Our two boys have been enrolled at OCP for over 2 years now. In that time, they have gone from complete beginners with no experience to skilled pianists that impress everyone with their Coldplay, Imagine Dragons and One Republic piano arrangements. We went oversees one summer and the kids saw a piano in the lobby and started playing to entertain themselves and they drew a massive crowd. We kept hearing how amazed everyone was given their young age. We've even had guests come over to our house and thought that our children playing the piano in the next room was a recording. As much as I would like to take credit for their music talents, I know it is all due to their incredible teacher. Ms. Grace truly is a gem for the community. She engages her students with material they love and inspires them to tackle harder challenges. The recitals are always excellent and I have seen a big improvement with my youngest in public performing. My advice is to be patient with the waitlist. We were on their wait-list for 2 months before we got a call about an opening. We said yes right away because we knew 3 friends that were already part of the program. One lesson with Ms. Grace and you'll see why she's the real deal. She's highly personable and the kids immediately felt at ease with her in the home. They now run outside to greet her when she arrives! And by the way, they don't do this for anyone else. What I like most is that she doesn't just teach the kids what to do. She covers the rules and language of music and has them apply it to their songs all by themselves. Our 2 sons have been taking virtual lessons since the pandemic. We started with Ms. Grace- she is professional, structured, and encouraging. She has an effective curriculum that teaches beginners how to read/play notes. My boys loved that she added "fun" songs for them to play (pop songs, movie soundtracks, and video game music). After a couple of years, we transitioned to Ms. Ellen. She is great with all age levels. She is kind and encouraging, but also pushes our kids to focus on improving their techniques and musicality. Under Ms. Ellen, our boys are now playing more difficult pieces that showcase their talents. She also gives them a variety of music such as jazz/blues, classical, and even Harry Potter :) Our boys look forward to their weekly lessons with Ms. Ellen and they love playing the piano! read more

My children have been taking lessons with Ms. Grace (one for 2 years) 9 years old, and the other (for 1 year) 7 years old. They have progressed and come a long way. My 9 year old loves playing piano. Ms. Grace allows the kids to choose their own songs as they grow so they are able to play all their favorite pop artists like Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Lady Gaga, Imagine Dragons and more. The first year they put in the work to learning the basics and now they are enjoying it so much. Ms. Grace is strict but not overly. She is understanding, caring and pushes the kids to work hard at their individual levels. We really like Grace and the OC Piano program. She has done a tremendous job with the Zoom program given all the COVID restrictions. The program is perfect for my children because they are past just reading notes. Grace has really improved their fundamentals. Important areas like sight reading, proper finger techniques, and music terminology. She does a exceptional job speaking to kids in their language. She is great at motivating my kids while keeping them accountable. I specifically appreciate the detailed homework instructions she gives the children and the debrief she gives my wife and I after the lesson. read more

After seeing the woman who runs this place with a student, I would never trust Ms Grace with my children. I can't say much about her piano teaching abilities but the way she spoke down, belittled and treated a child totally disqualified her from teaching any minor in my opinion. Parents be warned! There are many better and more kind piano teachers in the area. read more
