We are out of town and our dog's reoccurring problem popped up. They were slammed (Friday afternoon) but she was able to call a rx in to a Walgreen's pharmacy for our dog!! If not we would have had to go to a vet out of town or emergency vet! Anyway, she was on it!! Saved our weekend and calmed our anxiety over our dog :) Also, when our dog initially had gotten sick it was during covid lock-down and they were so professional and cautious but were right there at our car to take her in and treat her--twice!! These days it's that extra care that is so special and we are very grateful!! From the vets to the vet techs to the front office this is A+++ business!!

Our dog Champ is now 14 years old, which is well beyond the normal lifespan for the breed, and part of that is due to the care and medication plan they put in place years ago. Champ has been on a prescription for pain and inflammation that has helped him stay comfortable. At this stage, he is not very mobile and getting him into a car is extremely difficult. We recently called to request a refill of his medication. The receptionist, Sarah, immediately demanded that we bring him in for blood work and a full visit. We explained the situation and asked if there was any flexibility given his age and condition or if we could speak directly with the vet. She refused. She told us "too bad," would not allow us to speak with the doctor, and hung up on us. We called again hoping to reach someone else. Instead, we got Sarah again. She told us to find a different vet or use a mobile service and hung up a second time. We understand that clinics have policies. What we experienced was not policy. It was a complete lack of empathy and basic respect. After more than 10 years as a client, this is how the relationship ended.

On…read moreday eight, Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center told us it was time to put him down if we weren't going to operate. We took him home instead. Here's the part that still keeps me up at night: Hank never should have made it that far. At the 48-hour mark -- when standard care calls for a laxative on an impacted horse -- they did nothing. Why? Because we asked for a cost breakdown. That was enough for them to assume we had "money issues" and stop short of giving our horse the treatment he needed. That's our legal right in Arizona, a written treatment plan, but it was refused and used against us. Instead of doing everything possible for Hank, they sent my husband home with meds, wheeled the x-ray machine back out of the room not even offering an x-ray anymore, and made comments about our finances. A few days later, Hank ended up in ICU, where they billed us another $3,800 on top of the $1,000 we already paid for IV and drugs. Meanwhile, the pressure to do surgery was nonstop -- even knowing minis only have about a 50% survival rate post op. So we made the hardest decision yet: we took Hank home. We refused to let his story end there. For 27 hours straight, we did everything we could think of. We walked him every single hour through the night. We massaged his belly, worked his legs to his tummy, rubbed pressure points including the one under his tail, gave mineral oil in applesauce, and even loaded him in a trailer to "drive like a bat out of hell," just like an old-school vet advised. We refused to give up when everyone else already had. And then, on day nine, the miracle happened. At almost 1 p.m., Hank passed his first manure -- a pile big enough to fill half a milk carton. By 3:35 p.m., he passed a softball-sized pile, then a baseball-sized one. After nine days of nothing, he finally showed us he still wanted to fight. He's still standing. He's still fighting. And he's still proving that sometimes, the experts aren't always right. We were laughed at, disrespected, food chomped in our ear while Dr Moyer laughed and said we wouldnt get updates if we called, and worst we were guilt-tripped by people we were paying to save him. They told us "no" to extra walks, "no" to updates, and "no" to hope unless we paid for surgery. But the truth is -- Hank's progress happened because we never gave up on him. This is a reminder to every animal owner: advocate for your animals. Ask questions. Don't let anyone make you feel small for doing what's right. And don't forget that sometimes, love and persistence are stronger than medicine. Keep praying for Hank -- my little fighter who said, "Don't give up on me just yet." Is proving why sometimes you just gotta believe P.S. we know how Dr. Moyer is a picture or it didn't happen type person, as she didn't wanna believe that he had little diarrhea on our walk on Sunday, so we took pictures of all the piles that have come out today! Hank the fighter said "that's how it's done" And thanks for calling the other providers to "warn them"... very professional. We will see what the board thinks of all this. #veterinarymedicine #horsecolic #colicrecovery #horse #minihorse #drmoyer

Not long after checking them out my pup told me it was time and we went immediately to them on a Friday morning when they opened. They had the perfect room for him. It was the corner one with the big window. My pup loved being outside and it was the perfect spot for him, he stared outside the window into nature. They gave us a whole cart of treats to give to him and the doctor and staff was so kind and compassionate. The staff from the very first time we walked in to the time I was called to pick his ashes up was absolutely amazing. It was the only time they truly saw him and it felt like they had cared for him so many times before. I couldn't of ask for a better place and staff to have my dog cared for. They were so kind to us and even complimented on how good he was but that was his demeanor, he was always kind and sweet. Thank you Scottsdale animal Hospital! You made a tough experience easy and smooth and made us feel welcomed.

