Explained to me a few ways to cut cost and how he will finish the job. So, there are no surprises to his work. Really can't ask for a better builder. Will recommend Micah to my friends and will use him again if I need his help again.

Micah Jansson provided general contracting services during renovations to my townhouse. From start…read moreto finish, Michah proved to be much more than a contractor - he was a trusted partner who played an integral role in the success of my project. Micah's skill level and construction expertise is second to none - I came to rely on his fine touch with an exacting eye for detail. An example of this skill was his work filling and blending a gap in some wood flooring, hand-painting wood grain to blend the wood fill patch to create a seamless effect. His specialties also include tilework and waterproofing, as he has had extensive training and practice building tile saunas in his home of Finland. During my project, Micah also worked wonders with drywall and smoothing wall surfaces with drywall mudding and painting techniques, amongst other work. Most importantly, Micah is someone I can to put my whole and complete trust in. He is not only a highly skilled worker, he is honest, and completely transparent and open in how he does his work - a quality that is exceedingly hard to find in these days of fly-by-night construction outfits. He always keeps his word and makes it a priority to be there for his clients. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Micah for any of your construction needs, large or small, and hope that I can use him for a future kitchen and bathroom renovation.

My wife and I wish to express our deepest gratitude for the excellent work that Creative Concepts…read moreCarpentry did at our house in 2010, specifically to install replacement windows, doors and trim. Considering the abnormally high number of problems in our larger renovation project, including repeated delays in the delivery of materials and often either defective or incorrect materials, they were clearly set a considerable challenge. Not only did they meet that challenge, but they exceeded our expectations in every respect. Also, due to the many project failures, my wife and I became extremely sceptical of the various construction trades. Through the concerted efforts of Creative Concepts Carpentry, they proved that it is possible for a homeowner to find competent, ethical and highly proficient people in the construction industry. We were most impressed by the professionalism, communication skills, cleanliness, respect for the homeowner, and technical proficiency of Darren Seaman, the owner of Creative Concepts Carpentry, and his team. They are to be commended for this and should be considered a role model for not only other carpentry companies but for the construction industry in general.

Mr. Kerr makes live edge wood slab tables for the lower mainland from Bowen Island. You can find…read morehis work on Craigslist. Good - beautiful Douglas Fir wood slab - delivered to Vancouver at no charge. - great price at around $2000. Bad - Communication: He didn't listen to to my wants. So the end result wasn't completely custom. Light coloured table - check. 3x5ft size - check. Water based, low VOC finish - check. Bark on - nope. Rock solid foundation - nope. I am still waiting on the email I sent him regarding these issues a week ago. There have been numerous emails that I sent him with questions that have yet to be answered. - Base/ legs: It all starts with a strong foundation. The table was awesome, but the legs were not secure. My table wobbled. Over time, the screws will get loose and the slab will unsecure itself from the legs. This is not good if it lands on you. I asked for 2 square legs. I got u-shaped legs. There are 4 holes per base. Only 2 screws were fastened into each leg with the exception of one, which had 3. Some screws were crooked and not screwed all the way in. Result is a wobbly table. Additionally, the legs have rust. - shipped in the back of his truck open to the elements. I'm thankful it wasn't raining on delivery day. The bottom of the legs were all scratched up. - you will need yourself or someone to help him carry it to your room, if you are not able to lift heavy. Summary: beautiful wood slab and sub-par foundation. He's a skilled carpenter, not a metal worker. I recommend you get him to finish a wood slab, and get someone else to fabricate and install the legs/joinery for you.
