Larger than some of the Pingo Doce convenience stores. One thing I like about the Pingo Doce is that one can buy individual containers of some items such as yogurt that are normally sold in packs of four. They also have their own house brands of various products. For thirty-something cents one can buy a small container of Pingo Doce red or white wine. (The red is not very good; the white is just very bland, though some of it went into our soup with good effect...) There's lots of wines in the 1 to 2 Euro range, a paradise for a wino, or someone who just wants to try various things to drink. And more expensive wines can be found there too. People don't jam their carts to the brim so one doesn't have to wait as long. Prices really arent much if any higher than at the larger stores....
This store could be better marked - the first time I passed it a block to the west - looking for a place to buy some food, and couldn't see a sign from there. After I knew where it was, I still didn't see a sign till I was right on it. read more
