Who would've thought that in the so-called "Black Mecca," finding a braiding salon that checks all…read morethe boxes--location, fair pricing, promptness, friendliness, cleanliness, and neatness--could be such a challenge? After spending hours searching online and trying several shops across metro Atlanta, I often left unimpressed. Recently, however, I stumbled upon this salon that caught my attention through its reviews. After getting medium-sized knotless braids, here's what I found: Location & Parking: The shop is about a 45-minute drive for me, located right off a major road in a busy but pleasant area. Because it's in a plaza, parking was easy--plenty of spaces available when I went. Pricing: The cost was reasonable, around average for the area. I felt it matched the quality of work. Promptness: Some reviews mentioned long wait times, and I did notice one customer waiting a while. It seems the salon operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Fortunately, I was seen right away and finished within about 5 1/2 hours--pretty quick compared to my past experiences. Friendliness: I'd read a few negative comments about customer service, but my experience was the opposite. Everyone was pleasant, accommodating, and informative. Brida, in particular, was very friendly and made sure my requests were clearly communicated to the second stylist working on my braids. Cleanliness: This was the one area that fell short for me. It wasn't terrible, but cleanliness is a big deal--especially since infection control should be a top priority for any beauty business. The chairs weren't wiped down between clients, no capes were provided, the bathroom needed attention, and the shop overall could've been tidier. Still, I've seen worse. If they improved this, the experience would easily be five stars. Quality of Service: The reviews about their braiding skills were spot-on. Along with cleanliness, this area is priority and was the main reason I decided to give them a chance--and I'm glad I did. The stylists were confident, experienced, and clearly skilled at what they do. My head wasn't in pain, the braids weren't too heavy, and I left happy with neat braids and grateful I took the chance. Final Verdict: Despite a few minor drawbacks, I'd definitely return. The quality of the braids and professionalism made it worth it. Let's keep them in business!

Well I went back yesterday to get the same hairdo of distressed butterfly locs and instead of…read morepaying the same price of 410, I was charged a total of $512. I had to pay a $100 non-refundable deposit then 412.00 for the balance with the credit card service fee included. Just to receive a different hairstyle that I don't know what it is. I was told after I sat for 6 1/2 hours that Tee didn't have the glue to give me butterfly locs because the glue wouldn't open. Now she never mentioned in the beginning I couldn't get the hairstyle I was paying for without glue. If I am paying $500, which we established at the beginning why would you give me a different hairstyle instead of asking me to wait at the salon while she go get another bottle of glue. The old me would not have paid for this and it would have been a huge issue however she prayed before she did my hair just to be dishonest. Then when Tee found out I was dissatisfied she got loud and defensive and asked me if I wanted to wait for her to get glue to fix my hair. Who would do that after they sat for 6 1/2 hours on the same day when that is what you should have done initially. On top of that my coupon was not honored, which I had just received after I booked my online appointment, a week ago. I was told it just expired however you are the owner so you could have honored it. Since, I even allowed her to keep the hair I didn't use because I always brought my own hair. Everyone told me she was over charging me! I'm from Detroit, the Mega of hair so I knew her work and prices were not right but I thought I was helping a fellow Christian. Why those that seem the most spiritual are the most dishonest people? I will not be back because I previously overlooked some of her sloppy work which another time I was charged $700 and I never received the receipt for the other time of being charged around $615 or more, which are outlandish prices, for butterfly locs. For these prices I can go anyway!
