It's been almost 2 years since I last reviewed this Piggly Wiggly = time for an update! This has now become my go-to grocery store for most things - whatever I can't get at The Pig, I either get at Walmart, or go out of town for. Due to dieting I don't eat a lot of produce anymore, but I do cruise the produce area sometimes (which is much improved in terms of appearance & pricing) for sales & I just love love love the CARA CARA ORANGES (blood red meat & super juicy delicious!) & sometimes I can get big fat lemons here, which are wonderful squeezed in Pellegrino or some other brand of sparkling water (which I canNOT get at The Pig for some reason - I guess sparkling water is too foo-foo shee-shee for the regular clientele?) Speaking of diet, I'm also surprised & pleased that I'm able to get so many keto-friendly products here at the old-fashioned Pig - like my low-carb sugar (for my coffee) & many different low-carb frozen foods - which means less trips out of town &/or Internet orders for specialty items. I also lucked out & asked about The Pig's generic/organic brand of olive oil on the one day that the regional manager happened to be there. He promised to locate me some from another store (since that item isn't currently in production) & sure enough, HE DID! I think it took about a month or so, but he didn't forget & for that I am grateful! It's a tasty oil for about half the price of the gourmet brands & I will be buying A LOT, if not ALL of it. So life here at The Pig is mostly all good - every once in awhile you'll run into a cranky employee, but they don't seem to last very long... Most everyone else is super helpful, especially when you're trying to find something! I should also mention here that I love that this location still has that old-school look to it. (I hate when Piggly Wigglys upgrade to that generic big-city supermarket look - why do they ruin it like that?!) Stay quaint, Piggly Wiggly. That's what we love about you! read more
