Bayliss Public Library is such a nice gem for this community. With many selections available, this…read morespot is suited for readers of all types. I thought it was neat that they had memory trigger bags for those with Alzheimer's or Dementia, series sets to check out at once, audio books, and so much more. Even cake pans! You're also able to rent things on the app, and they make it easy to renew books virtually as well. And when I slipped up and forgot to renew, they let me know they don't collect late fees! They're an asset to the Soo community and I recommend everyone check them out and register for a library card.

We stopped here just before crossing the border into the Canadian leg of our…read morefishing/camping/drinking/gambling 6-state trip. We had to find a place to camp along the way to Toronto that night (too cheap to get a hotel room two nights in a row...plus we had a tent with us and i wanted to do some fishing in Canada) so we needed some internet. Outta the corner of my eye, I spied this tiny little library (well, it was really because two chicks were getting off of moped they were sharing and they happened to be parked in front of said library). What a place!! Free internet! NO questions asked! By far the most stoned human being I've ever spoken to in my life!! I've seen people that appeared more shellacked, but this guy actually conversed with me for a second and he was dizzity-DIZZ-UN. While checking my email for the first time in a week (and seeing that some dude bought something from me on eBay the day I left and I wouldn't be shipping that for another couple days...whoops), I kept spying over dude's should to see what he was mumbling about. He youtubed methadone, methamphetamine, and oxycontin videos for the hour we were there. Why youtube people on the same drugs you're obviously on? My buddy suggested that they were probably his own videos and he was probably commenting on himself. Touche. Yep, so this library was sweet. Did the trick. Totally free. Everyone was cool. Except dude when he both bummed a cigarette and a lighter. And then asked us for a ride 'up the hill' even though the place is pretty effin' flat. And we had no room in the overstuffed-Jetta.

If I could give this extraordinary library ten stars, I would! I had been told how beautiful and…read moreamazing this place actually was, but had never been until today. When entering, it looks like just a very nice library entry, and then you see the real beauty behind it. The library is a pristinely renovated school built in 1927. The renovation is absolute perfection. You have to actually visit and see it to get the feeling that goes with it. It has multiple wings, artwork, children's sections, auditory and visual sections, complete with many different things for them to do aside from read. The interactive aspect of this library is Outstanding. They have computer systems for people to work with, lounge areas, specialty book areas, even the bathrooms are done in beautiful ways for each section! They have devices that you can rent for training, and so much more. It is truly an emotional experience to go in, look at the history, and see all of the beautiful touches that have Been made for the public. We spoke with a lovely woman, Mary Ann Chew, who is on the board, and also helped create all of the beautiful things. You will see when entering the library. From the architecture, the art work, to the availability of materials and even a room dedicated to book sales, you will NOT be disappointed!
