Highly inflexible admissions process, not very cooperative at all, dubious value orientation.
We had planned to sign up our kids for the first year in primary school and third year of kindergarden. The admission process includes an onsite evaluation and for the given date we were not in Munich, but abroad. The admissions people did not manage and did not even consider setting up a separate date for our kids. From a private school, I would expect much more flexibility than this. Also, it was not possible to get access to the headmaster during the admissions process to discuss this and other important problems and questions on the phone (we would have liked to know, for instance, why they only offer specialisation in modern languages and economics at the Gymnasium level; what is to be deduced from this selection? that science and mathematics or that music and classical languages are less important than economics?).
All of this sheds a very bad light on what to expect after having enrolled our kids there, so we pulled out.
(for sake of comparison, our state school in the neighbourhood - "Sprengelschule" - has been able to set up a such separate meeting for the evalutaion) read more
