My mother was a resident at Seymour's Southern Comfort for many years - until her death in 2004. She enjoyed the activities, meals and socials - especially bingo!. She encouraged several of her friends to also live there. It is a very clean facility, bright and cheery, good nutritional meals & snacks. Activities are age appropriate and the staff is outstanding. The residents are encouraged to remain as independent for as long as physically and mentally possible. The entire staff takes a personal interest in each and every resident.

They don't hydrate the residents that can't help themselves or ask for it, the food is so spicy at times it will burn your mouth for 10 minutes after a small bite - but they still shovel it into the residents that need to be fed or if they refuse because of the taste, they just go hungry. The attitudes of one shift of the staff are loud mouth, know it all, very argumentative and they provide sub-par care at best. They can't get off their phones or out from behind the nurses desk long enough to provide adequate care. They act like you asked them to move a mountain of your family member needs something. Management makes excuses for issues that you take to them - hence why we had the ombudsman on speed dial. One day their own parent may need the so called "care" they provide and then, only then may their eyes be open to how they treated those entrusted to their care. Not because thebfamily didn't want their person at home, but because they couldn't handle them at home for whatever reason. A SNF is the LAST place anyone wants a family member to be and this place proves why that is so true.

I am a resident (Independent Living) cottage # 111 at Southern Pines in Thomasville GA--(been a…read moreresident for one month today) a beautiful community with well managed landscaping and very clean (grounds are well maintained); meals (3 per day) are delicious however, service needs improvement; housekeeping is excellent; maintenance is good (front door lock problem since day 1); however, NO washer/dryer, NO wkly Laundry, NO wkly Linen service, & NO wkly Change Bed Linens and Electrical Problem in spare bedroom (reported mid August by Kelly Chastain, Sales Manager at Southern Pines). Washer/dryer was in Cottage # 111 on August 1, 2023 when I toured Cottage 111 with Jill Reid, Sales Specialist / Southern Pines and rented cottage 111. Dr. Ruth Ann Winchester Cottage # 111
