The base is not too thick, the cream has the right consistency (not too watery, not too thick) and the taste is divine. Fair prices and friendly staff as well. They also bake their own cookies which are very good. Especially the ones with candied oranges and lemons. A nice bakery in a lovely town. Came back for more a few days later. Great stuff.

But we loved the Tourte "Le Pave Du Chateau" even better. Covered with chocolate AND then chocolate powder. Creamy inside with a bit of jam. It's pure sweetness. It's heavy, it's filling....it's perfect. Really one of the best cakes we've ever bought in a bakery. Came back a few days later to get some more. Prices are fair - especially for its quality.

Even though I live in the States I always stop by here for a meal when I'm in the area. What's the food like? It's a very typical local dish : dough, melted butter, salt, and cumin seeds in a wood fired brick oven. How could you not like that? You should drink white wine or hot tea with the meal. Delicious but definitely not low cal or non fat ! They need a minimum of 5 customers per evening to fire the brick oven so call ahead and make a reservation ! Enjoy !
