I give the ambiance 5 stars. Love how the old and new architecture are infused for the perfect Pinehurst Brewery feel. We sat outside on the covered patio. Heat lamps are hung from the rafters above all the outdoor seating so no one should get cold. The 3 stars come in for service and menu selection. It took about 10 minutes from the time we were seated to see our server. It took another 5 minutes to get our drinks. Because we had ample time to review the menu, we knew our order. However, when the server came she informed us they only serve pizza from 3-5pm. I guess this makes sense from a staffing perspective but it should be made clear before seating us with the full menu in hand and 10 minutes to ponder. The pizza was wood fired, thinner crust, and well prepared. Only 3 beers on tap but all regional. Menu prices are appropriate. They have only been open a few weeks and to be fair they need some time to work out the service kinks. The location, building, and food is worth the visit. read more

Stopped for dinner after a long day of golf and walked away very satisfied. As with most places we had to wait for a table but they have a nice patio where you can sit and sip or guzzle one of their fine brews. Appetizers were good - wings had a smoky flavor and the fried okra, pickles and cheese was tasty but a bit salty. All entries seemed to hit the spot and satisfy. This is a cool joint located in the village of Pinehurst. I had the pulled pork sandwich with smoked mac and cheese as my side. The bbq was cooked to perfection. Very tender and extremely flavorful. The mac and choose was packed with flavor as well. They only have their beers on tap so I had one of their stouts. It was decent. The atmosphere and vibe here is top notch. Went to grab a beer with friends tonight, and it overall was not great, especially my interactions with Lee Smith and Stephanie Doggett. They told me last call was 10:30 (close at 11pm), so I went to order a last drink at 10:20 and Stephanie Doggett told me they weren't serving anymore because it was kind of dead and she already cleaned the taps & wanted to go home. I asked to speak to her manager, Lee Smith, and she came and told me I had been flagged. I asked what that meant and Lee said I had too much to drink and needed to leave. Having one beer and on my way to order a second, I was extremely confused. I asked if my entire group had been flagged and she said yes. Came to visit some friends and we decided to come here for diner. Love the atmosphere, there's indoor and outdoor seating. Live music when we walked in. There's a little shop where you can buy some goodies on the way out. We got there and started with a handful of appetizers. We had the fried cheese curd, okra, beer cheese, and wings to start. There were about 7 of us? This was enough food to start with!. The crunch to the pretzels with the beer cheese was perfect. The wings that we ordered were well done. The fried cheese curd? Delicious and not overly greasy. To drink, most of us ordered the English resilience, it's not too heavy of a beer. To drink most of the table ordered a brisket or do a plate ( 7 sides of meat) and two sides. I decided to order the smoked turkey sandwich and also had a side of the Mac and cheese. Pinehurst Brewery is not only a community favorite, but it's managed by a stellar team and management. Recently, we hosted a group of 25 people for lunch/brunch, and had the most amazing time. The food was great - including their BBQ, wings, and beer cheese pretzels. Our servers Cameron and Lauren were amazing - as well as Azaria and Carrie - super attentive and helpful! But their manager, Brentley, was beyond the best! He helped make sure we have a perfect event, with the best service, and just an overall great experience. Best place in town. After trying many of the restaurants in the area, Pinehurst Brewery is my top choice. The restaurant is decorated like a modern pub with exposed bricks and both an indoor and outdoor seating area and a large bar. The service was great both times I ate there, instantly accommodating our large party with little to no wait times. We ate there during our business trip on Halloween, and the bar hosted a costume contest, had servers in costumes, and decorated the restaurant. My first time visit was super disappointing. A crowded (and loud) Thursday dinner hour we were seated immediately, by an unsmiling hostess, next to the kitchen. Jen, our server greated us quickly and was the bright light in the evening. However, the one bus cart for the place was IN the dining room, right behind me. I am convinced from the bone shattering crashes that plates and silverware were being launched basketball style into the cart from across the street. It was ridiculously loud and unacceptanly rude of wait staff not to even realize. We were attempting to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary and although a full brewery isn't the most romantic, the random slamming of dishes definitely took any romance right out of it. The food was not great. The cheese curd, okra and pickle appetizer was good but way too much of it. The brisket which I had been