    Tennis Courts
    Victor H.

Centrally located in Phoenix Proper. This facility is easy to get to from Hwy 17 off of Bethany Home and is close to a hospital, just in case you have a 'thumper' while working on your strokes!----lol It has 22 Lighted Courts, Locker Room Facilities, Tennis Shop, Tennis Professionals (for Hire), and Hitting Backboards. To rent a court day or night, the costs are very reasonable...I use the backboards for free a lot to work out. The courts are in good shape and well kept up, but I give it four stars because the Backboard Area is in need of resurfacing and repair. They have stringing for your racket (on site), and provide private tennis lessons for a fee. There are Tournaments there frequently, and so for you venturing types, you might be able to connect in a little competition!

    Plenty of tennis courts!

Cool place and great courts. I recommend this place for anyone looking to guarantee court time and doesn't mind paying the reservation fee.

Nice, newly redone, courts with great lights. Decent sized pro shop. The only down side is the neighborhood that surrounds it.

We've tried a lot of different sports in her short little life and this is easily our favorite one, in large part to the awesome experience! The current spring sessions are twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-5pm. I was surprised that they were an hour long because most activities for this age range tend to be shorter. But the benefit of a full hour is the amount of actual practice and playing time the kids get + the amount of energy they exert! The racquet club itself is like a hidden gem tucked away in a beautiful neighborhood. They offer a lot of different classes and the staff are friendly & down-to-earth. Our favorite part though are the coaches! Her main coach - coach Joe - is stellar! He has a great balance of being direct and fun! It's the first time I feel like my daughter has gotten real instruction in an activity like this which means she's actually learning and improving! It's also helped her build more confidence because she feels like she knows what's she doing and she gets feedback and help when she doesn't. We plan to attend the entire spring program as well as continue with tennis here for the foreseeable future!

There's lots of other activities spots too - baseball/softball fields, open fields for grass volleyball/football, basketball courts, playground, and walking paths. But I only care about the beach courts. The City of Scottsdale is routinely known for all the above with SRP courts- which is why they are always in high demand. #FirstWorldProblem There are 6 doubles courts with provided lines, lights, and ramadas with tables in the walkway between Courts 1&2 and Courts 3-6. Seriously, they know what they're doing here. A couple of years ago I called the Parks office to rent courts for my birthday volleyball tourney and the guy I spoke with indicated that they know they're good. If they aren't reserved, it's truly a toss up whether you can claim a court or not (even during summer). I only wish that other towns/cities could build as good courts in bulk much closer to me so the drive would be better, but a las.. I still end up at SRP weekly.

When everything is operating as expected, it can be a pleasant place to work out. That said, there have been ongoing frustrations. The monthly cost continues to feel high for the value received, especially with added credit card processing fees that come across as unnecessary "nickel and diming." Renovations were promised within a specific timeframe, but key amenities -- including the sauna and spa areas -- have remained unavailable longer than expected while members continue paying full dues. Communication from leadership has also been disappointing. Concerns were raised but not meaningfully addressed, which makes it harder to justify the premium pricing. Overall, it's a decent club with potential, but the pricing, transparency, and follow-through on promised improvements need work.