The vet came in next we discussed the options, he has arthritis and allergies. She let us know of an injection for arthritis we never knew existed. She really loves animals and out dog, who is a ham. We asked going forward if we could get a room immediately and they said yes and asked if we wanted one with an exit door, so our dogs do not have to go through the waiting room. We said yes. Again never asked that by any vet. You can pay right in the room, another win. We have another dog who needs to be looked at. I can tell you as someone who just moved here, we will use them 100% for all our dogs and their needs! Added bonus we are able to schedule with the same vet going forward, which is great because they get to know your pet and their personality.

Their website provided all information necessary for making an informed decision for at-home euthanasia, including clear pricing options. Booking was easy, I filled out their online form and within about 15-minutes, I received a text offering additional assistance and the opportunity to book the service for my dog. They do take Care Credit which was a great help. Although I cancelled my first appointment due to my uncertainty that it was indeed time, I was able to reschedule also through text. The doctor, Dr. Frost, gave me a call when she was on her way and was very compassion both over the phone as well as upon arrival and throughout the process. While having my 15 year old dog euthanized was a tough and heartbreaking decision to make, I felt comfort knowing that not only was my dog going through this process in the comfort of his own home, but also by a team who truly cared. I would highly recommend Angel Veterinary Services to others making the same difficult decision, especially for the comfort provided throughout the process.

We've known for years how wonderful this place is, they've cared for several of our dogs over time, but this visit was especially meaningful and unforgettable. We brought in our 15-year-old, three-legged, amazing boy Jake after one of the scariest mornings we've ever experienced. He woke up unable to walk, unable to see, and in severe pain. He had also experienced a seizure earlier, and given his age and sudden decline, we were truly afraid this might be the day we had to say goodbye. Dr. Stinnett took the time to give Jake a thorough, thoughtful exam, ran blood work, and, most importantly, treated him with compassion, confidence, and care. She knew, even when we were unsure, that this was not Jake's time. While the exact cause of his episode wasn't fully clear, Dr. Stinnett was confident that Jake still had good life ahead of him and she was absolutely right. Just four days later, Jake was back to his normal self. Seeing him walking, seeing, and acting like our happy boy again felt nothing short of miraculous. The entire team at The Pet Wellness Center truly cares for your pets as if they were their own family. That kind of genuine compassion is rare, and it means everything when you're facing one of the hardest moments as a pet parent. We highly--HIGHLY--recommend The Pet Wellness Center and Dr. Stinnett. You will immediately see that this is a special place filled with people who truly love what they do. Thank you, Dr. Stinnett and the entire staff, for giving us more time with our beloved Jake. We will be forever grateful.

I took my senior pup to establish care at this vet since we live very close and I also wanted them…read moreto check a small mass that he has growing on his head. The doctor was very nice and recommended not doing a biopsy but to just remove the mass at the same time as a dental cleaning under anesthesia. The appointment was very quick and they did the other quick normal checks (temperature, asked about diet, etc). This appointment cost $89! That is the most I've ever paid for a check up at a vet in this state and two other states I've lived in. The doctor said they would give me a quote for the dental cleaning and the mass removal and the vet tech said he would get that to me by end the of the day or by the end of the week (this was on a Monday). Next Tuesday rolled around and I still had not heard from them so I called in the morning and they apologized and said they would send the quote. I received the quote that evening, but the quote was only for the mass removal at $1874.00 - $2332.57. I asked to know if this included the dental cleaning. It's now Thursday, almost two weeks after the initial appointment and the person responding to the email said it was only for the mass removal but that the tech could write me a quote for dental cleaning if I want. They also said they noticed a double charge on the quote so the mass removal quote is actually $1404 - $1862. I should mention that the mass is smaller than the size of a dime on a 13 pound pup. I was dumbfounded that they were asking if I wanted a dental cleaning quote as I had already discussed that with the vet and the tech that they would quote me for both. In this timeframe, I was able to get two quotes from other vets and the total quote from these other places (dental and mass removal) were cheaper than the quote for just the mass removal at The Pet Wellness Center. Needless to say, we will be going elsewhere - doing the bloodwork, dental cleaning, and mass removal at a quote of less than $1000! Updating to say I paid $513 for everything (dental cleaning, mass removal, bloodwork, pain meds, etc.) somewhere else. I highly recommend not wasting your time and money and doing the research to find somewhere else to go. The Humane Society does dental cleanings at low-cost as well as many other vets with great reviews in the valley.
