Pinecrest is a beautiful area, and the Farmers market every Sunday sits right in the middle of these beautiful trees. The day (Sundays) and operating times are perfect for a busy person. Pro's: - Area and surroundings - Good variety of fresh foods - Few good deals ( watch for too ripened!) vegetables. Cons: - Too expensive with similar other options in Miami. - Most (75%) of vendors do not take credit cards, and another 20% do not know how their credit cards provider apps work( i.e. $27.00 for a full rack of bbq ribs) My take, you are better off... Up the street at the Wayside Market. Which is exactly what I decided to do! I will not waste my time at this market for now unless they improve in some way. But it may be a good once a year trip. ;-) read more

The best value in South Florida! This is by far the most fun you can have in South Florida for only $5 ($3 for seniors), specially if you have kids. The Gardens are beautiful and very well kept, lots of shade so it's a pleasant place to visit even in the summer. There are creeks and water features full of gorgeous, giant fish, turtles, as well as a koi pond. There's also a central pond with swans, as well as wild peacocks running and flying around. There's a really nice variety of trees, flowers, and other beautiful and exotic plants, the bamboo area is nice and it's very relaxing to sit there and listen to them sway in the wind. They have a really nice, big playground for kids, as well as a really fun splash park (bring a bathing suit and change of clothes!) and a petting zoo, all included in the admission! The pavilion at the entrance always has cool art exhibits and a Juan Valdez coffee shop with great service! The Farmers Market on Sundays is by far the best in South Florida and deserves its own review. Often they hold concerts in the amphitheater, I went to a "Mozart under the stars" one that was fantastic beginning to end, the acoustics are great and it doesn't get better than listening to beautiful music in a beautiful setting! There is lots of parking, including parking for EVs and it's right next to the public library with its own set of great things to do. Parking does get pretty full on Sundays because of the Farmers Market, but I've never had an issue finding a spot after driving around for a few minutes. Definitely take a Lyft or bike on Sundays if you live nearby to avoid that. You can also rent three different party spaces, I've been to a few kids parties there and they've been great since the admission is free for your guests, in fact, it's how I discovered this hidden gem. It's also ideal for family photo shoots as there are lots of beautiful settings to take your pictures at, it's even a nice place for a proposal since it's one of the few places in Miami where you can have beautiful swans in the background! read more

Oh the difference a year makes!! I cannot believe how much this market has changed in the past year. It is absolutely amazing! It has grown to twice the size it once was. The variety of offerings at the market is just massive compared to what it was just last year. There is now a huge selection of food vendors ranging from bbq to Colombian fritura, bakery fresh pastries, and freshly-made tropical juice blends. There are also many more organic produce vendors. The old vendors have vastly expanded their selection as well. You can now find things like pomelo and varieties of squash I have never even seen before. More vendors offer plants and in much greater varieties of types and sizes as well. In addition, you can even find people selling homemade soaps and other skincare items. The new Pinecrest Green Market is everything a market of this type should be. It is truly a wonderland. I cannot tell you how many circles I made around the place just marveling at the wonder of it all. Based on my expectations from last year, I was just expecting to be in and out after hitting up Jerry Sanchez's (Girasol) stand for the most delicious honey tangerines ever and maybe a few tomatoes. My mind couldn't even take it all in when I saw how wonderfully the market had evolved! Not only is there so much more variety, but it is an absolute sea of bright colors, scents,and scenes. People with their doggies, vendors selling yummies and sharing recipes--what a wonderful way to spend a Sunday morning. I walked out with two bags packed with tasty fresh produce and it was all a great price. Jerry had beautiful strawberries at 2 for $5 a pint (yes, it was a pint because I put it in an empty store pint I had from home and it filled it up. My delicious honey tangerines that I've been waiting for all year were 2 for $1. They are juicy and sweet like candy. I got a big cabbage for 2 bucks there, too. I got a small basket of radishes for $2 at another stand. Yum, yum, yum! Pinecrest Green Market has step up and really put on its A-game. I promise you, it is now worth the drive without a question. I've lived in South Florida for 16 years and had no idea that this place existed... and I just learned from reading someone else's review that this was the original site of Parrot Jungle which I had visited--and have vivid memories of--as a kid 30 years ago! While playing tour guide with family visiting from out of town, we decided to go to Pinecrest Garden because there seemed to be something for everyone. We arrived a little on the later side and were bummed that the booths at the Farmer's Market were all closing down just after 2 pm. We were able to snag a couple of smoothies, some avocados, and the barbecue stand which really hit the spot. It was a bit hot to walk around but the kids really enjoyed playing in the water part and in the playground. I would definitely return once the weather cools down a bit. It was a beautiful drive getting there and I could see this being very a very calm and peaceful place. read more

