We visited Arezzo for a day trip.
This Tuscan town is known for its medieval history, and the piazza definitely looks medieval with old buildings from the 12th to 18th century surrounding it. It stands out also for an unusual feature - the piazza is on a slope, designed so that the rain will not flood the piazza. This piazza is one of the most beautiful in Italy, and was featured in the movie "Life is Beautiful" by Roberto Benigni (which I highly, highly recommended, and it won an Oscar.)
In fact, if you visit the museum on the piazza, you'll see from the paintings how little the piazza has changed.
Pro tips -
