I came here to dump my broken TV stand before I moved out of Switzerland. I wish I had known about…read morethis place earlier, as I was trying to sell off and give away all my belongings one at a time before leaving the country. It was a lot of stress and work, and if only I had known how convenient this place was for recycling and dumping, then I would have just borrowed a car and taken all of my stuff here in one fell swoop. Haha. I think it costs money by weight for dumping stuff you don't want, but I didn't have that much to toss and was able to use the free coupons that come with the garbage/recycling calendar each year. It was amazing to see the stuff that people were throwing away... it was basically piled up high in a heap of junk. Being eco-conscious Switzerland, I think they recycle as much as they are able to and then incinerate the rest? Not entirely sure though. Be aware that this place isn't that convenient to get to on foot, so you'll need a buddy who can drive you or to borrow a car to get here.

Last Saturday, I finally ventured into this place to check out what a Swiss thrift store looks…read morelike. This place is HUGE... and filled with junk. Racks and racks of old paintings, linens, clothes, books, dishes, pots, pans, old electronics, xmas decorations, lamps, etc. All covered in dust and giving off the same musty smell. Ick. It's amazing the kind of stuff they have for sale--Chinese soup spoons, archaic sewing machines, VHS players, diving flippers, plastic cups and aluminum foil?! (Now, really--who's going to buy plastic cutlery from a thrift store?!) My bf was excited about discovering the motherload of escargot tongs and what looked like the first Playstation ever invented, while I was marveling at the evolution of raclette machines running down the aisle. Prices for some of the more decent things were comparable to those at IKEA, so I guess I would rather buy a new set of dishes than pay the same amount for some used ones. Remarkably, there were lots of people browsing with bags in hand, so I suppose they were seriously hunting for treasures. Although it was kind of interesting to browse around once, I don't think I'm really a thrift store person. But this is your cup of tea, then you might want to visit this massive place.

You will then notice to your left the entrance to a Subterranean Parking garage. "Hey-why didn't I park my car in the garage", you may ask. Well...the reason is is that the store is IN THE PARKING GARAGE! Yes, no cars are allowed because the garage has been turned into a Thrift Store (or Brocki or Brockenhaus). And not just any thrift store but a three floor thrift WAREHOUSE!! Tons of stuff (not many clothes, though). Thousands of books (separated into different Languages). thousands of record albums and a lot of 45's, and hundreds of paintings! Tons of kitchen ware-mugs, bowls, glasses, BEER STEINS, and then I came across the Fondue Plates-THOUSANDS OF THEM! Upstairs we found tons of most everything, raclette makers and fondue pots were very common! We saw nothing with prices on them. Sure, occasionally there were price sheets in German with some prices, but since reading German is not my strong point, we blindly took our purchases to the register and found out that almost everything we got was a Dollar each or less! Wow, tons of stuff and cheap , too. I love this place!!

Being informed that Sertronics would charge 1700 CHF to repair a camera that costs 1300 CHF brand…read morenew was one thing. Worse was that Sertronics stated that I must pay nearly 120 CHF just to have it returned to me and that at minimum, I had to pay Sertronics over 100 CHF just for them to throw it away! I will tell all of my friends never to do business with Sertronics. If a customer does not agree with a repair estimate, the possession should be returned free of charge - in this case, only return postage to pay. I am appalled and dismayed.

This is the biggest rip-off in Switzerland. I had a TV to repair, I sent them pictures before…read moretaking the TV to have an estimation of the price. They wrote that the reparation would be around CHF140. Ok ,good to go, I understand that it is an estimation and it might be even double but I was ok with that. I take the TV to them and two days later they tell me that the reparation is CHF1100!!! That's more expensive than at the same TV new. Even like this I understand that electronic devices might be complicated and more a TV, of course at that price I won't repair, I would rather buy a new one. But now comes the creepy part, they just give me the option to throw away the TV to recycle charging me more than CHF100!!!, return the TV unrepaired for CHF226!!!!!!! or repair for CHF1100. If I wanted my TV back unrepaired I had to pay 226 swiss francs, this is ridiculous, so I paid this for having my TV back feeling myself totally stupid. With no doubts this is a good business, of course they never mention this about this when you leave the TV. Think twice before using this service it is a total abuse.
