This was awesome!! The kids loved it, we loved it. There were more adults doing this than kids. I think for the value it was good priced. Our kids shared the cheapest bucket they offer with fossils and gems. The gems were bigger than a quarter most and many were dime sized. It took us about a half hour. And the kids split the bucket and left with a baggie full fo treasures. The inside of the building will identify your gems too for free after you do the digging. I love that it's so close to the 3 bears general store and it's easy to get to. They even give you a free gift (no purchase necessary at gem) when you purchase at the 3 bears. It was a cute little gem bottle. Highly recommend. Just do it! read more

I was greeted by three smiling faces on being Brandon, Cody, and Gracie every time I come in these three people are always the biggest amount of help to me. They're fun to talk to. They're very educating. They know a lot about the rocks. They know a lot about the company. They're very persuasive when it comes to getting more buckets to mine through!!! is an absolutely wonderful experience in any time I go and see these three people I make sure that they are a part of my journey there!!! They are wonderful!!! read more

Pigeon Forge Gem Mine is a must-do while you are visiting the Pigeon Forge area. My 12yr old daughter loved it. Lots of gems and even found some shark teeth in her bucket. Fun experience! read more

251.00 I spent was for a blue topaz oval cut amazing stone. The stone is perfect, however the gold setting has tarnished from the beginning. I took it back to the store twice and they just told me I'm sorry there is nothing I can do to help. They offered me a strip of some kind of paper to put in the box to keep it from tarnishing down to a dull copper tone. Very disappointed as any 10k gold I've had has never tarnished. Customer service is not on the top of their list of priorities. read more

Fun experience but pretty pricey! The kids had a good time doing it but I wish the prices weren't so high for rocks. read more

We had a pretty good time here. We bought the big bucket for $65 to split between our 3 boys and they all got a good amount of stuff from it. They have a lot of room and I loved that it was enclosed so we weren't freezing while doing it. Once you're done you can go inside and ask them to tell you about the rocks/stones you mined. read more

We stopped by this Gem Mine and another. We paid more at this mine, but I think my soon enjoyed this one more as well. (Almost 11 year old). I also think he received better gems. read more

Me and my kid had fun doing the gem mine. They had a lot of really nice stones in even the lower price buckets. We went to the museum in the back which was pretty nice and really well laid out. We got helped by Gracie, and that was a wonderful experience. She let us know which gemstones were which, and then recommended certain sizes of cuts for the stones. We're getting them back for a Christmas present for one of our family members. It's a little on the pricier side, but the experience is worth it. Especially with the kiddo. I can't recommend Gracie enough if you go here. Overall, I would 100% go again. read more

The store was gorgeous and a calming environment for my friends and I to enjoy mining and conversing together. The service was great the lady was really sweet, open to any questions and explained everything fully. The selection was great with different sizes of buckets to mine, merchandise and the types of crystals. My 2 friends and I shared a 35$ bucket which was honestly plenty to split for the experience (we each roughly got 22-25 crystals each). But with the price value and how much we enjoyed it so much we bought another to share. The employee shows and sorts out exactly what you found. You can also make jewelry out of the mined crystals but we didn't have time to sadly. read more

I had a great time! I got the $65 bucket, I found lots of good gems and minerals, I will say they misidentified some of the rocks, they told me some of my teal amazonite was actually turquoise which it's pretty difficult to decipher so it's fine. Their shop is wonderful and I'm glad I went. read more

We had 7 children 12 and under. We had 6 adults. And every single one of us loved this place! We bought the $100 bucket which seemed to be the perfect amount for all the kids to have a solid 15-20 minutes of fun! Everyone found some stones they really enjoyed. This business offers a professional to identify all of the stones found which truly enhances the entire experience! I highly highly recommend doing this after you've finished finding all of your stones. You can then have your stones cut into jewelry which was pretty cool. Overall, this was a great experience and our kids wanted to do it again the next day! read more

we had gracie and she was amazing!! so funny !! we had a great time! best place to go if you are in the area

