Don't use this location if you have a larger RV or are towing. Very tight location and no pull thru spots in the truck parking area.

Sheetz - Exterior of the store

After another stretch on the highway I needed to get fuel and a little something for myself. Being…read morein Sheetz country I was happy to see there was one on the next exit on the highway I was on. This location wasn't far from the highway and right next to some retail, noticeably next to a Walmart. This is your typical Sheetz setup that we have all been accustom to recently. Decent amount of pumps to do a quick fuel run and more than enough parking if you need to just do a Sheetz run. There are Tesla chargers here if that's your thing. Inside I was pleasantly surprised that they still had the fresh brewed iced tea and not one of those dispensers. I tapped the screen a few times and ordered myself some breakfast sandwiches to take on with me for the rest of my road trip. Prior to leaving I made sure to stretch my legs outside before getting back on the road. It was a warm day, and being morning it was a nice break before getting back into my vehicle.

Note: This Sheetz temporarily closed on September 19, 2022, and it will reopen in March. I assume…read morethat the building will be rebuilt or remodeled. As such, my photos will likely be outdated in March. I visited this Sheetz on the day that it was temporarily closing. I wanted to buy gas for my vehicle as well as snacks and beverages. The store had a sufficient number of gas pumps, and the price for the gas was average. The store had partially empty refrigerators and shelves of foods and beverages, but I found some snacks and beverages that I liked. I waited in the checkout line for a couple of minutes. The cashier had a pleasant personality, and she thanked me and told me to have a nice day.

This new Par Mar store is a part of the rapidly growing Par Mar chain in WV, Ohio and Kentucky. It…read moretook over a standing gas station with small market in the premises and absorbed the Market at Big Springs, which closed down and it's not a Subway. It is one of the very few gas stations (Exxon) in the area, and the closest one to Snowshoe within a 15 miles. In addition, it sells Blue Rhino propane gas for the gazillion home owners in the sprawling Snowshoe resort. However, compared to the Market at Big Springs, it falls short quite substantially. This is a step well below a 7-11, and its offerings have not adapted themselves to the upscale clientele at Snowshoe but instead, cover the needs of a more proletarian customer base which is a bit dissonant in a major ski resort. Gone are the specialty items, the jams and desserts, the imported hams, the prime cuts of beef, and innumerable other items. Instead, the customer is treated to slurpie machines and mediocre canned goods. I would be awarding it two or perhaps one star were it not for the large specialty beer selection in the huge walk-in refrigerated area. They actually have a fairly large selection of micro brews and specialty beers. That is the saving grace of this store... About the only place to shop in the dead seasons between ski and cycling...

Par Mar is a grocery store and the main gas station around Snowshoe, the ski area in West Virginia…read more As a gas station, it's pretty expensive, but since the price is pretty much the same within 60-mile radius of Snowshoe, you might as well gas up here. I saw locals load up grocery carts, and they had ads encouraging people to add them on Twitter/Facebook. So presumably it's a pretty hopping gas station-grocery store duo in town.

Well, if you're here reading this you likely also made the mistake of not stopping earlier. Can…read moreconfirm Wildcat is the only food market within an hour + radius. We brought some food up from home, but stopped here to get a few things to get us through the weekend. Wildcat is definitely more of a convience store than a grocery market. The options were limited, but there's definitely enough to get you by! (Granted if you're a vegetarian that's a different story). Pricing is definitely expensive, but what really got me was that there's no prices on the items in the store!! Nor can you see the cost per item when they're ringing you up. Had I not read these reviews I def would've had more sticker shock when it came time to check out. The last review outlining what the store had in stock is a bit dated so I'll update yall who are reading this in 2024 - this is a list of what I remember seeing - Fridge items: Meats (chicken, ground beef, steak, etc), milk, creamer, eggs, sliced turkey/ham, sliced cheese, yogurt, soda, juice, & beer (have beer den) Frozen items: frozen pizzas, pizza bites, pot pies, meatballs, broccoli, green beans, other frozen/steam veggies, chicken/veggie pasta options Shelf items: lots of chips/snacks, bread (white and honey wheat), pasta sauce, pasta, soups, ramen, on/jelly/nutella, etc

If you're staying at the mountain for a week and plan on cooking most of your meals, I would highly…read morerecommend you shop at an actual grocery store before getting to Snowshoe (at least 1.5 hours away), and not expect to do a lot of it here at Wildcat Provisions. It is closer to being a convenience store than it is to being a grocery store. What I wished somebody else would've done in other reviews before I came here was to list some of the items to be found here, so that's what I'm doing now-- There is hardly any fresh produce. What was there was: oranges, bananas, blueberries, apples, avocado (presliced and sealed), peppers, tomatoes, baby carrots, lemons/lime. There are eggs, but they are $4 a dozen. There's butter, cheese (no fancy cheese to go with wine, though), milk, yogurt, some meat (pork chops, chicken breasts, NY strip steak, bacon, bologna). There's a variety of ice cream. For pantry items: an assortment of chips and snacks, oatmeal, canned beans and other canned items. I was not impressed with the bread selection (lots of white and some honey wheat). There's bagels, but its $7.50 for a bag. There's stuff for baking- sugar, flour, etc. There's wine and beer, like others have mentioned. I was hoping for some fresh local goods, like pies or breads, but there's none of that to be found here. There are also some basic items you find in convenience stores- toiletries, plastic plates and utensils, toilet paper, paper towels, foil, plastic wrap, ziploc bags.
