I really hate leaving negative reviews and only do it when I feel absolutely necessary. I haven't even had an appt with the doctors at this office yet but have already had terrible experiences. It is already so frustrating and hard to understand and navigate infertility as a patient, and this office does not make that any easier. I have received wrong and conflicting information from different people multiple times now. I'm literally in tears because it is all so hard to navigate. As someone who has seen an out of state fertility doctor (and had a wonderful experience) and had a successful IVF retrieval, transfer, and given birth to rainbow baby, the fertility doctors office really should do everything possible to ease this very difficult process for patients. read more

I am surprised by the negative reviews on here, but I understand everyone's experience is different. In response to someone's negative comment about the billing office, they definitely seem to be behind on billing but in my opinion you have to take their perspective that they are shuffling so many patients through their office every day and just have a lot to keep up with. I have never had a mistake on any of my bills -- they do sometimes take a little longer to arrive compared to other doctor offices but that doesn't bother me... honestly it's fine because it gives me longer to pay them! In response to the negative feedback about Dr. Maseelall, I had an absolutely wonderful experience with her. I never felt like she was condescending as someone else said, but rather I actually felt like she explained things to me kindly, in simple terms, and made comparisons/metaphors that helped me understand what was going on with my body and what decision I needed to make. For example, when explaining why it is recommended to freeze embryos and wait a cycle after retrieval/before transfer, she explained that my body needed to reset after all the hormone stims like an oven that was too hot and we wanted to bake cookies. We don't want to put the cookies in when the oven is too hot, we need to let everything be perfectly regulated in order to hope to obtain the best result, so letting my body reset for a cycle will help it become the best place it can be for a baby to grow. Even in terms of deciding to do IVF in the first place, Dr. Maseelall helped us understand our odds of success with each option we had (trying naturally vs IUI vs IVF) as well as the financial undertakings and timelines of each. I can understand why someone might think that they are pushing IVF if that's how you interpret the recommendations, but I believe you'll get that anywhere because IVF has had such higher success rates and the process has been able to be so scientifically refined overtime to further increase success. This does obviously depend on personal medical history and cause of infertility but from who I've talked to, I do not personally know of anyone who has had success with IUI but I know many who have had IVF babies. All that to say, after an evaluation, an egg retrieval and two frozen embryo transfers, we are now so thankful for our experience at RGI and are awaiting the arrival of our miracle IVF baby in just three more months! PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU SEE A DOCTOR AT THIS PRACTICE! Here you aren't a patient, you are a talking pocketbook. We hadn't begun trying to conceive yet but my ob/gyn recommended we have a basic fertility workup done due to my pre exsisting conditions. Dr. Maseelall introduced herself and quickly began quoting IVF prices. I thought it was unprofessional to not ask what had brought us there but I thought that maybe it was in the chart by mistake. So, I told her that my Hematologist said I could, under no circumstances, take any hormones because I'd had blood clots multiple times on hormones, and I stated as much. To which she replied she could "talk to them" about it; which I took to mean "I know better than the doctors at Mayo Clinic who specialize in autoimmune related blood disorders". I've had 3 doctors who stated the same warning, so it wasn't a matter of getting a second opinion. It's a fact that in my case, hormones have proven to repeatedly cause blood clots, which can be fatal. So for a doctor to not even ask what brought me in and not listen to a legitimate medical concern is not only unprofessional, it's unethical. To be fair to the rest of the practice and Dr. Maseelall, I know they do help patients who actually need ivf or other treatments to conceive so I'm not questioning their capabilities, but they are unquestionably bypassing ethical standards to push the bottom line. I recommend anyone visiting this practice to insist on testing to confirm the need for treatments and to get second opinion before entrusting your life and savings to these salespeople. read more

