I came out almost hour early to hit the range because my drive has been off. I was told the range was closed because they had a HS tournament the next day and had no one to pick up the balls that evening. I know in 2023 it's hard to get people to work so hate to ding them too much but it was a huge inconvenience leaving lots of down time awaiting my buddy. Pace of play on front was flying. Slowed quite a bit on back put the group in front had 3 and one dropped off, we jumped in with the 2 left and they eventually left too. The TOTAL time was good so it worked out ok. Lastly, I contacted someone named Mark about outings and email list. I got one 6 letter sentence, no salutations, no closing and no follow up to my follow up to the questions. Guessing sales and customer service aren't a strong suit. Everyone else I interacted from the course throughout the day were all relatively pleasant so that's the important thing. I still will go back for sure because the condition is excellent, greens rolled nice and it's just a cool course.

We asked for a refund, having just paid. No deal, we only got a rain check. Then got chewed out by the manager for not being there earlier. To get your tee time, they expect you to show up an hour early and get in line on the first hole.

Halfway into the back nine Frederick went into the woods by hole 13 to take care of business. Upon arriving back to the field of play, it was apparent he had walked into a thorn bush. When I asked about the thorns in his tush, he simply said that he had bubble gut from the food he had earlier. It's important to note that the food was prepared correctly, he just stuffed five of his hotdogs deep into his golf bag and let them incubate like a middle school science experiment. After eating them in weather that was only comparable to Afghanistan, Frederick became ill. Thankfully the cute girl came and switched his shots of Buffalo trace for some pesto-bismol. Overall this is a decent course, however they could use some facilities on the back nine.

Pretty wide open, but there are challenges on almost every hole including a pond in the middle of the fairway on Hole 18. Black River meanders throughout course on back nine and there are some blind shots, but for the money ($32 for 18 on weekend with cart) this was one of the best values in the area. Rick, the golf pro and course manager went above and beyond for our league making sure we were all taken care of amid the COVID restrictions. The only reason a star comes off is because of the overall challenge of the course is a bit on the easier side because it is shorter than many courses, but you are tasked with using every club in your bag and playing plenty of curves and turns as well as some creeks and lakes. 4.5 would be more accurate rating as the customer service goes above and beyond.
