On this most recent trip to the MD Burbs for a Yelp event, I was delighted to find Three Little Birds just a few miles from my hotel. So I stopped in during my lunch break on a mission to find just the right fabric for a wedding quilt I'm sewing for a dear family member. This shop is really, really cute! They carry mostly modern fabrics, plus a ton of knitting/crocheting supplies. In the back is a classroom area, and they have lots of project samples, notions, and one of the best selection of sewing books I've seen. The best news is: I found the perfect fabric for the wedding quilt! And I had just enough space in my suitcase to get it home and start cutting. Highly recommend this little shop if you're in the area and on a hunt for some new fabric!

Shopping nearby I decided to stop in here and see if maybe I could find some frames and make those dreams of mine come true. Short story here, I didn't. They were having a sale on frames, but it appeared that everyone else had the same idea as I did, or maybe they all needed the same size as I did. Each area I would go to the size I needed was gone. With Michaels being one of the few stores where everything they have is on the shelves, I was out of luck here. I have to say, I was amazed, however, with the way they were able to cram a whole store into this space. I contact them the week I was supposed to pick it up and they said it would be another 3wks! Firstly, if they were going to be late on the delivery, shouldn't they be the one to contact and inform me? Secondly, they new my event was that week, so again, if you are unable to meet your timelines, you should be contacting me ahead of time with options or at least allow me time to figure something else out. I was stressed, but did not become angry until talking to them. They were rude and tried to withhold my money. I had already paid upfront for everything yet they had the audacity to say they wouldn't refund me until the dress arrived. Make that make sense?! A dress. That would be arriving weeks later, that I cannot use is what's holding up my refund? I drove over there and collected my money immediately. I will not be returning or referring them to others. Upon entering we found ourselves surrounded by a huge selection of the most beautiful variety African imported fabric we could ever have possibly wished for: lace, george, aso oke,, wax prints, silk, velvet, brocades, chiffon, batik..., you name it and you will find it here. There is also beautifully-designed men's and women's clothing for sale, from everyday wear to fashions for a glamorous evening out, or an elegant wedding. We will encourage family and friends to shop here with our people, where the customer service was excellent; friendly, kind, helpful, respectful and welcoming, even though we discovered it was actually closing time, We are so pleased in every way to have found a new business to support. Later, I was automatically enrolled in a class without being consulted, and the date didn't work for me as I was out of town. I'm now moving back to my home state and can't attend any future sessions, but they refused to offer any refund--even a partial one. While I understand this is a small business, the lack of communication and unwillingness to work with customers is disappointing. I'm now out $195 with nothing to show for it.

We were doing a little theme visit, arts and crafts. Earlier we made candles and then we headed to our afternoon reservation to make paint pottery at All Fired Up. I chose two pieces, a topper for $13 and a strawberry container for I think $27. I felt the pricing was extremely reasonable especially since you used their glaze, they fire it, and they set up and clean up for you.
