The lady pulls up the vehicle in their system, gives me a quote for the part I want. Satisfied with the cost I paid my entry fee ( mandatory to walk out on the yard). I go and load up all my tools and make my way out to the vehicle that I was interested in and it was stripped already of all the parts I was interested in. So the scam is, they lead you to believe they have the part with their "fancy" website with lookups for parts, then charge you an mandatory entry fee to find out they don't have what they claimed to have. Junkyards in eastern Queens, NY were a favorite place for us to scavenge for parts when the need arose. It was the early 1990s and we were all college kids on a budget with cars to fix. I was so excited when I heard about LKQ, that I forgot my tool bag at home. After signing in and paying a three dollar entrance fee, the goodly older gentleman lent me the companies four way lugnut wrench. After being furnished with a printout of Make, Model, Row and Space -- off I went into the sea of twisted metal. Fourteen vehicles fit the description and in no time, I was spun around and lost my bearings on the first three cars that I had looked at. The Ford section was not well labeled, and many of the cars had been really stripped down to the nuts and bolts. Fortunately I popped a trunk that was not giving in too easily and Eurika, I struck spare tire treasure. A perfect Goodyear, nice treds, no rust and tire iron. Hauling it back is no fun, but wheelbarrows are available for extra heavy, longer distance carries. "I don't take shit (if you wanna call it racism) from anyone" I have gone to a lot of different LKQ around the states this one in particular so far is been the worst I understand that the small capacity of space limits them to just a few cars compared to most, so far they started doing the 90 day warranty but staff is not warning the clients they just automatically put in the warranty, the cashier who took care of me someway got all mad at me because I didn't want the warranty I don't know if it is because I am Latino that he thought I wouldn't speak up he tried to make me feel less of a person but encounter that I don't take shit (or if you wanna call it racism) from anyone, it was a simple fix and he made it seem as in if I was stupid, he made a return so I get a disposable fee and recharge the items again and you know when you have an account you lose your points when you make a return and he acted like if what I was telling him he didn't know or I was not telling the truth, simple fix people or how about this, give us that extra warning that you will charge us more with that new warranty thing and at least give us a chance to except or deny, yes there is a piece of paper by register saying about it (some people don't ready English) but we just came from catching sun and sweat and all we want is to get the hell out of there do not take advantage of that fact PLEASE. read more

Autos are sorted by brand or "import" with nice signage to direct you where you want to go. All the vehicles are prelifted on stable welded platforms so you can get in/under/around to find what you need. After you pull the part you need, the prices are low enough to make it worth your time, and if they don't have what you want, you can always call up and ask if your desired car came in so you don't have to drive out there for nothing. read more

June 5, 2020 Today I called to sell a vehicle to LKQ. They quoted me $965. I called a second time and spoke to a different representative, which she quoted me $965. When I got to LKQ, they did a bait and switch, the man offered me $500!! I immediately left with the vehicle I brought in to sell and called the LKQ Callcenter. The representative told me they had an entirely different car than what I told them on the phone. I explained that I've owned this vehicle for 9 years, and this is no fault of mine, and please make good on the quote that was given to me (2 times) over the phone. Called the number for the business they stated I could get into the yard up until 5pm. When I arrived the door stated you couldn't go in 30 minutes before close. I spoke to an employee asking if I could grab a quick little plastic piece for the steering wheel seeing that it was 26 minutes to close. He said nope and didn't even consider the fact I just drove in traffic to get here. Poor customer service, rude employees, wouldn't recommend. Take your business to another yard. read more

I love this place. It's a junk yard, not a restaurant so I don't understand why people complain so much about customer service. They have to deal with a lot of unfriendly customers who are pocketing parts, but they always give good deals to the people who are honest and friendly to them. If you keep an eye on their inventory on there website, you can find just about anything if you get there quick enough. It's the most popular junk yard in town so of course popular parts are sold fast. Never once have they had quality service. You cannot ever walk in and expect a smile. The most gloomiest people around town. Worthless inventory you can't even bring the tools allowed in. Some rules completely defeat the purpose of going to get the parts because all the things that have to be removed for a larger product or something. Had a photo of a car they had in inventory on their site. Vehicle was complete. I needed 4 rims and the vehicle had all four on it in photo. The hours are lousy for someone who works. I had to go early Sunday morning. Told the attendant the vehicle I was interested in. She looked on the computer and gave me the row letter. Then she told me it cost $3 to go out into the yard. I reluctantly paid even though there was nothing on their site or anywhere in the store that I saw indicating a fee. I guess they need that extra revenue to pay for the misleading tv ads. I walked up and down the row several times before I found the car. I couldn't find it because It was basically a shell with one rim remaining on it. Car had been stripped pretty good. Definitely a far cry from what the website showed. Never been so deceived by any company like that before. I'll never go back for sure. eBay motors for me hence forth. This has been a couple months since I've been but the service was so terrible I want to make sure I get the review up. The employees (including lady manager) are god awful. The lady at the counter couldn't stop sucking on her Popsicle long enough to talk to me. Even walked away and grabbed a second one when she was done with the first. Someone sold me a regulator assembly for my window (I had no clue what I was doing) apparently it comes with the cord. I did not know that. If I had known that I would have ran back in and grabbed it. Well I got it home and it turns out the part i bought was broken as well. So I drove back with the receipt and they made me stand in the lobby for 30 minutes before the manager came out and said they couldn't do anything for me because it was sold as a full regulator assembly and I didn't have the whole thing. She told me she was checking the camera footage from that day. She said she couldn't prove it was true. So I left there and went to parks and the entire assembly brand new was like the same price as the crap LKQ sold me. My fault for not knowing what I was doing. But their employee also did not know what he was doing. I would have even taken a store credit but she gave me nothing. The manager was extremely rude. Now I will go anywhere but here. No stars!!!!! Just had the worst experience ever with LKQ. Maybe they are ok for buying parts, BUT, do not expect them to be honorable when selling your car. We wrecked our car, which was still drivable and in good condition. We were quoted $325 if they didn't tow it, no exceptions as long as we have the quote number before being pulled on their lot. We drove back to town ( 4 hours ) one way to complete the deal. After signing everything, we're handed a check for $50 less, saying ever location has a right to reduce the amount. So much for there sign saying they support their vets! We were in town to go to the VA hospital when the accident occurred! read more

The check out guy at Charleston LKQ on Monday did not give me my military discount. After the transaction I asked him about it and was told by him " It's too late now to do anything about it". When I got home I put the parts in my car except a couple of parts small parts I didn't need and I returned them, they all were marked with the colored ink. One part was a air sensor. I noticed then that the check out person had charged me for two sensors When I returned the parts he became loud and boisterous and told me it was my job to check the receipt he gave me. The manager came over and I explained the problem and that I had not received my military discount. The clerk became angry and loud saying " I gave you military discount". Of course like most people I was in a bind & get there to find the door locked @ 4:22 & I slipped through the exit door to ask what was up to be told they are closed. when I questioned the hours on the door I was told by the manager I needed to go read the door. In the listed hours it closes @ 6:00 but on paper below it said Winter hours 5:00. When I was told I needed to read the door I told her she needed to read the door as well & she readily followed me out of the lobby on to the sidewalk in a threatening manner to the extent that I asked her if she planned to hit me or something. At that point she turned around to walk away & called me a "piece of shit". when I tried to get her name she ran into the admin area & wouldn't come out. Of course her co-workers wouldn't reveal her name. I went as far as to contact the yard manager of their Savannah yard & left a voice mail to not even get a return phone call.