It's definitely worth checking out, and while there are fewer parrots then before there are still a lot of animals you might see on a trip to the park! The park also recently opened the Cypress Hall which has ample setting in a beautiful, bird themed, well lit space great for sitting and doing work. I am scratching my head at the nearly perfect rating for this place. I am a Miami native and have fond memories of coming here as a kid when it was parrot jungle. Fast forward to 2019, I brought my toddler here and even though admission was only $5 it isn't worth paying anything to come here. We mainly came for the splash pad and to my shock the floor of the splash pad is made of concrete instead of soft rubber flooring usually found at splash pads. this is a huge safety hazard and within 5 minutes my son slipped and hit his head hard on the concrete and scratched his whole forehead. we left within 10 minutes. Before going to the splash pad we went to the petting zoo and wow is that a group of sad looking animals. They are old, tired, and cranky and want nothing to do with kids. I felt bad for them and they should have retired years ago. Outside of these two "attractions" there is nothing to see here. there is some landscaping and a few small ponds and lots of mosquitoes. This place can't figure out what it wants to be, it has potential but right now isn't much of anything. If you are interested in plants and looking for a botanical garden, Fairchild is a much better option and for splash pads there are several free public parks that do not have the safety issues this one has. read more

I've been to many events at this beautiful venue and can surely say it's unlike anything in miami. The grounds are pristinely lush and vegetated surrounded by gorgeous orchids and wild Florida plants growing in their wonderfully native habitat. It's located on a small road east of US1 so traffic might be present for larger events. Most people find a parking spot on the grass right outside the entrance and walk their way in. They host all different types of events and all the info of upcoming events are found on their webpage. There's annual memberships for sale which come with a long list of perks. Most of the time, plenty of local vendors will come together and showcase their goods for sale here. I always love walking around to see what's available and since it's all SoFlo the vibe is very local in nature. The banyan and ficus trees offer much-needed shade and texture to what most of us is a bustling metropolis city. It's nice to escape in nature while still in the heart of it all. read more

Locals and natives don their too-cool-for-school windbreakers and sweaters and look for any reason to play outdoors and inhale the season. This is only part of the reason why you need make the Pinecrest Gardens Green Market an item on your "Must-Do" list. The market has become a weekend staple for me. Open every Sunday until 2pm, the market is located in the former Parrot Jungle space off of Old Cutler Road. Huge, broad trees with enormous roots (my inner 6 year-old is dying to climb them!) line the parking area providing a cool shaded area to do some delicious local shopping in the outdoors. You can easily spend an hour or two perusing the goods, sampling delectable eats and chattin' it up with fellow patrons or vendors. It's not the largest market, but it's the perfect size to enjoy an afternoon out without being overwhelmed. You'll find a well-priced roster of local produce (sometimes organic, too - bonus!) at several stands...grapefruit, oranges, squash, beans, peppers, pineapple, mamey, kale, broccoli...the list is endless! I have to be honest, after trying several of the grapefruit and oranges from the market, I'm skittish about purchasing my produce from anywhere else (yes, that includes the indomitable Whole Foods). The taste left me speechless! Slightly sweet, juicy, bright and clean...I never knew fruit could taste like that! Its freshness was much like tasting a rainbow - take that, Skittles! Hmph! Along with produce, you can find a huge selection of baked good, pastas, ceviche, fish, honey, tropical sorbets, freshly squeezed juices, and homemade guac, salsas and vegan dishes (Do yourself a favor and buy a piece of Lamoy's Vegan Gluten-Free Blackberry Pie...I'm not sure when crack began being classified as vegan, but it must be because I'm sickeningly addicted to this dessert.) One of my favorite ways to pass the afternoon is to buy a sample platter of vegan salads, pick up a freshly squeezed cup of some sort of juice and set-up a small picnic area out under the tree-lined parking lot on the tailgate of my car while listening to some music. Total bliss. A couple of booths feature some artisan crafts (soaps, scarves, knitted ware, pet goods, etc.) that help make this little mart a well-rounded purveyor of local wares. So if your Saturday night didn't royally beat you up into some hangover purgatory, take an afternoon to enjoy the gorgeous SoFla winter season and check out Pinecrest Garden's Green Market. As locals, we come to the market each and every Sunday morning [sorry CBS, we miss you too]. Besides catching up with friends and merchants, the Market is terrific for picking up local & organic foods. And brunch! We enjoy freshly-baked rye bread from Zacks, guacamole from another local provider, and fresh-brewed coffee from a vendor who remembers our order. But something spoils the Market experience. We wish the seating was more accommodating. Currently, to sit and enjoy our food & coffee, we're forced to sit at dirty tables placed against a garage and positioned among trash barrels. Perhaps someone prefers we come, spend our money, and leave. Management seems unaware the reasons regulars visit the Market. The Pinecrest Farmers Market could be a community gathering place. Instead, it's a stopover as regulars conspire to find a more pleasant Sunday morning destination. Such a shame. read more

