It's right on the beautiful beach. Everyone wears a wristband while staying there so their security knows if anyone is trespassing. The audiovisual team for our event was amazing. The only things I didn't like were that there was no ramp on the side where the banquet halls are located by the parking lot so anything you have has to be carried up stairs or you have to go all the way to the front entrance. They need more diabetic-friendly snack options for guests. We have several guests with dietary restrictions. The catering staff did excellent with their meals. Lastly, the elevators are smaller than normal which isn't really a big deal until checkout time. This resort has a shuttle to different parts of the town which was really nice. From the moment we checked in, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel like VIPs. Our room was immaculate, cool, quiet, and serviced impeccably every day. The refreshment/ snack center lines the breezeway onto the expansive veranda and steps down to the beach. It's stocked with guests favorites to enjoy 24/7. A glass door refrigerator is kept stocked with variety of Coca Cola brand soft drinks & bottled water. Lower shelves are kept well stocked with all kinds of Mars and Hershey candies from Milky Ways to M&Ms. Pretzels, Sun Chips and more varieties of Miss Vicky's potato chips. Starbucks drink machine rounds it out with a variety of hot drinks and iced coffee, made to order in under two minutes! Chocolate chip cookies fresh from the kitchen always available in registration area. Meals from their five star award winning pinched and culinary team can't be over stated. And the beach area (my reason for choosing Henderson) is gorgeous and pristine! -- it's lovely and never overcrowded, with staff constantly checking in to offer fresh towels, cold drinks, lunch and shaded setups. The dining options offered incredible variety and top-tier quality every single meal. All meals are à la cart. I enjoy this freedom to purchase specifically what I want rather than carrying a degree of cost for courses I don't order. Our meals were absolutely perfection! What truly sets Henderson Park Inn apart is the genuine warmth of the entire team. They didn't just manage a busy July week; they made us feel completely relaxed, pampered, and at home. Now at home we've realized this one week revitalized us better than two weeks anywhere else could've. Destin is a convenient location for most of the southeast. We live 6 1/2 hours drive away- pretty typical distance for many people in the southeast. We were at breakfast with our granddaughter and the kids, by the way it was really good. A nice lady, who I would later learn is the Market Director of Sales (Leslie) genuinely engages us and our granddaughter in conversation, inquiring about our experience and stay. She graciously disengages and we go about are breakfast...until she returns with a Disney princess comic gift set for my granddaughter. I've been Bonvoy Titanium 9 of the last 10 years, and Ambassador 1 of those years, and lifetime Platinum . When I tell you this is the most authentic and appreciative Marriott experiences I've had...she absolutely went out of her way. My Bonvoy status (or my son's, platinum as well) was not a factor...this was genuine unprompted customer engagement.

We also found the continental breakfast to be very well-equipped with a wide variety of options for vegans and meat eaters alike. In our room, we had a nominal supply of coffee and tea albeit the creamer was spoiled, as well as a small selection of dishes, silverware, and utensils. Additionally, the 24-hour access to the exercise room was a great feature, and the ice machine on the main floor was available for guest. However, there were several areas where our experience fell short: - Housekeeping: We requested room cleaning twice and were told service is only provided every other day. When our room was finally cleaned, the staff informed us they were out of towels and had to wait for laundry to finish. - Plumbing: The showerhead had almost no water pressure, with water only dripping out at a very slow level. - Kitchen Amenities: While the room featured a cooktop, there were no pots or pans available to use with it. - Pool Area Maintenance: The pool area was quite dirty throughout our stay, with sand, dirt, Band-Aids, and Styrofoam on the floor. The water was very cloudy, and there were no pool towels available after the first day. - Facility Security: The grill area by the pool appeared to be open to the public, as the gate did not require a key card. This resulted in the area being crowded nearly every night. - Noise: The climate control unit in the room was exceptionally loud. Robin the first heard the problem which was a situation that was my fault heard me out then passed the information onto James. Robin called me via the phone in my room number and said James was waiting on me at the front desk. I went down and James completely already knew the problem and solved the issue and said enjoyed the rest of your stay. I was and am still extremely impressed.
