pay in advance, and there is one pump handle per grade of gas. When you lift the lever to start pumping the old fashioned meter starts rolling as you depress the handle. The store was just your regular convenience store... nothing special. I didn't like how the employees were discussing their business problems with the customers, as I thought that was unprofessional. Perhaps in Schenevus everything is open and shared. While I never try to end up in this little town, I seem to find myself getting gas here several times. If you want an old fashioned experience, come here.
