During the summer there is a little chiosk bar with tables and chairs. Only downside of the park that I can think of is that sometimes the teens/preteens come to smoke up in the play equipment leaving their trash around ;-/ which is lame.

You should climb until the top of the garden where you will have an amazing view on the city. There is also a very nice coffee place that I have not tried yet - but whose location is great. The apartment or appartamento in Italian is a flat converted into a bar…read more I heard about it through the grapevines, although it was just opened, and it's not very easy to spot. You get there, big wooden front door, ring the bell and reach the first floor through the stairs. In order to get in you must have their membership card: Arci You can make it there for 10 euros or 12 with a glass of wine included. Their offer is simple, a regular bar with choices you would have in your own house: bottle beer, wine of the house, coffee, teas etc. It's cheap to eat and drink here, they also provide a nice aperitivo to help you get to dinner time. It's quite and roomy, also has a small outdoor in the terrace. I saw they also host classes and workshops so be sure to check out their website for more information. Free wifi, armchairs and calm are also a great cocktail to go read a book or study in the afternoon.

Wandering the lovely streets of Firenze, hot, hungry & trying to decide on a place for lunch; I saw…read morewaitstaff who were all smiling as they darted in & out. That was the only thing I spotted; but it made deciding easier. Went in & had a truly succulent tartufo pizza, covered in obviously fresh mushrooms with an icy glass of rose bubbly. So rich & savory, but too much for this tired woman to finish more than half, if I wanted dessert. The pistachio ice cream was topped by freshly ground hazelnuts & I dove into it. Lovely woman behind the bar whipped up an espresso martini that was perfectly balanced; not so sweet as to overwhelm my ice cream, not too bitter. Redolent with freshly ground coffee beans. Met a family from Germany who were coming back for a 2nd day to Teatro. Every inch of the restaurant was spotless & all the employees were friendly & kind to an American with only about 5 phrases in Italian. Prices were quite reasonable for the excellent quality they serve. I know I'll be back to Italy, & I'll be looking for Teatro Niccolini again! Grazie mille!

AVOID AVOID AVOID…read more The garden is all around beautiful. But I went to the bathroom right above it, and basically paid to be assaulted. I was groped and forced into the bathroom by the man working there while waiting for my friend. Had to scream to get away. Truly traumatized. I've been living in Florence for 6 months and never felt that un safe. The sad truth I have to leave reviews to warn people because I don't know what the staff will do after I informed them. Be safe.
