Piazza del Campo is Siena's main piazza---the heart of the city. Circular in shape, you'll get Medieval vibes from the striking architecture that surrounds the piazza. You'll see the Torre Del Magnia (the tower in Siena which is probably the most striking architectural landmark), the Palazon Publico, Museo Civico, and plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops.
Since it's the center of the city, you'll see lots of people conversing and passing through. And twice a year, it becomes the location of Palio---the famous bareback horse race in Siena rich with Medieval traditions and customs. read more
