I live in a very well to do neighborhood and unfortunately, these guys will look up house values and charge accordingly so while some neighborhoods will get $10k decks, not mine. If I was living in DC suburbs then they'd charge us $50k for the deck. I got the PVC Aztek material with metal posts. The guys did the job in 2 days. I was worried when I saw scuffs on my new deck the day after install, but Luke came to buff them out. With Aztek, you have to be very careful about scratching the deck with furniture so I've yet to put anything on my deck! We rarely eat out there anyways. We're not outdoorsy people.

My experience with McKenney Builders fell significantly short of what was contracted and paid for…read more The project was not completed as a turnkey build. Some Materials and labor that I had paid for were not ultimately provided, requiring me to hire additional contractors and purchase materials again in order to complete portions of the project upward of $15k. The job site was frequently inactive for extended periods. Before final inspections, I incurred additional expenses to address four active plumbing leaks and the resulting damage that were not corrected. I also received a gas water heater instead of the electric water heater specified for the project. Interior doors, baseboards, and other paid-for items remained unprovided & uninstalled. Floors that were intended to be flush between rooms were constructed with approximately 2-inch height transitions. The exterior deck foundation was never built although paid for. Communication became a significant issue as the project progressed. Concerns were repeatedly raised, but solutions were not provided. Several design decisions that had been provided in writing were not implemented as directed, requiring additional corrective work and cost (!) where possible. The project also experienced ongoing quality and oversight issues, including damaged flooring that was never repaired, unfinished & uneven stairs, prolonged plumbing issues and delays, construction debris remaining on site despite payment for debris removal services, and kitchen cabinets that were being installed significantly out of level, requiring me to stop the work and hire another contractor to complete the installation. As a result, I incurred substantial additional costs, spent considerable time coordinating corrective work, and ultimately had to manage completion of portions of the project myself after the original scope remained unfinished. Prospective customers should carefully review project scope, material delivery, change-order procedures, completion requirements, and contractor oversight responsibilities before entering into an agreement.

Once I spoke with Nick ( the owner ) there was a sense of trust I felt, he understood the project more than any other contractor I spoke with so far. He quickly came out to perform an estimate, and I dreaded the idea of putting money out for a new deck.. Not only was his estimate insanely reasonable, he didn't suggest a new deck at all. He repaired some boards that were rotted and loose, and refinished the whole deck. My jaw dropped from the results, not only is IronRidge Contracting great at building decks, they are equally as great at repairing them! We received very poor customer service from Sam and the owner, Mike. After multiple calls and…read moreemails to correct a mistake they made with our crown molding costing us over $2500, they have been unwilling to refund what I paid for the molding and insist on me buying more at cost ($1250) after I already paid them initially. There were also errors with an oak trim piece (3" wide instead of 5") for my range hood and incorrect drawer fronts on our island that do not match the other wall cabinets. The cabinet touch-up kit has items missing and an incorrect color touch up so I have no way to fill nail holes on the trim. They have said these were their errors and that they would re-order the pieces, but they have yet to do so. I would hesitate to trust them if you are considering doing a kitchen design as it is simply not worth the risk and months of delay due to missing/incorrect items. Please look at their reviews as most of the high rated reviews are made up profiles with one or only a handful of reviews. Buyer beware. [Update, I just noticed the owner posted a reply today stating they warned against this crown molding and that is simply not true, in fact, I wanted two-stage crown and they advised against it since I was going with 39" cabinets. He also states that he would still like to help complete the job to my liking and to call him, but I can assure you that we talked twice this week including yesterday afternoon and he refused to refund even just the cost of my crown molding unless I buy more from him. This is no longer an option as I have already spent hours making custom crown and getting paint matched for the trim. He said at the end of the call the "we're done" so not sure why he posted this today. We have not received the 5" oak trim board, missing touch-up items, or corrected drawer fronts. I even offered to keep the incorrect drawer fronts if he would refund the cost of my crown and he would not.]
