Wear comfortable shoes and come prepared for the experience. There are wall to wall vendors with a ton of people squeezing through the pathway. They have an area where live music is played. Food trucks are setup in this same area if you just need that. I say that because the restaurant vendors along the main walk more than satisfy any craving you could be having. There are stands with cocktails/beer and they even have a spiked bubble tea! Everything is really official. I will say bring cash. Some of the vendors take cards, and there are two ATMs that I counted, but they kept giving me error codes. It took multiple tries to get my actual cash. I'm not sure if this is the usual practice so beware. Parking was $10, but given the location free parking is definitely in walking distance. All in all a great time.

If you're not too adventurous with your food, taste it from friend or else you'll be out $7 - $10 for something you don't like. Or, head to the area with the tables where they have about 3 -4 food trucks. If you see sweets while you're deciding what entree to get, I'd advise you to just buy it and keep it with you (unless it's ice cream) because they can sell out! I, unfortunately, missed out on the Vietnamese coffee ice cream that Mason's Creamery was selling but got there in time to try the jackfruit ice cream. They also have some craft type tables with trinkets and even the typical Asian stuffed animal toys. They open the night market at 5 PM but I would suggest going between 6:30 PM and 9 PM because the food starts to run out and you'll get there before the sun sets (easier to decide what food to buy) and before the crowds come. Parking is a bit of a struggle, but if you drive around you'll be able to find something within 3-5 blocks of the area. My friend and I also took the rail to tower city and then split an Uber or Lyft to the Night Market which ended up being about $7-$8 one way. If you're like me and wake up the next day wishing you had more food from last night, bring a plastic bag or grocery bag and buy food to bring home. Now if only I could take home a quart of that taro or Thai tea ice cream from Mason's Creamery...

The community I've seen and met who accumulate at this concert club are all genuine, caring and kind people, I haven't witnessed any disrespect or angry disputes. This club makes me feel part of the scene knowing that I am in a safe accepting little family! the food is amazing as well, I crave their loaded fries oh gosh so good!!! Their wings they have are the kind that are that have a nice crispy outer layer of flavor that conceals they very tender and moist meat inside :) I will be returning many times in the future, this is by far my favorite venue I've been to!

If you are Looking for a more comfortable seat I would upgrade to better seats for that purpose. The sound was decent and show was amazing. There was one bathroom trailer for women and two for men. That really did not make sense. Parking was easy and it did not take too long to get out of the parking lot. I would definitely see another show there, but would probably upgrade my seats. I attended the Lakewood Summer Meltdown Festival on 15 July 2023 which was a Saturday. Oh, it was a meltdown alright - not only did it rain at certain points throughout the day, but it was also hot too so needless to say, we were all melting...haha. For the most part though, I didn't walk all day in an umbrella so besides the rain, my friends and I had fun. BIG YET FUN ATMOSPHERE -- The festival is large because it spans down about 6 side streets all along Detroit Ave. in downtown Lakewood. There was a fun 1-mile family run and walk which I didn't do but I saw kids and adults lining up to race. There were many vendors and I didn't see them all or I passed through some of the vendor stations without fully stopping in each vendor booth. I did stop by the Seeds of Literacy table where I could take a free book plus I received a mini notebook, tote bag, and a pencil case from them. It was great to hear about all the wonderful things they do to bring literacy to those in need. They are always seeking volunteers to help so reach out to them if you are interested. If you have young children including teenagers, this festival is a great way to bring them out to experience food and culture in a fun and safe environment. Some vendors had activities for young kids to do such as arts and crafts. FOOD AND DRINKS -- There were about 7 options to choose from which isn't alot. I also bought some filipino egg rolls, called Lumpia, from the Parilya food truck and they were delicious. I think I bought the beef and pork lumpia or just the beef one. I also bought a 16-oz bottle of fresh orange juice from a new company called "Socially Raw". Specifically, I got the "Buster" which includes organic pineapple, orange, lemon, and ginger. To satisfy my sweet tooth, I bought some small cake pops from a cake pop shop but I forgot the name of the business. SAFETY -- I saw some Lakewood police officers walking down Detroit Ave. to make sure everyone remains safe. If you are looking to get out of your house or apartment in the summer months then I recommend the Lakewood Summer Meltdown festival in July as a fun activity. As of the time of the writing of this review, the festival was held in July 2023. I would suggest more food options for next year.