This is a good place for the kids to do some gem "mining". You buy a bucket of sand (there are several different sizes/prices). Then you take it to a flume and "pan" for gems using the supplied wire mesh box. Each of the buckets is seeded with "gems" and they guarantee you'll find some. When you are finished, you bring your booty to the "gemologists" who tell you exactly what you found. There's also a little gem museum/gift shop where you can look at some rocks and fossils. This is a good place to spend an hour with the kids. read more

Elliot was spectacular. Everybody at this place was wonderful. My two boys had so much fun searching for gems out of their big bucket. Then being able to look through everything with Elliot's help, made fining treasure lots of fun. Thank you to Elliot and the rest of the team at pigeon Forge gem mine. You helped one of my sons check some thing off of his bucket list. Highly recommend this place. read more

We past by here on our way to our hotel and decided to stop by, we were not disappointed at all! My girls and I had so much fun finding all our gems and crystals. We got each one of our girls a $35 bucket each of a different color and it was perfect. When you finish mining, you can take your new gems inside the cute little store they have and have them appraised. It was all around a really fun and great experience! read more

Big rockhounds here! We truly enjoyed this experience. We did the $65 bucket and got plenty of minerals and precious stones, it was fun to uncover what was hidden in our bucket. I had never done mining like this before but I did research to make sure that what we got was real. They also will sit down with you afterwards in the shop and tell you got. We got almost 1-4 pieces of each semi preprecious gem plus half a gallon sized zip bag of minerals. We also ordered a ring that's set with a gem that we found. read more

We had a lot of fun, especially my granddaughter. Large gemstones and good value for a family outing.

My family really enjoyed our time here. Also loved that they helped identify some of the stones for you.

The guy outside helping with the buckets, Terry, was extremely helpful and friendly. He was courteous and the only reason this place gets a one star rating. The lady in charge of this establishment began yelling at us as we entered the door because they have "a protocol " to follow. She was obnoxious and berating to the staff as well. She began speaking in front of us saying that there's a $250 charge for customers who are a "pain in the ass". When confronted about this, she basically told us to not be involved in her conversations. A staff member attempted to quieten her as she became more obnoxious. Finally, She left the customer area and went to a back room and stayed until we were gone. Never have I experienced such disrespect for a customer. My heart hurts for her knowing that she is a miserable human being who obviously hates her job and her life. read more

This was a fun experience but overall we found that other mining experiences were better - especially the one in Dollywood. We got some pretty gems and minerals but no one really helped us and the shop was pricey. No one spoke to us besides the guy at the front who just explained what to do and then left. I wouldn't return but giving 3 stars since it was an okay time. read more

Our family are gem enthusiasts and we were very happy with our loot. We got the $100 bucket and we came out with a bar of soap size ruby!!! We went on a Monday afternoon. No one was there. It was nice to have the whole place to ourselves. The value was ok and they had lots of options for buckets. Service was ok, no interaction after sale no instructions were really given after purchase was made, and we had to ask for a chart to identify in the gift shop. They kids had fun finding gems. Recommended for kids ages 3-13. read more

leaving 3 stars, as soon as we walked in we were ignored( we were the only ones there) the guy was sweeping and didn't even acknowledge us. He then walks up out the door and back in the employee side and stares at us. We are travelers so of course we don't know how it works. He didn't explain anything to us until after we asked him what we do, he told us "What bucket do you want?" didn't explain how to do it or anything. Completely rude he was a taller guy with long dirty blonde hair and he was very unprofessional. He did the same exact thing with a family with 3 children walked in, he stood there and stared at them and she said "We don't know what to do". This is ridiculous, and the management needs to get him under control. Leaving 3 stars because other than the guy being rude, it was fun and we enjoyed it. read more

We enjoyed ourselves, it definitely kept the kids attention. You pick a bucket with a shovel, it's filled with sand and gems, you shovel it into the grid then set it into the water to find your gems. Pretty nice experience. $35 for one bucket, they have multiple sizes and options as far as what you want to find. We purchased two of the $35 gem buckets and you can see our picture of the kids findings. read more

