This was a good, cheap meal ($135 pesos) but very confusing system imo? To call it a buffet implies self-service in my opinion, which this is not. They give you one plate and one bowl, and you take it up to a counter where you select what dishes you want. Nothing is labeled, but it was a few guisados with vegetables, frijoles, pasta, etc. It's super unclear if you're supposed to choose one main with sides or if you just pick whatever you'd like.
There are a couple of self serve fried items but it's unclear if you're meant to take one of each or if it's just whatever you want. Just a very confusing system and as far as I could tell, not explained anywhere. Also, I speak enough Spanish where I would have understood if they had told me about the system.
They do give you a glass for aguas which are self serve. I had agua de melon which was refreshing.
The food was tasty (especially the chicken) and economical, I will say, and service was FAST. I just wish it was a bit more prescriptive about how it actually works.
Would return even in my confusion, lol. read more
