Not being our approved mechanic for our car's warranty, the owner contacted the warranty company to provide them his certifications so that he could work on our car. Being almost across the road from home, it was so convenient. It was our brakes that were worst and the car was virtually not drivable by the time we got it there. It was also in dire need of a service. For $60 they changed the calipers and pads on the brakes and for just another $60 completely serviced it as well. All in one day. Nothing seemed too much trouble and they were even smiling when we went to pick it up. Great service, at a fantastic price, locally. What more could you want?

They found the LH wheel was over tightened and the RH wheel was under tightened. They then over tightened the RH to be same as LH. When driving away the linings over heated, burned and the car stopped by itself. It cost a further $132 at another garage to machine the drums again and have the brakes correctly adjusted. Their action was irresponsible and totally lacking in customer care.

I've been going here for over 5 years and have had nothing but a perfect service from the team…read moreevery time. The workmanship is above and beyond what I have received in any other workshop and I would and do recommend this workshop to my family and friends. The first time I really tested them was at an old employer when my boss couldn't get a brake error cleared when he was driving. He tried Ford and several others with no success. I then recommended Clint to my boss who I had only been to a couple of times and he received his car with no error and very little charge for the work done compared to ford and the other individual mechanics. Since then, I have came to him with both complicated and very hard repairs which not only has he completed, but has done so with outstanding results. As for the review below, if he recommends new brake rotors then maybe accept the qualified mechanic's opinion instead of demanding a 3rd party machinist to file down your rotors and then complain. I've known these guys for a long time and if they didn't send it in to be machined it would probably be because there was nothing left to be skimmed!

Arrive at the shop to be told only one disc was machined and that it 'may' drive a little different. Driving home it becomes apparent the car is now undrivable. Call them back and get some half a$$ed, pathetic response. My brakes were better before I went to this mob and now my car is not safe to drive!!! I had to book my car into a brake specialist (writing this from Brakes plus frankston) the very next day and they showed me the shoddy workmanship done on the one rotor. Robin from brakes plus asked me what kind of machine was used, that's how bad the job is. I cannot stress how negative my experience was. If i could vote no stars, I would. They obviously do not care about their customers safety unless they can upsell you on their products. Please avoid and save yourself the worry and stress. Businesses like this should be made accountable for their dodgy workmanship and blatant disregard for the public's safety when all they care about is making a buck. Hopefully this review saves someone else the hassle of dealing with this business.

WARNING!! CROOKS or just UNPROFESSIONAL?! After being referred by our long-time trusted mechanic,…read moreBrett at the Local Village Garage, I had my LR Discovery towed to BBE Automatic where upon inspection Harry informed me there was "severe damage" to the transmission. I thought this was odd for a well-kept Disco with only 115k kms, but he continued saying there was "no gearing", "parts rattling around inside" and it "definitely had to come out". He explained he wouldn't know for sure the full extent of the damage and repair until he pulled it, but in any case it would cost at least $4,500 - $5,000 to repair. When pressed for a less expensive option he said we could save a grand replacing it with a second-hand transmission, but there would be no assurance to its condition and would only come with a two-month warranty, which would only cover another replacement transmission, NOT the $1,800 in labour to swap it out again. I called around for other quotes and they all came in around the $4k to $5k mark, but they all questioned if I was SURE it needed a new transmission as they didn't think it was likely with such low Ks. One shop in particular seemed especially knowledgeable and helpful, Les Richmond Automotive, and after speaking at length with the owner, Andrew, he said he'd diagnose it himself, as he too thought it was unlikely, but IF the transmission needed replacing he could replace it with a second-hand unit with less than 120k kms on it, with a three-month warranty (including all labour should it need to be swapped out again) for under $3k. He promptly followed-up with a written quote and I had the car towed from BBE to his shop shortly thereafter, when to my huge surprise I received a call from Andrew informing me that he had the car running fine before the tow truck had left his shop! Obviously, given Harry's/BBE's prognosis of "severe damage" and "rattling parts" I was stunned, and incredibly relieved! Andrew informed me that he knew the transmission was likely fine as it grinded when he put it in 'park', so he dropped it into 4WD and it all worked fine thereafter. Apparently the 4WD shift had disengaged the transmission (kids climbing over the centre console or similar) and it just needed to be reengaged. Problem solved, too easy! Andrew wouldn't comment on the "severe damage" or "rattling parts", only to say the car was in good condition and the transmission was running perfectly. Following that conversation I called Harry at BBE to let him know what had happened and I was disappointed that a transmission specialist didn't pick up on the fact it was only disengaged, and even more disappointed he insisted there was "severe damage", "rattling parts" and it "definitely had to come out", to which his only response was he was "sorry" and "just assumed it was no good". WTF!? I would have been out $4-5k to replace a perfectly good transmission! Are these guys crooks, or just completely unprofessional!?
