This latter group sees horses and the people who own and love horses as livestock, and they are best avoided. I have known Robert Stewart since he was an elementary school aged rider on a chestnut mare at a stable in Galesburg. I don't know anyone in the business as conscientious and ethical and skilled as he is. He owns and runs a solid facility in Hickory Corners (the worse thing I can say is that the place is not an easy and quick drive to get to). And that's why he is also the current coach for the Western Michigan University Equestrian Team. I completely recommend Robert and his stable - and if you have a child entering WMU who knows her way around horses and hunter seat - his equestrian team as well.

Fantastic facility! Fantastic staff! Fantastic Community structure!…read more There are wonderful rolling hills which create natural divisions in which dogs will group, so it's like having several yards within one. The pond is deep enough and contoured enough to provide a lot of variation and slope. The physical build of the docks is top notch. There is enough shade at the pond for humans to be comfy. The bathing facilities are so "Temple Grandin" with full length windows at each of the very clean walk-in tubs, and they all look out over the park! My pup LOVED IT. Be prepared to state your animal's positive and/or challenging behaviors in written detail, and give yourself enough time to really read the community guidelines and education. Last but not least, it doesn't hurt to have an attached dog-friendly tavern which occasionally has food via one food truck or another. It's almost worth moving there for this park!

I have found a really nice smaller dog park in Kalamazoo. There isn't the stress of Meadow run. There's a centralized area where people and dogs socialize with plenty of benches so people can sit and watch their dogs easily. There are objects like trees, benches and a fire hydrant to help get a visual on area to look to pick up poop bags available ! The park isn't enormous so dogs disappear! People are very friendly. We take our Olde English Bulldogges there and love that the care is not only thorough but affordable. Dr Bruce is extremely smart and does a great job of educating us. Last year he performed surgery on our bulldog's hematoma (surgery for Bulldogs are always dangerous because of their normal airway restrictions), but he and his wife, the surgical manage, took great care of Truman. Their repair was as good as a certified plastic surgeons! You can't even tell they operated on him when you look at him. This saved his ear and Truman's self esteem! Lol I bred Bulldogs once and would never take my Bulldogs anywhere else! I highly recommend this clinic, if yyour pes but don't want to end up in the poor house when caring for them.

I will not be returning to VCA Richland Animal Hospital ever again! I have been bringing my…read moreanimals to this clinic since I moved to Richland 35 years ago, but since the hospital was sold to the conglomerate MARS corporation the place has really gone down hill! The staff is a revolving door and Dr. Haley McCall I assume is a recent graduate of vet school and lacks experience. She also is very "WOKE" and a fool in my opinion. Two weeks ago I brought my 9 year old lab mix for a routine check-up, Lepto vaccine and Heartworm Test. Dr. McCall was unable to get the blood necessary for the Heartworm test, so she prescribed heavy duty drugs and asked me to return. I have a family member who has worked in Vet medicine for over 30 years, has managed the small animal ICU at MSU and now does the same at Iowa State University. She disagreed with Dr. McCall's prescribing all the medications just to "calm" down the animal and instructed me a bit differently. When I returned to VCA Animal hospital with my husband in tow to hold the animal while the blood was being drawn. The technician, also unable to get the blood because the animal was twitchy, went to get Dr. McCall. Dr. McCall questioned me asking if I had not understood her instructions. When I explained that I had gotten a 2nd opinion regarding the drugs, she stated that my dog was "Scared", and that is the reason she had prescribed as she did. I stated to her that every dog I had ever brought through the door in the past 35 years was "Scared"! Dogs are nervous (Scared) at the vet, that is almost a universal thing. As I did not comply with Dr. McCall's drugging of my animal, she refused to attempt to draw the necessary blood and we left the practice. I will also add that now that VCA Richland is owned by a corporation their prices have skyrocketed and are outrageous! Do yourself a favor, Go Some Place Else!!

Our vet (The Visiting Vet) comes to our house for appointments, so when we knew our guy Franks had really just fought his last night with laryngeal paralysis we called her and she agreed to come over that afternoon. Our vet had already made all the arrangements, so we did not have to do any of the work, but Life Tails was truly amazing. After our vet left at 3:45, Life Tails was there by 4:05 to pick Franks up. They were so kind. I had to leave the room because I mentally just could not handle him being taken away, but Mr. MVP said they were very super gentle and made a funny and very helpful comment on how amazing Franks coat is (the gentleman thought Franks was all hair, but this made Mr. MVP laugh because Franks was BIG - 75 pounds big). Life Tails called us just two days later and we were able to pick Franks back up. He came back to us in a wooden box that suits Franks really well. We have used other cremation services in the past and have ended up buying other pottery or boxes, but this box does Franks proud. Some non-pet people may think pet cremation is crazy, but until you have loved and been loved by a dog for 12 years you will not understand how painful it is to have a four legged family member die. Life Tails helps makes this extremely terrible process less so.

I would like to preface this by saying I love this store and the people there are GOOD people, but the bad review is about a product they carry. I purchased Dog Rocks to make my dogs' urine stop turning the grass yellow. These were heavily promoted by someone at the store as working, and they are not cheap. Well, they didn't work, and when I researched these online, not only did I find they are basically a huge scam, but I found that the reason for the discoloration on the lawn is caused by ammonia, which in turn is a result of NORMAL KIDNEY FUNCTION. So even if they worked, would I really want to give my dogs something that alters their kidney function just to make my grass look better? More research showed if they DO anything, they just filter the impurities from the water in the water dish, and do not change the ph level in my dogs' urine, which is determined by kidney function. I wish I had looked into this first and really thought it through before spending the money on them. And nice people at the store, please do your research. I know you care about animals and your customers, but I think someone pulled a fast one on you, and you should just stop selling these.
