Mildew in the shower, chipped bath, broken sink and filthy curtains. The external repair to the windows is woeful. Such a shame, but I suspect this hotel group may have other priorities. I'd suggest viewing the room before you check-in. It's certainly not worth the room rate for the standard of repair. Avoid the first floor at all costs,

I have contacted them to get their help to resolve the ticket since it came with the hotel, and have emailed them multiple times with no response whatsoever. The room itself was pretty grim - the lock fell off the bathroom door, the windows would not stay closed, meaning we were kept awake by the nightclubs across the road, and the decor was generally pretty shabby. Cigarette wrappers lying on the stairs when we arrived were still there the next morning. There were piles of laundry lying around in the halls also. On the plus side, the location is great for getting around town, and free parking is available for guests. The breakfast service was truly abysmal. The waiting staff spoke little English and were highly disorganised, had to ask several times for the same thing and in the end, wound up going and foraging for it myself - a pot of tea should not be that difficult to produce! Definitely not value for money. Our room cost £85 for one night, and frankly, I felt well and truly ripped off. I would not recommend this to anyone.

This was the 3rd Ibis and final hotel that was booked for my Contiki tour. The Ibis rooms are…read moreidentical so I won't go into that. This one also had the exact same layout as the other two. Same large soap bottle that is used as shampoo, body wash, and hand soap. There were also 2 large bath towels, no smaller hand or face towels provided. There is a hair dryer provided in each room as well as a pants press. A pants press is a giant board used to press pants. It'd be easier to provide an iron folks. Really. The elevator had this really cool looking touch pad which was different from what we were used to. It also was a bit dodgy when it came to punching in a floor number. The breakfast was standard English breakfast with additional yogurt, fruit, and granola snacks. For a decent night's stay, you really can't go wrong with an Ibis. It's not luxurious by any means but the beds are comfortable. The rooms are clean and is centrally located to most of the sights and restaurants. Most importantly, free WiFi.

The hotel is on a very busy road with lots of pubs and Sunday night was horrendously busy with bank Holiday revellers. Not a major problem but the hotel was quite noisy, double glazing cuts down on the street noise but doesn't eliminate it. Monday night was lovely and quiet by contrast. Overall the staff were very friendly and the hotel is within easy walking distance of the shops, castle etc. Good value for money - but watch out on weekends if you're not partying!

We didn't have breakfast in the hotel so I can't comment on that. The staff were helpful and I can't fault the customer service. Parking was a nightmare. The roads outside had some sort of parking requirement so you could park there overnight but had to move in the morning. There was a car park nearby but that didn't cover more than 12 hours so you had to keep walking there to renew. It was just tedious. The hotel did offer a parking permit of sorts but again, that had a limit on it. You couldn't just leave your car there and wander off for a few days. Overall I would stay here again if I was in the area, the price I paid was good and you can't judge a Hotel just by it's parking facilities. However I would leave my car at home in future, it was like a ball and chain.

The owners were very helpful is so many ways as we started our hike. Like, did you know that on Sundays there is very little open in the way of restaurants in Carlisle? But the people here know which ones are and filled us in. A total life saver at the end of 15 miles. Room was roomy and overlook the street but very bright and light. Bed was great and plenty of space to store things, if you are into that. Breakfast was pretty standard and packed lunches were very nice. I would come back and stay here to explore the rest of the area.
