I'm a performer and I desperately needed better and up-to-date headshots. I chose PicMe! after seeing their flyers in Hunter College. Their limited-time $150 deal (which includes hair and makeup) was almost too good to be true! My studio shoot took place in Asia's apartment in the very quaint Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn. Asia was very accommodating, even serving drinks. She took her time doing my hair and makeup and worked with me to get the look I wanted, even if it meant me asking her to try something completely different. The headshots on their website had looked very edgy, and I was worried if they would be able to make a more traditional look like the one I wanted. They definitely can do any look, from professional to edgy. Lana and Asia took plenty of time setting up the lighting and the cameras for the shoot. They took turns behind the camera and even used two different lenses. They certainly know how to make a girl feel beautiful! They were open to my ideas and gave me pointers on how to look more natural in front of the camera. They both are so sweet. They took over 300 photos (no time limit or shot limit) and sent me 150 or so to choose my 8 from. My final 8 were sent to me in two versions - one for online use, and one for printing. They kindly offered more touch-ups if I wanted. As I told them at the end of my shoot, I feel like I can finally start my career now that I have headshots I can be proud of displaying. The quality is quite good for the price! It was a fun and intimate experience where I felt like I truly was the star of the show. Asia and I have been working together for some time and we actually met on set earlier in the year before she decided to start PicMe! She is an amazing hair and makeup artist and her and her partner decided to make photography their thing because they both have so much experience with cameras, on set, and behind the scenes. I've been fortunate enough to know these two a short amount of time, but can tell you that for their price, their work, and their experience, they are SOOOOO worth it. Their website is speaking for itself. I've only seen them progress since I first shot with them (as their first client) and can tell you I'm a returning client NOT BECAUSE of our friendship. PicMe! shoots with a Canon 5D Mark 3, one of the best cameras one can buy and they are fully prepared for indoor and outdoor shots with top quality lighting and equipment. Asia and her partner make shooting easy because they have such a great eye for the shot. Even more so, the two are some of the most calming, spiritually-sound humans you can be around when being in front of a camera. They make you feel at home, comfortable, and give great direction. I can't say enough good things about Asia and Lana. I rarely write Yelp reviews but these two did such a good job I wanted to. To start, I was nervous. I hate having my photo taken. I'm an entrepreneur and my business has grown to the point where I needed something more professional yet not stuffy for our website. After delaying for a while, I bit the bullet, looked for a while on Yelp, and I decided to go with Pic Me. They seemed more earnest than other options. And Lana and Asia are two of the friendliest, most down to earth and yet professional people I've come across. They put me at ease instantly, did great makeup, helped me select what to wear, offered a combination of indoor and outdoor shots with multiple looks for each, took their time, and clearly cared about getting the right shot, look, essence. So recently it was that dreaded time again for "new headshots"-- not my favorite thing as it is always a costly endeavor with satisfying results rarely guaranteed. I chose to book their 1 hour $175.00 session-- yup, that's not a typo: $175.00!!! At first I was worried that I'd "get what I paid for" but I got far more than I ever expected. In fact the shoot was going so well that at the end of the hour I asked to upgrade to the $350.00 3 hour session-- which Asia & Lana happily accommodated even though it meant reshuffling their personal schedules. I went to Pic Me for a professional looking headshot for a new job I was starting. The location was extremely convenient and the ladies were very efficient. It was an hour-long session in which I was given the opportunity to use multiple looks. They took a ton of shots and sent me over 30 to choose from. They then retouched my top choices. All for a very reasonable price! I was very pleased with the experience and the outcome. They're also super nice ladies and make you feel confident and comfortable in what can be an awkward setting for someone not accustomed to a professional photo shoot.