This was exactly what I was looking for! We always stay in Kendall to be near los yayos. Pinecrest was a short 10 minute drive from our hotel and a perfect morning activity. It's a small farmer's market, but the perfect size for what we were looking for. The area is pretty shaded. I liked the variety of local foods and products sold. My husband and I had the best Cuban (?) cachapa... not quite Venezuelan, but were told it was with a Cuban twist. The Jamaican iced coffee was delicious. We purchased a beautiful terrarium as a gift for my husband's aunt. I can't wait to go back next year when we visit again. read more

The first time I shopped here I was oozing happiness. When I can't make it to the farmer's market in my area, I head here for my produce and other goodies. We try to make a day out because the surrounding area is just so relaxing. I like to do my best to shop local and keep my money in the community, supporting small business. That is what you will find here. Vendor after vendor providing the freshest produce, fresh juices, smoothies, eggs, etc all coming from south Florida. Bring your appetite, buy something yummy and sit under a tree. Take it in. We don't get these opportunities in Miami too often. Fish dip, guacamole, empanadas, corn on the cob and soursop juice and just some of the yummies I've enjoyed here. Not all vendors are organic, so ask ahead. However, most of them will tell you that while they're not organic, they don't use harsh chemicals or use natural ways. If you're ok with this, you cannot beat the prices here! Bring cash as some booths don't accept plastic. read more

First time visiting this farmers market and was pleased to see the variety of goods they have from fresh produce to all sorts of pickles, granola and incense! Everyone is very friendly and eager to let you sample anything they have. Vendors will tell you where their goods come from and how they're made. Taste tests have been completed and the tomatoes at Pinecrest Gardens Green Market have won the gold! For the past few weeks I have been making my way down here on Sundays to see what the farmers have brought for us to choose from - I have yet to leave empty handed. This market is a great combination of fresh veggies, fruits, plants and other things like soaps, dishes and even fresh made bbq! You can bring the kids or the dog, ride your bike down to the gardens and leave with a weeks worth of fresh fruits and veggies. This place is a great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. This farmer's market does not have much if you're looking to buy produce. I think there was like 1 small table with like 6 different vegetables. There are like 4 tables for fresh smoothies and guacamole, a couple tables with plants, and one table each of ceviche, kettle corn, dried fruit, bbq, lemonade, nuts, and olives. The pizza booth was my favorite. For me, good pizza is all about the sauce and I loved their sauce! Once I discovered all that this small farmers market had to offer, I have made it a habit to visit at least once a month though typically i'm there multiple weekends. I have discovered indispensable food finds here including Abe Froman, Jammy Yummy, and Joy's Garlic. I also know that Candles by Fatima will almost always be there. The hand tossed pizza that is then cooked in a mobile wood oven is a great lunch when your finished moving through all the stalls. Great organic produce finds. We have been about this place for a while now, and we finally went! I was very happy with the experience! Hubby and I went on a Sunday morning, traffics was tricky but we found parking. The market sells a little bit of everything, including meats, nuts. Breads, ready to eat items, parties,beauty supplies and plants. The key word here is "organic", though as others have stated you should always confirm with the vendors if it is in fact organic. Hard to find items like duck eggs, goat milk, pear and ricotta ravioli are available here weekly! Price wise, it is a BIT pricey, but you get what you pay for: fresh, organic produce and food items that are hard to find anywhere else. I would definitely return, though seeing as I have spent about $30-40 each time I have gone, it will be a monthly versus a weekly outing. read more

Its about 10 minutes away from campus and super easy to get to given that its right off of Red road (SW 57th ave). You'll find tons of parking. First time here ever. I love fresh markets because I'm a true believer in buying g from local vendors to give back to them. I was a bit disappointed because I was hoping for a lot more vendors and more variety to choose from. I went in Hoping for fresh local produce. I believe there was only one vendor. There were other interesting vendors, I ended up getting a nautical themed bottle opener for my husband and a skull carved out of stone for my son. The location is great, ample parking and free admission. Unless you want to visit the park itself then it'll cost a fee. Other than that, it was a nice outing anyway. read more

Fun place to take the kids on a hot day aka every day in Miami. Splash pad area offers the right balance of sun and shade. My daughter and her little terrorist friends had a great time. We went on a Sunday which afforded us the opportunity to take a stroll and stuff our faces at the Farmers Market. The bathrooms are not AC'd which was not in the middle of August.
