As time passed being here, I realized I really wanted to experience more of the local places. And man is this one of them. The husband and wife that run the shop are the most welcoming and the place makes me feel like I've traveled back in time when I walk in. The quality is unmatched. When I mentioned we loved the bakery to him and had rated a bit of breakfast there every day in Florence, he said he did know of the place and it was his go to bakery but he would not have thought the recommend it to tourists! While everything we tried was delicious, they make a little savory potato and rosemary pastry that was to die for. We stopped and got a bag full for our trip to Rome the day we left. A real local gem. No coffee here but suck it up and drink water or take back to your hotel and enjoy. Most probably would not venture over if not staying in the area, but do if you are.

We stopped by there almost daily during our stay to get some cookies for our snack. Cookies are by weight. We only tried the ones without chocolate (they don't melt in our bag) and all were delicious. My favorite item was the crostata. They are on the bottom shelf. Flavors are cherry, blueberry and apricot. They have a nutty crust with sweet jam. So good!

American/Aussie owned bakery brunch spot by the river, such a cute little eatery. We loved our visit and though it's definitely more of a touristy spot, as most customers spoke English, the food was delicious to forgo the tourist trappy vibes. We shared a plate and added some items as we didn't want to get too stuffed on our first day of Florence. We had the Nduja Eggs plate with bacon and avocado added. Nduja is a spicy Calabrian pepper spreadable pork sauce, and oh boy was it so flavorful. If I remembered correctly, Melaleuca spread this sauce on top of a fried bread and eggs. I don't see it on the menu at the moment and it's probably a rotatable dish... but it definitely kicked started my hunt for the sauce. Since this is a spreadable pork, it's not something I could bring back to the US but I was able to find it online back home. The service was amazing and the beverages were delicious. Like many Italian places, the dining room is small and bathroom is a single small room that might require a small wait if they're busy. Didn't get to try their baked goods this last time, but definitely on our list to go back for more when we're back to Florence for a visit.
