They really do win when it comes to affordability. The only downside was that the size selection was pretty limited, but to be fair, it is late in the season so I expected things to be a bit picked over. The store itself is very large, but it definitely feels a bit worn out and dated. It honestly concerns me that it isn't better maintained, and it makes me wonder what the future holds for this location. That said, the inventory saved the day and I'm really glad I shopped here today. If you're willing to do a little hunting, you can find some great gems!

Alas, I struck out as the cotton socks I wanted weren't available for women (but oddly enough were available and in stock for men) and the hats/ caps they had - eh, none of the styles were ones that I liked. I do think this was a very well set out store. Its on 3 levels with ground floor for women, middle for the kids and top for the men, so easy to find stuff as its categorized so well. The cashiers are located towards the back of the store, behind the elevators in the women's section on the ground floor. It was easy on the returns too, as I was able to return another set of socks that I had purchased, but when I got home realized their quality wasn't to my taste. Initially I ask a parent where do Dutch people shop for their kids clothes, and some one commented, well secondhand shops. I was thinking that can't be true. "Only second hand shops," yeah right. Amsterdam has a nice variety of different shops to doll your kids up in, and one of my choices would be Petit Bateau.

The Jumbo is actually huge for a Jumbo, but compared to the AH, it seems smaller, a bit dated too. The mall has a nice Pets Place in the -1 floor, a sleek Hema next to it with a little food kiosk at the entrance. The Gelderlandplein is actually elegant and swanky. There is also a large interior courtyard where you can have lunch, dinner or drinks at multiple cafes and restaurants! This is really worth visiting if you want to get away from the mayhem of the centrum of Amsterdam.

There is underground parking and also parking lots and street parking nearby. Overall a good mix of shops and restaurants. There is also free art inside the mall to look at.
