There is a reason this place has been thriving for more years than I've been alive. This trip I brought along my husband and our two children and we had the BEST time. The care and compassion these people gave us without knowing us from Adam is just what true successful business owners do. We decided to give them a shot following what was one of the worst experiences of our lives at 'that other bowling alley in town' earlier today and they made us forget all about it without even knowing how bad we were feeling. It speaks for itself. These people deserve ALL the business and luck and longevity in business. We can't wait to take our kids back to see them again.

They have a large and small pumpkin patch that both my kids loved doing, fun, commentated wagon ride, smore making down by the river, great deal on pumpkins from the patch, putt putt, food truck, goats, and tons more activities. I also added the round trip kayaking which topped it off. The family was very involved and engaged with the visitors and super sweet. You can tell they truly enjoy sharing their farm with the community and seeing the happiness on faces. Now that I know about this place and all they offer, more trips are in store and can't wait to see what they add next year.

I first came to Willow Bend for lunch in December when I first traveled to Van Wert. I ate lunch with people from the company during the interview/recruitment process and I was impressed by the service and the delicious food. The fact that I got a social membership as part of my joining the company was a perk and certainly a reason why I started working for the company I am in now. I easily could have seen myself coming here to eat... place is nice... classy, and again the food is delicious! I have come a few times since then, leaving it as a place for special occasions including for when I found out I got the house I am currently living at. The waitresses and bar tenders are always friendly. Just love this place. I have eaten various items on this menu, I will focus on my favorites that I've had: 1) Asian Boneless Wings. I love wings, it's one of my favorite things to eat... but I am not a fan of boneless wings. I am a traditionalist and a bit of a snob when it comes to this. These wings, though, I will make an exception for my dislike of boneless wings. These wings which are breaded and covered in a sweet and spicy hoisin oriental sauce... is perfect. It expertly blends spicy and sweet so much, I don't care if they are boneless. 2) Baked Potato Soup. I love this kind of soup, and this is one of the better versions I've had. Especially good during a cold day! 3) Peach-Apple Glazed Pork Chop Ribeye. Another exception to my normal rules of food. I like pork chops with bone... I had boneless. These chops are so juicy... it doesn't matter! It's a bit sweet... almost too sweet for my taste but it just straddles that line... I could eat this over and over 4) 12 oz. Texas Ribeye. This is a big steak! It's a delicious, hearty-cut ribeye with a dried pepper and coffee rub seasoning, char-grilled to perfection... i normally can't finish a 12 oz... I did when I came here! I just couldn't put down my fork! Honorable mention: bread... allegedly made out of veggies? Waiter and manager didn't know which... still that's pretty good... and the bread was warm and soft... and with some butter.... mmmmm! I also feel I should mention that yes there is a golf course attached to this... haven't played and don't know how so I can't opine on that. Moreover, they do have events. I haven't been to one but I may attend the next one since they are bringing a comic... surf and turf dinner included in price. Willow Bend therefore is a great place to both eat and have some fun! I was able to rectify this late last year when my boss and I were planning a department work event. My coworkers live/work across the country, and the man office is in Van Wert. Every year we do a week of meetings here, and have events afterwards. My boss had the idea to try out Olympic Lanes and have a bowling event, he asked me to go talk to management, get some quotes and check the place out. I liked what I saw. The staff was friendly, the bowling alley was in great shape and it had a very nice and well stocked bar area. I spoke with the owner and she made it so easy to set up this event and for a great price. We got two games on two lanes, drinks, pizza, wings. The night of the event, we all started with having some drinks at the bar, while waiting for everyone to get in. We then had a fun night of bowling, talking, drinking, laughing and catching up with each other in person. I have to thank the staff of Olympic Lanes for making this happen. I have since returned to have some drinks here because the bar is well stocked, service is great, prices are reasonable, food is good. I love this place! If you are in the area and: 1) Want to have a drink at a friendly neighborhood bar 2) Want good pizza, wings and other bar food 3) Want to have some fun bowling with friends or family 4) Have an entertaining corporate/company event with no stress Then you should definitely come to Olympic Lanes!