I was dieing to go gem mining so we stopped by this place. When we got in we realized how pricey the buckets where but I mean there is very pricey gems just if you buy them there selfs. So we decided to share and get the 100 dollar bucket. (The most money you could pay for a bucket is 1500) We got really cool gems and my sister got a giant piece of rose quarts. We also got a piece cut that we get to pick up tomorrow. We had a 30 dollar coupon for the cuts since we got the 100 dollar bucket. So we really only played 10 dollars for both of us the get a piece cut. If you are okay with paying a price this is the place to go! read more

A friend of mine and I were walking past the doors. One of which was open. My friend looked in and two people were standing there. We saw no signs and instead of asking if they could help us or direct us in the right direction he said this is employees only. My friend apologized and said he didn't see a sign and employee rudely stated there were two. Ok, well again we didn't see them and because of this employees reaction to us we just left. What happened to customer service? If you're at the building, eating and talking whatever the case maybe you're still a representation of the company and associated as such. A little more patience and kindness would have been received better. read more

Pigeon Forge Gem Mine is a one-of-a-kind experience. Don't let the prices of each bucket deter you, your end gem haul is worth more than your initial payment. The different types of minerals and crystals that you can receive in your bucket make the initial price worth it's value. Not to mention the employees who work here are very helpful especially Jesse. He was very helpful and eager to assist us in identifying the types of gems we had found in our bucket. Overall this experience was a 10/10 and would highly recommend anyone to come here because it's fun for all ages and worth it! We came back two days in a row! read more

This is a really neat place for kids and adults alike. Ok maybe it's neater for the girls... When you get here you can either sit inside or outside (under a roof) on either side where there's a trough with water running through it. You go inside the store to pay for your bucket and they give you voucher. There's all sorts of choices for your mining bucket. You can get a kind of anything bucket from $15 to $500. Or you can choose certain gemstone buckets if you're wanting to find a certain one, instead of hoping. You're guaranteed more of those stones if you go for the specialty. If you spend $50 or more you can get one of your stone's cut to a carat for "free", up to $15. Then you can get it set in a pendant, ring, earrings, etc, for a small fee. It's not a bad price, setting a ring will go between $25-$40 and a necklace even cheaper. If you're looking for a nice, unique gift or a great way to remember your trip then this is a great place! The people aren't always the most upbeat and exciting employees but they do their job. read more

We visited this attraction during our vacation in the smokies. The establishment was clean and welcoming. The way it works is you purchase a bucket of sand and gems and go through it to find the gems. They have several different sizes to fit anyone's budget. We decided on the 100.00 bucket since were a family of 6 and we had a blast. We found so much including emerald, ruby and amethyst. We had them inspected and if you want can have them cut and placed into jewelry. The picture I have are the precious more rare stones. This is a must do when in the area it's fun for all ages. read more

Pigeon Forge Gem Mine - The really special stones we found! - Jewelry Near Me - Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

While my family and I enjoyed our visit to the gem mine right before Memorial Day, my review is for their customer service after we left. I spent over $300 for them to make rings out of 2 different stones we got out of our bucket.  I've called more than once to speak to a manager, it's been over a week and I have not gotten any returned calls despite having them confirm my phone number, name, and issue was accurate.  I feel like they were friendly and seemed sincere while taking the message.  At this point it could be a ruse and they just sound pleasant and have no intention of returning calls.  The people I spoke to were unable to state whether they could find my order in the system bc they did not have access.  They said a manager would return my call. It has been over 9 weeks since our visit and I have not received the email they promised that should include the tracking number on my package, nor have I received my jewelry that's probably only valued at $50. I'm very disappointed and hope to receive some sort of response from them.  I would much prefer to have the jewelry made that I picked out.  It would also be nice to even just have someone call to say, sorry we lost your order how can we fix this? read more
