You can stay in Boario or in the ski resorts, get lessons, hire or buy gear, have meals at the top restaurants up there and do fun activities like snow-treking. We ended up getting a really good end-of-season package with everything included - they're always available online.

Worth looking at all the other stuff to do in the area. We booked through a UK company to be sure given the current climate and later found they were actually one of the cheapest.

Breathtaking view with long gorgeous pistes that are catered mostly to intermediate skiers made this my favorite ski resort. The spectacular panoramic view of the Alps exceeds Obereggen and Alta Badia by far, it's hands down the best scenic resort. It's probably one of the most popular ski destination with the possible celebrity sightings such as F.Alonso, Massa, Valentino Rossi who are some of the regulars. With 19 lifts (5 gondolas, 12 chair lifts, 2 surface lifts) the resort offers skiers an incredible 1000 metres (3281 feet) of vertical descent and has 35 pistes with a total length of 60 kilometers. I snowboarded here during the week of Xmas from Dec.23 to Dec. 28 and I cannot ask for any better time to come here..... the pistes were almost empty!!! Since most people prefer to stay home with their family during the Xmas week, we got such an amazing deal for 4 nights stay with 4 days ski pass, breakfast, and 3 course dinner for only 420 euro from a nearby hotel (Hotel Canada)!! However, starting the 28th the pistes were getting crowded and the price hiked. I would definitely go back again...... I can't wait!!!!

We spent New Years weekend here. Ive been to Aspen, Vail and Park city and this is hands down one…read moreof the best. The Fiat Chalet is so much fun and the views are breathtaking. of snow (least in, over 20yrs!)meant skiing wasn't all we'd hoped but the food, shops, and entertainment ensured we had a ton of other stuff to do. If you go, be sure to order the hot chocolate while at the chalet. It's like nothing I've ever had! So good.1

Having never been a fan of the Club med concept I agreed to try and the experience was pretty…read moredisappointing. This hotel is sold as 4 tridents but is really average, the layout and deco are bad, the rooms are small with crap furniture, no style, and the building is very boring, looking like social housing from the outside. On the positive side I found the Club Med staff very nice and full of energy which is quite a challenge as they are working hard 6 days a week and need to start again every week with new groups. We never saw the guy running the village which was strange as his role should be to spend a lot of time with the guests. The mini club was ok and really the main reason to be there and have some free time with someone else taking care of the kids from 4 years old. The beginners ski lessons weren't great though as the teacher had 10 4-5 year-old beginners and was mainly on her own. The most disappointing part was the food though which was at best comestible and generally tasteless (lots of choice but just badly done, only teh breakfast were ok). The main reason to be there is St Moritz which is a beautiful ski resort and village with a fantastic scenery set around the frozen lake. We will probably not be back although this is probably a good compromise to do St Moritz without spending stupid amounts. We ended up going out for lunches on the slopes (check my review on Salastrains) and in town quite a lot which makes the whole trip more expensive obviously. Getting babysitters is not straight forward as Club Med doesnt do anything for you and just hand you over a list with the names of the girls selected by the local office of tourism. And finally, unless you are Russian don't book the week between Christmas and New year as this year there were 400 Russian people there, speaking mainly Russians while the staff hardly speaks any
