Picaboo took my money for a yearbook and now is saying I have to cancel the order and order again to have the standard personalization pages. The customer service is terrible. Given my experience over the past 12 months, even if their software became the best in the market, as a business they no longer have my trust. We have been with Picaboo Yearbooks for three years. The first two years we were able to create beautiful yearbooks of superior quality and the experience was smooth and straightforward throughout. Then the yearbook division of Picaboo was purchased by a company called Vidigami that is primarily a photo sharing and organizing software. It sounds like a match made in heaven, but for us it was sheer hell. Every step of the way was handled poorly. We were told that they had created a new HTML platform that would be all set and ready to use before school started August 2017. When August arrived we were told they were working on the kinks, but not to worry. Then we were told December. Meanwhile, the same problems we were having using the software remained, none were being fixed. Simple functionality like arranging the page order. Nope. Didn't work. When we asked in January if we could simply go back to the Flash software that actually worked we were told that for complicated reasons (like our 'project' being tied to its own storefront and having to refund all orders and force parents to reorder the new flash project) as well as 'legal' reasons we were unable to switch back anyways. We were stuck. Trying to make it work we eventually had to have their developers go into the software themselves and rearrange the pages for us. We were handed off to the head of sales who took our schools yearbooks (yes, we have TWO at our school, both with Picaboo) on herself. My co-editor and I sat down for a conference call with our contact to decide how we were going to get our book completed, printed and delivered on time and were immediately informed that we knew what we were getting into, that this was a BETA software and we were informed that it could be like this. When we were originally told about this software there was no mention of it being BETA. When we first opened the software a small popup appeared that had the word BETA on it in small letters. When we asked about it, we were told that it would be ready by August 2017 when school started. Nor were we informed until we attempted to use them that the HTML version of the yearbook did not have the option of the flip book we had come to love, or the option for parents to purchase additional personalized pages. (I have parents that purchase upwards up 30 pages and put EVERYTHING for the year in that one book; Christmas at Grandma's, T-ball pictures, birthdays, etc.) The squeaky wheel apparently gets the attention of the entire food chain, because I spent 30 painful minutes on the phone getting the runaround from the CEO himself in the middle of this fiasco. A conversation in which he referred to me as a Power User, implying that they were fully aware of what they were doing when they unleashed this software on users like myself. I was told that as a minority they didn't feel that these features were important enough to continue offering them. Although I pointed out to him that his software was not even at BETA level and clearly had not been vetted in-house before going to consumers in addition to the fact that businesses like his succeed by offering more customization, not less, I felt that my concerns were not important to whatever his vision of the company is. The conversation came across as a shrug at the problems we were having and a 'let's just get this book published so we can all move on' approach. If only it had gone smoothly from there. We received our entire shipment of books with less than three weeks until the end of the school year. We opened the boxes to find that one of our yearbooks was completely missing the spine text and the other was missing spine text, the quality of the colors and contrast were faded and without depth as if I had printed them on an old printer in my garage. In addition to all that, the book had printing issues on some of the pages where the images were rendered incorrectly from the HTML software to the software that sends them to print causing our school mascot to look like a zombie. We immediately called our contact and it took them precious days to figure out how to place the text on the spine of both books and sent us a proof to confirm correct print quality and correction of the images that rendered incorrectly of the second book. Our entire shipment of reprinted books arrived with less than three days to go through them for errors and distribute them. We delivered every book, but had to include a message with every personalized book that if they included text their book was printed incorrectly in the rendering process and provided the email address of our contact to handle it directly. School ended one week ago, a fellow parent received her reprinted personalized yearbook today. The text errors were fixed, but her corrected book arrived missing the text on the spine. read more

Horrible customer service and a company I wouldn't trust with any future yearbook needs. First, they charged my credit card three times, and never delivered the product as ordered. Ordered again after billing was sorted, and the book went to an address I haven't lived at for over for years. Totally missed each yearbook event my son was to attend and couldn't participate. I am at an elementary school of about 575 students and we've used Picaboo to produce our yearbooks for 3 years and I couldn't be happier! It's very easy to navigate the website to develop the yearbook and get it to how you want it and the quality is excellent. The parents love the full color pictures and the price is very good for what you get. We've used other companies before and the quality of the paper and cover were not as good as with Picaboo. Delivery is quick and because it's online, we don't have to worry about ordering extra books and getting stuck. I would highly recommend Picaboo to any school looking to produce a nice yearbook for their students! read more

