Pick and Move "moved" us in March. I've waited to post this review as I've been fighting with Ed to get refunded both for the work that I paid him to do that wasn't completed and to replace all of our property that his company damaged. He has now stopped replying to my messages while still owing me money, so now I have no reason to not finally share my experience. Leading up to my move Ed was very eager for my business, telling me how excited he was I chose him and how impressed I would be with his service. I made arrangements for Pick and Move to pack our apartment one day, move everything the next and then come back and clean the apartment for our move out inspection on the third day. Problems started on the first day when they were supposed to be packing. I was told they would be there for 9 am, they were an hour late getting to my apartment. They were barely there for 3 hours when they ran out of boxes and left to get more. They were gone for an hour, came back around 2 pm and left for the day before 4 pm, not finished packing. They told us they would be back the next day around 8-9 am to finish the packing and start moving things. The second day, they arrived on time but were short staffed. They did not have enough people to finish packing so the movers took what they could and I was promised that the final packing and moving would be done on the day they were coming to clean the apartment. They were moving boxes until 8:30 pm and as they were unloading the truck I was already noticing that a number of our belongings were damaged. Ed assured me that everything would be taken care of, he would cover the damage and everything would be finished the next day when they come to clean my apartment. On the day my apartment was to be cleaned, my wife took the day off of work so she could be at the apartment. We were told the cleaner would be there for 8 am. They did not arrive for 8 am, my wife tried to get a hold of Ed and didn't get a reply for over an hour. He said he was trying to get in touch with his cleaning crew. It was another hour before he got back to us saying that he was still going to try to get everything done that day. Between about 11 am and 2 pm there was no communication from Ed. We had to bring in another mover and cleaner to make sure we were able to move out of the apartment for the date we had given the landlord. At that point I told Ed I expected a refund since we were now paying increased rates for a short notice move and cleaners to come in to finish the job that his company started and did not finish. Even then it still took him almost 2 more hours before he replied to me with more apologies and excuses. He tried to tell me that the amount I was asking for was wrong as it wasn't what he had quoted me. He had forgotten that I had all his texts and emails with the quotes on them. He also tried to tell me that they pointed out damaged items that very obviously were not damaged before his company touched them and had no proof of any damage or telling us anything was damaged. For the next 2 weeks as we were unpacking and finding more and more damaged items I was sending him pictures of the damage while he didn't reply. A month later we were still finding damaged items, expensive collectibles and gifts with sentimental value that can't be replaced that were thrown in garbage bags to be moved and were crushed. When his movers noticed the damage they did, they wrapped the items in packing tape, damaging them further. It was another month before Ed finally sent a partial refund. We moved at the beginning of March and it was now the beginning of May. I asked when we could expect the rest of our refund. Ed did not reply. Another week later I asked again, this time I told him I would be taking him to small claims court. That got his attention and a week later we got another partial refund. Another week went by with no communication from Ed so again I threatened him with a bad review. That got his attention and he sent another partial refund. He begged me not to leave a bad review and told me the reason why he was having so much trouble refunding me was because he had so many other customers that he also needed to send refunds to. He also offered to pay me additional money to not leave a bad review and continued to send me messages making excuses but not accepting any responsibility himself or refunding the rest of the money he owed me. This was at the end of May. By the end of June with no communication from Ed I sent him one final message to remind him of the amount he still owed me. It's been 3 weeks since I sent that message and there has been no replies from Ed so I have decided to finally post this review . In conclusion; Ed and his company Pick and Movers are at best incompetent and at worst scammers. The reason why they don't have more bad reviews is because he holds people's refunds hostage and even offers to pay them to not leave a bad review. read more

Showed up 3 hours after our agreed time and damaged my belongings while moving. I was promised reimbursement for this and a discount for the inconvenience, neither of which happened. Don't even waste your time read more

Edwin Jada, Owner of Pick & Move = dishonourable, disrespectful THIEF. I contacted Pick & Move to help in Sept, to make things easy & less of a headache. They were highly rated, reasonably priced business...I was happy to support local...but EDWIN has caused me SEVERE STRESS since. They were *initially* VERY responsive via email to secure my business, seemed like genuine, kind, honest humans. There was a 30% discount. *SEEMED*-LIES. He's despicable after what has occurred. I sent a $100 deposit on Sept 20, 2024 to secure a date: Sept 28. The deposit goes toward/is deducted from my FINAL TOTAL AMOUNT. BUT WASN'T. I OVERPAID $100 (he "forgot" to remind me/let me...and who remembers that SMALL detail when they just underwent the stressful ordeal of packing and moving?? Least he could've done is remind me) & they LOST a $40 item of mine, HE AGREED TO REIMBURSE ME $140 BUT NOW OVER A MONTH & HAS NOT EVEN AFTER MANY EMAILS. Said he would on Nov. 8 but DIDN'T!!! I have proof of this all. The move happened, it was all helpful/great... although they were at least 1-2hrs LATE, & I had requested 3 movers b/c I wanted it to go faster so I could spend LESS - should have been $367.50 + 5% GST ($18.38) = $385.88...they only came with 2 movers for the 1st hour & then 3 movers for the last 2.5 hours... so I overall spent MORE than I was quoted & wanted = $425 (I rounded up the cents), which is $40 MORE THAN I SHOULD'VE FOR MY ORIGINAL QUOTE. For the extra 30 mins, he said he knew I wanted 3 but only got 2 movers, & so he said to transfer him what I thought was "Fair"...I transferred EXACT $$ based on their fees. I WAS HONEST. I WAS RESPECTFUL. UNLIKE EDWIN and Pick & Move. I contacted him Oct 5 informing him that I was missing 1 item that I KNOW his mover had taken (black coat rack, $40) - asked him to look. He said he would look (Oct 8) but couldn't find it (Oct 18). I asked for reimbursement since lost under THEIR watch (Oct 18). He AGREED (Oct 21). By Oct 30 NOTHING sent. Emailed again..No reply. Emailed AGAIN Nov 6 when I found I OVERPAID because of the deposit, so now $140 needed. HE replied Nov7 he'd send it on Nov 8. HE DIDN'T!! WHY WOULDN'T YOU JUST SEND THE E-TRANSFER RIGHT WHEN YOU SENT ME THAT EMAIL?? Make it make sense. YOU LIAR!! Now Nov28, I have emailed 8x more. PAY ME! I sent Interac REQUEST Nov 6, still unfulfilled and I have not been paid back. JUST PAY ME BACK AND BE A DECENT HUMAN!!! It's not your money to keep and I have expenses. read more

I wish I could give zero stars, such poor logistics and communication surrounding my move. is it so difficult to be on time and not break things? the very reason you hire a company is so things run smoothly. would suggest everyone look elsewhere this is the most unprofessional company I have ever had this displeasure of hiring. read more
