I don't get what's with that other review. Bottom line: you buy crap quality, don't expect it to work like something decent. You can't go off of how something looks. You have to know the product, and if you don't know, ask the staff (more specifically Sandra). Please also be mindful that there is a sign on the door when you walk in that clearly states no returns/exchanges... etc. That being said, I was so tired of my boyfriend's piece "Bilbo." It was small and just nothing special. We stopped in because this is the shop he used to come to and we were in town visiting his parents. Upon entry, a gentleman checked our IDs and asked if we were looking for anything I'm particular. He pointed out the areas and said he'd be right with us. He quickly returned and we started off with the glass pipes. He made an excellent recommendation on a local creator and even took one out and tapped it roughly on the counter top to demonstrate the durability of that artist's pieces. We both agreed durable was the way to go. He pulled out a small array of colors but, of course, I wanted the pink one. Plus, it has this awesome honeycomb design on the side opposite of the carb. That was definitely unique. We then moved on to the water bongs. That's where the guy seemed to be lacking in knowledge. He showed us a few and then asked us what our budget was. I told him there was none and that we wanted something with a good quality and was nice to look at. He fumbled around with a couple pieces and then as I'm looking at the RayBaby case, he proceeds to show us pieces on the other side of the wall. I instantly shook my head. Cheap price and quality. I can spot them just at a glance. He's picking up all these ones with cool designs... Yeah, that's cute. That's when Sandra swept by as I was reemphasizing that I didn't want cheap, I wanted GOOD. She said "then you definitely want to be on the other side. I'll be right with you." Just like that, she took me right to where I was standing moments prior: the Raybaby case. She was very knowledgeable about glass pipes in general and had a very positive, upbeat and friendly attitude. She explained a few of the differences and pointed out a few of her favorites. She even showed us a video of a nice piece she had blown for her. We made our choice and headed for check out. Sandra rang us up and carefully wrapped our purchases. She also was able to multitask and help other customers check out while wrapping our stuff. She told us when she worked and welcomed us to come back and see her with any questions or whenever we're looking for something new.
Pipe Dreams is a decent sized shop in an ok-ish area with a decent variety of product, fair prices, and attentive, knowledgeable staff. We will be back soon! read more
