Staying 2 nites here at the Pie Town RV Park..and I've got to say, this is one super friendly family running this! The RV part is clean..graveled..the scenery is rustic New Mexico with a hands down beautiful vista view from the western end of the park. Of course, it's Halloween weekend, and we're traveling back to Florida..so we are kinda missing the trick or treating etc..Well...lots of people showed up with a rat rod pulling a hay wagon! Looked like a lot of fun! But we don't know anyone..So I walked over, introduced myself, and asked if there was a Halloween parade!..The people were SUPER friendly..told us how here it's family ranches, miles apart..and what they do is gather up the kids..then pull them around from one ranch candy stop to the other..that way the kids, all in costumes and just adorable, can trick or treat together and get candy!..the next thing really was super sweet..we were invited to come join in with them!..then I realized this is a family run park..and the vibe matches the people..awesome! You're close to the famous Pie Town pie cafe..which we've read is really good. It's a neat and quiet rv park, and we felt safe..enjoyed the views..and wi if! :-) It's really close to the popular continental divide hiking trail..We can easily refer this RV campground to anyone..and we'd definitely camp here again if we find ourselves coming back down highway 60 :-) Thanks to our hosts for their hospitality and the invite!..It's neat to know there's nice people out there..and RV parks like this :-) Happy Halloween! read more
