For Review #650 I wanted to make sure it was something special....I have had good fortune recently,…read moreI have visited some phenomenal restaurants and places of interest. I chose Eagle Oaks as number 650 because golf is near and dear to my heart and I was treated a spectacular day. For those who don't golf, it is truly wonderful to play at a country club. Why? The experience is completely different from a public/municipal golf course. From the tee time process, to the amenities, to the quality of play so on and so forth it is top notch. Unfortunately I am unable to afford a membership at a private golf club. Hopefully after my children finish college I may be able to swing it. Country club golfing is not just about the golf, it becomes your lifestyle. Social gatherings, Dinners, card games, cigar rooms, pool, gym, sauna etc. The staff at Eagle oaks are second to none, professional and kind. I was very impressed with the members I met, all very welcoming which is unusual. The course itself is top of the line, excellent conditions, perfectly rolled greens, tee boxes that are immaculate. Many dog legs, island par 3's and green grass. Not much more to say except if you get the opportunity to play the course....don't give it a second thought and bring your A game.

Make sure you get the raw bar (the individual shrimp cocktails and crab claws I loved) which includes phenomenal sushi too. Dinner was great, I don't know how the managed to cook 200 perfectly cooked filets but wow (I didn't love the seasoning on the veggies but who cares). If you are considering having your wedding here do it!

Course was in great shape. Conditions were hot and humid. Golf Now made it simple to book our "hot…read moredeal" which was $55 which is a decent rate for a midweek afternoon day in June. The only downside was the staff. We arrived at the course early because we decided to patronize a local business for lunch. Well, much to our dismay, we were denied early access to our cart because we were Golf Now "hot deal" customers! Most golf courses encourage early arrivals to ensure tee times are maintained. I am not sure how permitting us to access a cart early impacts the bottom line.

Seniors beware! I went online to reserve a tee time for four players at this course, and found…read morethat there was a $9.96 online "convenience" fee. To avoid that, I tried to call the pro shop, but there was no answer. I could leave a message. Since there was only one tee time remaining around the time I needed, and I didn't want to wait for a call back (if that would even happen) I decided to eat the fee and book online. I had to provide my credit card number. After the booking I received an email that the total for the four golfers was $284, but $24.16 was charged to my credit card, and the balance was payable at the course. Why do they do that when it is unlikely that I am paying for all four? When I entered the pro shop on the day of play, one of my friends was questioning the guy behind the counter why we couldn't get a senior rate which was $15 cheaper per golfer. The guy said that rate was only available if the person booking the tee time called the pro shop to do it. I explained that I was the one who booked, and I tried to call, but no one answered the phone. The old coot said "no, you didn't", with a smirk on his face. I replied "are you calling me a liar?". He insisted that I didn't call. I could sense that he realized that perhaps he went a bit too far and tried to make excuses. He said that online bookings were not eligible for the senior rate, only the pro shop could do it and he couldn't make any adjustments. There was more back and forth. He said they'll take care of me next time, but I replied "there won't be a next time". And when I returned the cart at the end of the round, I parked at the spot designated against the fence, but at a slight angle, like in a parking lot. The cart guy yelled at me to park it straight in. These people should be taking their happy pills. As far as the course, it was so so.

Disappointed by the Service - Would Not Recommend…read more I recently played this course and unfortunately got rained out after only three holes. While I understand that weather can be unpredictable, what I found unacceptable was the complete lack of flexibility or customer service. Despite rain being clearly in the forecast, there was no mention of a "no refund / no rain check" policy when I paid. It wasn't until I returned to the clubhouse, drenched and hoping for at least a 9 hole rain check (I would have taken a coupon for a bucket of balls), that I was told--rather rudely--that there would be no compensation of any kind. A staff member named Ricky was dismissive and snarky when I asked about a possible rain check. He pointed to a small sign in the corner, claiming the policy has been the same since the 1990s, as if that somehow made it reasonable to exclude this basic courtesy. This lack of transparency, poor attitude, and total disregard for customer experience left a bad taste. There are too many great courses out there that treat golfers with respect and common courtesy. I won't be returning--and I'd advise others to look elsewhere before paying an excessive amount of money to play a course where the staff has a pretentious attitude and 0 care for the customer.
