I used to go to this Thai Boxing Club's evening Ladies sessions. I lasted for about three or four but some of my friends still do it. I thought that it would very Sex and the City. We would get miraculously fitter whilst chatting about love, life and all that jazz.
Instead, I was blooming awful at it. No balance whatsoever, which is pretty integral when you have to spin round and kick someone. Plus the first half was just bog standard exercise which absolutely knackered me out so that I had even less chance of doing well in the actual kick boxing. Obviously this was pretty funny for everyone else. Needless to say I did not get a belt.
They cater for all levels and the instructor was very patient when it came to showing us what to do with the gloves and where exactly we were going wrong. Still a little scary though... read more