I can not talk to the other doctors but please do not see Dr. Priya Maseelall. I've read other reviews and I feel like I'm seeing a completely different person. Lol, Not only have I felt Dr. Maseelall to be cold, smug and rude, but also felt at times unethical. First off, before coming my obgyn had collected a blood panel from me to check my hormone levels. I also had been diagnosed with pcos. My obgyns recommendation was that because of my pcos, they next step would be to get prescribed clomid, or something that will help with my hormones so I can ovulate. My first visit there and Dr. Maseelall preformed a internal ultrasound to check on my ovaries. Took her only 2 minutes to stick it in then out and say "your ovaries look fine" and "I didn't see any cysts on them " which as evidenced by her tone , body language and the way she looked at me sounded like "you don't have pcos, and I know more than you because I'm a doctor." Smug as ever. I conveyed to her that I would appreciate not having to do further testing since I know what the issue on hand was. She continues to lecture me because she is "the doctor " and I convey that I understand but ultimately would like to be on clomid. She walks out and they hand me a list, then a nurse quickly goes over everything as they practically push me out the door because they were closing. I had to call them back and explain what to do because I was so confused about everything. For my second visit with Dr. Maseelall I had to get a biopsy of my uterus. She pops in the room with a student or practicing student who've I've never met before and quickly says "this is so and so, is it okay if she does your biopsy?" Instead of saying no I felt pressured into letting her perform the exam on me while Dr. Maseelall watched. So hi I just met you but please stick a prong up my vagina. Ethically I thought it was very wrong but again because she's the "doctor " I felt like I couldn't say no. The student took longer than usual and to say it was a painful and difficult procedure is putting it lightly. I have a high pain tolerance but I felt like the student didn't know what she was doing and again Dr. Maseelall was very rude, not personable at all and very cold. I understand that they have to also complete hours for their program but I wish I would have been able to meet her before or had a more pleasant experience. After leaving another nurse came in and talked to me about what she wanted me to do...and the other tests I needed to complete. 3 and a half months later after doing her tests and owing them over $600 I finally meet with her do to a follow up where she starts lecturing me about having a high sugar level and being pre-diabetic. When I questioned her integrity and if she knew anything about PCOS because I didn't have to take a blood test to know this, she said "well I'm the doctor" first off don't talk to me like I'm dumb or condescending I don't appreciate it. Don't talk to me like you know more than me. LISTEN. Which she never did. I felt like from the moment I stepped in her office my concerns, what I wanted as a patient was cast aside. I swear it's like all she cared about was her own agenda.I know some doctors get a god complex but to see it in person really makes you question seeing a doctor ever again. It's scary and infuriating. As the patient listen to my concerns. I felt like I was just jumping through hoops when from the get go I felt like I was never heard, or respected. I have been made to feel like a dumbass who needs to shut up and do what she recommends even though again, my ob had told me that getting prescribed Clomid would help my hormones so I can ovulate. I don't know why I was treated this way but I will not be seeing her smug face any more. This whole practice has left a very bad taste in my mouth and if I can prevent another person going from what I did it was worth it. I am now consulting with my ob to go to another fertility specialist because I do not trust these people at all. Please run. Oh and btw they know more than you. read more

My fiancé saw Dr. Maseelall for continuing problems with endometriosis. Dr. Maseelall went above and beyond for us. Occasionally we worked with the other Drs.. who were also AWESOME. Mostly friendly staff but I'm there to see the dr. not the secretary. She also helped us get pregnant with our first child. I would 100% recommend this office. read more

These doctors are great at what they do. You are quick to get an appointment. The doctors and staff are very friendly and compassionate. Whether you are there to start a family or have other female problems, you can expect top-notch treatment. The only drawback is that you may have a longer than desired wait to be seen while there. However once the doctors are with you, they take their time to explain all of your options. read more

Dr Masala is wonderful although the billing can be misleading mess. Read your docs religiously and stay on top of their billing. It's hit and miss. read more

Let me start this review off by saying that I absolutely love Dr. Maseelall. She is helpful, kind, patient, and actually makes me feel like my fertility struggles matter. I would give her 10 stars if I could! However, I have been coming to the Akron office for a number of years, and the biggest problem I have is how long it takes for my phone calls to be returned. Unless you are a first time patient or need to schedule something simple like an annual exam, you have to schedule or talk to a nurse. Good luck getting ahold of anyone. No one is ever at the nurses desk so I always have to leave a message. Which is inconvenient because I am calling when I have a break at work. Then they call me back, often it doesn't even sound like they listened to my message. Usually, again because I am at work, they have to leave me a message. And the game of phone tag commences, usually resulting in me having to step away from my desk to take the call. It's not uncommon for it to be 5+ hours before I hear back the first time. Lately, however, my calls are not even being initially returned until the next day. I understand that the nurses are busy, but this is ridiculous. I should not have to wait an entire day just to schedule an appointment. Give the front desk receptionists the ability to schedule a simple beginning cycle ultrasound. Or the last hour of the day have a nurse specifically returning phone calls, even if it's just to say we will talk to the doctor first thing in the morning and call you back. At least I know my message was received. Heck hire an extra person whose job is to sit at the desk and take all of these calls and return them. I don't really care what you do, but something needs to change. I feel like Dr. Maseelall is invested in helping me and the rest of her patients, but not the rest of the office. I am spending a *lot* of money at this office, I would appreciate at least if my phone calls were answered and returned. My rating is solely for the office itself, again Dr. Maseelall is wonderful. read more

Dr Maseellal was very kind and a great doctor, however, the rest of the staff was terrible with communication. Nobody called when they said they would. They also kept a credit I had on the account (I put on the account for future treatment, however, got pregnant and no longer needed it) even though my insurance paid in full they won't refund the money to me. Nobody will call me back about it either. I'm irate over it all. Infertility is already a difficult time to deal with on top of an uncaring doctor staff and no problem solving. Nobody will take hold of the issue and always passes the buck. read more