I will not be ordering from this site again. I ordered a canvas and hung it in bathroom on the opposite side of the room from the shower. I truly loved it and was really proud of it. The first time I took a shower and went to dry my hair I noticed white marks on the canvas (the ink is completely gone in these white marks). Just a few small water droplets hitting it from the accross the room ruined the canvas. Upon further investigation, slightly wetting my finger under the sink and then touching the canvas, I saw that it also completely removed the ink from the canvas. I contacted them after noticing this and was told to refer to their care page (which states to keep out of extreme humidity for long periods of time) and that they would only offer me a 60% reordering price. Do not buy this product for a bathroom or even a child's room who might touch it. Just really dissapointed in the quality and overall cosutmer service. Would not recommend. read more

I created a yearbook for my sorority with Picaboo Yearbooks and everyone LOVED IT! Our college yearbook is getting smaller and smaller each year, so this is a great option for us. The software was easy to use and I loved all of the page templates and graphics I could choose from. We look forward to making this an annual project. read more

I'm so disappointed with everything about my experience. My initial order was printed wrong. After contacting them, they acknowledged their mistake and offered I could reorder them for 60% off. After pointing out it was their mistake and their 100% guarantee, they offered for me to reorder and they would reimburse me. I didn't understand why I should front the money but it was too close to Christmas to keep arguing so I agreed. I did 2 day shipping because I would have not received them before Christmas otherwise. It took multiple days and emails before they finally acknowledged they would refund it. A week later I still have no refund. As I used money from our Christmas fund, we now can't afford to finish Christmas shopping. I contacted them but I doubt I get a response for several days as that seems par for course. Oh and they didn't reimburse me for 2 day shipping ONLY the cost of the cards. Horrible horrible horrible customer service. DO NOT USE. I would give 0 stars if possible. read more

Love Picaboo Yearbooks! This is my third year creating the yearbook for my daughters Elementary school and my second year using Picaboo. There software is very user friendly, uploading photos and portraits are an ease and I love that I can customize anything that I want. I have shopped around to make sure that we were getting the best pricing and Picaboo is hands down the best price wise as well. My adviser is very helpful and really walked me through my first year. Now that I know the program I do not rely on her as much but she is always there when I have a question with a prompt and thorough response. I highly recommend using this company. read more

While at first it all seems cool, later you are likely to regret the amount of time and effort it takes to create a yearbook. This is especially true if you make "personalized" pages with Picaboo Yearbooks as they will not allow you to re-use your "personalized" pages into a new picaboo.com book or combination of books. Don't waste your time. Customer service is poor. read more

Like the previous poster, I had a pretty lousy experience with Picaboo. Luckily, my co-chair and I were tech savvy enough to overcome their gaps but I still would think twice and ask a lot of questions if using Picaboo. Essentially, they are a photo archiving company but they LOST our first upload of 500 photos. LOST! This caused us to have to go back to our parent community and ask for an emergency upload of any and all photos. It was a time waster as we ended up trying to then sort through several thousand images that were dumped in as response to the emergency loss. Oh by the way, if you are using Internet Explorer. You won't find this stated anywhere but apparently their technology is not optimized for MS IE and you may get a rant from the customer service team about the evils of Microsoft. Sorry but completely inappropriate and if you don't actually support a very common tech platform, you should state it. The order process itself should not have been that difficult, but don't ask anyone from customer service to help. The guy I ended up speaking with made it much more difficult and actually it seemed that he had never walked anyone through the process before, especially around reconciling the online orders with the quantity of orders taken from, say, a printed order form. If you regularly shop online, you won't have any problem. Stay away from customer service when ever possible. Also, of course they want you to pay in full up front which gives you little leverage when they mess it up. Finally, when we did get our order, the labelling was SO off it was ridiculous. The labels did not match the shipping manifest. For instance, we had 50 books labelled with one kid's name; 68 books labelled with another kid's name. They could not simply or easily pull simple reports that you would need to align your order and track for distribution. It was a real nightmare. There are many vendors out there. Generally, working on a yearbook or something of the sort is driven by volunteers. This stuff should be Gumby simple. I would seriously think twice. read more
