The art gallery is small but don't let that fool you. The staff and the docents took the time to explain their collection. It felt more like a guided tour and made all the difference. Their permanent exhibits feature many local artists like Aisha Harrison. While I don't have photos to post except a couple (Seattle during the pandemic), I would love for you to visit and experience it in person. There is no entrance fee though donations are encouraged. There is a bistro and a gift shop. On select days they have an outdoor market and a live band. What's not to like!!!

Went to my first Mariners game ever and had an epic experience! It was kids appreciation day at the…read moreballpark so they really rolled out all the stops for the kids... free Mario themed jersey giveaway, Mariners pennants, and prizes. They even let kids stay after the game to run the bases afterwards. They definitely have fans at the heart of everything they do. The stadium itself is beautiful with sweeping views of downtown Seattle from multiple areas and Elliott Bay from the top deck. There are tons of retail spaces and a multiple of food options. Some are familiar brands - Salt and straw, Moto pizza and Ivars as examples - and others are more generic. Many of the seats are under cover in case of inclement weather but others are not (the outfield looked almost entirely exposed). The scoreboards are large and easy to read. The music between plays and innings was lively! And the fans were happy and loyal. People were considerate of one another and everyone seemed to be having a good time. I can't wait to go back for another game! Highly recommended for an amazing urban sports experience in a wonderful city. Go Mariners!

I went to check out the Public Peapod Program, which provides free one hour boat rentals to the…read morepublic. Took a while to get set up but there's not a lot of staff so patience is important! There's also not a lot of boats so if it gets super busy you might be waiting for a while. Best time to go is in the morning. We got there early before they opened and there was one other group already waiting too. Hard to find the entrance - we entered from the side between the two museums and not the south entrance. Rowing in the peapods is fairly straightforward after a while, but the staff is very friendly, helps you with lifejackets, and guide you on how to get started. Arguably the hard part comes first trying to undock out of the bay because you have to turn out of a narrow area and fine tune your skills before you go out into the lake. You can go as far as you want within the one hour you're given - apparently no one has reached the bridge before so if you come often you could try and make that your goal xp I did check out the museum afterwards. It's not too large, but might be more enjoyable for maritime historians or ship enthusiasts. It's filled with displays and information of different ships, not a lot of interactive exhibits. Overall this is a really cool place! I'd definitely want to check out more of their events like public sail. It's very informative and a great resource for the community to learn about sailing and get hands on experience. Kudos and thanks to all the volunteers and staff!

The Center for Wooden Boats is most well known for its free wooden rowboat program. It's a first-come, first-served program offering a completely free way to get out on the water. As a family visiting the area, this was an awesome activity to keep us busy for an hour and save us some dough! Make your way to the docks and find the boat house. Check in with the staff, and if a boat is available, they will get you set up quickly with life jackets and some oars to take one of their magnificent wooden rowing vessels out on the open waters for a full hour. Even if a boat is not available, you'll only have to wait a bit to get out in your own rowboat. The staff was ultra-friendly and knowledgeable. They even have a little gift shop located in the main museum building. Highly recommend checking this place out as a tourist or a local.

It's a fun stop for kids- as chalk is provided to draw on the resident pig statue or a few designated walls. The market garden has lots of fun and whimsical features, including water features, chalk-walls open to the public, art, mosaics, creative seating, and more. A particularly impressive feat since this lush garden is comprised entirely of containers and raised beds. Vegetables are inter-planted with flowers and supply the food bank and Pike Place's Senior Center. On a clear day, the views from this spot are unbeatable. The haze on this day hid Mt Rainier, but often visible is Mt Rainier to the left and the Olympic mountains to the Right, with views of miles of Puget Sound and beaches, the Seattle Waterfront, passing Washington State Ferries, cruise ships, and the ferris wheel always in view. In the middle of all the hustle and bustle and throwing of fish, there is a peaceful garden with views of Puget Sound and seating to relax from the crowds. Make sure to explore the different art and produce that is scattered around the rooftop garden and don't forget to write your name and where you are visiting from on one of the chalkboard surfaces! A lovely little gem tucked behind Pike Place Fish Market.