looking forward to trying for a very long time was a thin strip of meat on a slice of fat. Truly disgusting and ineatible (my dogs enjoyed it when i got home). Collards were, well, different. Definitely not Southern collards. The potato salad was basically cold mashed potatoes with an abundance of pickle juice. I love pickles but it was a bit much. Not bad but again, not southern potato salad. Hubby tried the pizza and was disappointed in the bland crust as well as the sausage being ground like hamburger. Sauce was very herb-y. Nothing special, really. Sweet Antiquity lager was smooth and I really liked it alot. This is the only thing I highly recommend. Bless Jen our server, she offered desert but at this point we just wanted to get out of there. Hubby assures me that lunch isn't as crowded/noisy and the hamburger comes highly recommended. Was in Pinehurst for a golf weekend and we decided to try Pinehurst Brewing for dinner. It is in an extremely cool building. Our server Madison was very good. I thought the beers were good. I had the Belgian Ale and my buddies were pleased with their selections. I had the burger with brisket on top. The burger was tasty. I could have done without the brisket for an additional $4 but it was something fun to try. Check it out if you are in the area. Pinehurst in and of itself is a unique little resort and much of its charm comes from traditions and history. Pinehurst Brewing Co is a great addition to this town and shows not only is the town rich in tradition and history, but also progressive and looking forward to a future. The decor and facility is spectacular. The way they used the heritage of the building to build out tables and seating areas is impressive, creating a great atmosphere much different than the rest of the town. The service was friendly and fast. I ordered the brisket, mac-n-cheese, and collard greens, a local draft, and the s'mores skillet. I didn't eat again until lunch the next day. I was stuffed. I did not feel heavy or greasy after eating here, which is a pleasant surprise. The brisket was smoked well and not covered in BBQ sauce, which I think at times can mask actual BBQ and smoking skill or lack thereof. The brisket was moist, but had great smoke rings and a nice snap. The habanero pepper blackberry BBQ sauce was unique. The greens were nicely done and had the right amount of spice. The mac-n-cheese was traditional and not over done and too fancy. I think at times places over do it on traditional dishes like mac-n-cheese. The beer was really crisp and a great companion to the BBQ. I was done and didn't want anything else to eat. Then the server dropped that sweet knowledge about the s'mores skillet. From the word jump this place is BUSY, of course most places are when they are new. Work your way to the bar and eat and drink right away. Get on the list and wait, no problem you can hang out in the Oktoberfest style Beer garden. If you just can't make it until your name is called, the pizza portion of their menu is available out there. While waiting we opted for the Sicilian pizza which was great and it came relatively quickly considering the rush. Once called(they come find you, but they need buzzers) we made our way after closing tab to our table. We ordered the Mussels which was listed under small plates but was about 25-30 mussels, Jalapeño cheddar sausage sandwich solid flavor with good hint of smoke, and the miss of the evening(My Mom for some reason can always find em) Seasonal vegetable flat bread. Unfortunately one of the vegetables was Brussel sprouts which as fast as a flatbread cooks leaves them raw. It was quickly changed out for one of their salads and all was good in the world again. Typical growing pains for a new place are present but appeared to be quickly addressed. The charm of the re-hab done on the building is very cool. It would be nice if the menu items available to the beer garden were faster and or lighter faire options as for it seemed many were waiting on tables. Would certainly give them another go! My wife and I came on a Thursday evening and the place was packed. Only one parking space open and a 45 minute wait for a table. We waited at the outside bar, $13 for an NE IPA and a pineapple cider. The NE IPA was more IPA, but it was decent. The cider was good on first sip, but not good enough to finish the glass. When we were texted that our table was available, we were led to a two seater. We both had BBQ plates. The chicken was nice and smoky, as it should be. The pork was good as well. Sauces were all good, but I was wishing for an Alabama White sauce for the chicken. Coleslaw and Mac & Cheese were both a little bland. The fried pickles, okra, and cheese curds appetizer was good, as others have said. The menu was short, as usual for a BBQ place. Dinner and appetizer was $42, since we had paid for drinks outside. The old building is very cool, but the place felt crowded and it was quite noisy. There were plenty of TVs with sports, if that's what you're looking for. The waitress was nice, but she was having a hard time serving everyone as they should be and we waited a few minutes to get a check.
